I currently attend university in Southern California at Chapman University heading into my last year. I have recently decided to transfer to Yonsei University by the spring semester. During my last year in school at Chapman I worked a part-time job at a local elementary school located in the Irvine school district. I was an after school program leader working for Kids Stuff Center. I would help students (ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade) with any questions they had with homework but did not teach new material. I also planned physical as well as arts & crafts activities for these students. I also ensured their safety outside during playground time. Although I am a new teacher with no experience, I am currently enrolled in a 120-hour Online TEFL course, 30-hour Young Learners TEFL course, 30-hour Business English TEFL course, and a 120-hour in-person TESOL course in Incheon, South Korea. I believe these courses will help prep me to start teaching in a classroom and get a first-hand experience teaching in Korea. My Incheon course will also have a 3-day teaching camp where I use my skills to practice teaching real children.

Two of my biggest skills is being patient with others. As someone who has informally taught friends and peers a few basics of English grammar, I understand the difficulties in learning a foreign language. I believe this patience developed throughout my own reflection and journey of learning French and currently learning Korean as I took courses in-class for Beginner Korean. Hello, I am a Seattle resident who would like to work as an English teacher in South Korea. I believe I am a suitable candidate for this position because I have a passion for teaching as well as the necessary qualifications listed for the position. In terms of my educational and professional background, I have a B.A. degree in English Language & Literature from the University of Washington Seattle campus, as well as a TEFL certificate from the International TEFL Academy. In June of 2022 I completed a 1 year contract teaching high school English in a place called Székesfehérvár, this is a small Hungarian city not far from Budapest. During the year that I taught overseas I gained an increased level of patience. I grew as a leader and learned to use strategies when dealing with difficult behavior, I mastered my organization skills, and I sharpened my communication abilities.

Prior to being a high school English instructor, I worked at Shoreline Community College as a writing tutor for nearly three years.
