Furthermore, I believe we should use our free time outside of work to better ourselves and become intermediate in every field. Having a diverse set of skills will make any job candidate stand out. To settle for the bare minimum would be the same as killing creativity. Life is too short to only be average at what you do in a career. I believe that we should always work more than what is required and encourage others to do the same.

I have over 4 years of professional teaching experience. This has included teaching students of all ages, from as young as the age of 5 up through retirees. The diverse experience has been a wonderful time for me to really hone my skills and understand my strengths in explaining vocabulary, using visual aids and songs for younger students, as well as tips and tricks for older, advanced students, or even helping high school and university age students prepare for an English exam such as TOEFL. I have really taught all across the board which has helped me to be prepared in any situation when teaching.

I am a friendly, hardworking, motivated, and reliable person. I have a lot of experience traveling and working with different types of people and in various circumstances. Currently I am woking in a school where I work with kids who are 13-14 years old. My main job is as a special circumstance aid to a 14 year old with autism but when he is in class I work with other students helping them with their work individually or in small groups. I also teach english to a student from China who recently moved to my town and was struggling in class. We will either work on her school work or I will create various worksheets on grammar and vocabulary that will help her assimilate in school. I do a lot of research on how to best work with different students as many of the kids I work with have various issues that sometimes require extra help such as trauma, autism, or ADHD. I also understand that each student learns differently and you have to be flexible in how you teach and listen to the student. I have also completed a 120 hour course for TEFL which I have put into practices at times when teaching English.

With my experience, I’m confident in my ability to work effectively with a wide range of age groups. As outlined in my resume, I spent a year as a daycare teacher, followed by my role as a substitute teacher, which allowed me to engage with students across different grade levels and learning styles.

In terms of personality, I’ve often been described as approachable and fun, but I also understand the importance of maintaining a balance between creating an enjoyable environment and staying focused on the task at hand.

Additionally, I take pride in my organizational skills—I’m thorough, detail-oriented, and always make it a point to double- and triple-check my work. I’m also highly adaptable when it comes to lesson plans, and I make it a priority to connect with students in meaningful, age-appropriate ways.

While I don't have any prior professional experience in teaching as of yet, I have achieved and completed my 120-Hour Premier TEFL Course certification via The TEFL Org. I am a highly passionate and dedicated lifelong learner who is always looking to spread that enthusiasm for learning onto others. It makes my soul ignite when I help people gain more confidence in their language abilities, as I know the struggles of tackling a new language firsthand. Through my program with The TEFL Org I have a strong foundational understanding of how to structure an effective lesson plan and possess the interpersonal skills necessary in order to efficiently run an engaging class session. I also have a flourishing knowledge of the Korean language as I've been self-teaching myself for the past year and have taken an online abroad course (Basic Korean I) through Seoul Women's University.

My experience is mostly academic as a recent graduate. However, I do believe it does provide me with a great level of perspective. I have strong performance in Linguistics (my major). Demonstrating my ability to grasp complex concepts and apply them effectively. Courses such as Cross Cultural Communications honed my analytical and critical thinking skills especially in relations to being respectful and appreciative of other cultures and people.
In my brief professionally experience as a waitress required me to interact with many people from different walks of life. This strengthened patience, confidence, listening and negotiation. As a co-worker I strengthened communication, team work, leadership, adaptability and time management.

My personality can be summarized into 5 words: Optimistic, curious, adaptable, proactive and resilient.

My skill sets is versatile. On the technical side I am proficient with key skills in Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe package and Canva. My soft skills is my interpersonal and organizational skills, communication and collaborative/leadership.
