I am a Cambridge CELTA-qualified English teacher with more than twenty years’ professional experience in communication, training, mentoring and education. I am keen to bring my teaching skills, professional experience and enthusiasm for intercultural learning to an educational environment in South Korea.
My professional background is primarily in healthcare, where I have worked as a Diagnostic and Interventional Radiographer in UK hospitals and as an Applications Specialist for X-ray equipment with Philips Healthcare. Throughout my career, I have supervised and mentored student and junior radiographers, delivered presentations and workshops, and provided training to healthcare professionals. Combined with my CELTA qualification, this has given me a strong foundation in learner-centred teaching, clear communication, presentation skills and adapting information to different levels of understanding.
My interest in South Korea goes back to 2002, when I developed a close friendship with a Korean national and began learning more about Korean culture and society. I have since visited South Korea twice, in 2016 and 2019, travelling to Seoul, Busan and Jeju Island. These experiences strengthened my genuine desire to return and develop a deeper understanding of Korea while contributing positively to the learning environment.
My travels throughout Europe, Southeast Asia, South America, Australia, South Korea, Japan and Central Asia have broadened my global perspective and strengthened my adaptability, resilience and intercultural communication skills. I believe these qualities are particularly valuable in an international classroom. I aim to create an inclusive, supportive and culturally aware environment where students feel comfortable participating, making mistakes and developing confidence in English.
In addition to General English, I can teach English for Specific Purposes, particularly Medical and Healthcare English. My professional healthcare background allows me to draw on real-world experience when supporting students preparing to work or study internationally.
I am a native English speaker, fluent in Farsi (Persian), and currently learning Russian. My own language-learning experience has given me a greater appreciation of the challenges faced by language learners and reinforced the importance of patience, encouragement and clear communication.

As a recent University of Exeter graduate with First-Class Honours in French and German and a Level 5 TEFL certification, I possess a deep, personal understanding of language acquisition and cross-cultural communication. My hands-on experience spans supporting refugee students in the UK with a student-led charity to delivering private one-to-one English support in Thailand. Having studied abroad in Germany for a year and travelled across Southeast Asia, I have a proven ability to adapt to new cultures and thrive in unfamiliar environments. In addition, I am a compassionate and positive individual, who loves working with others and has a genuine passion for education and language learning.

My name is Reese and I am 22 years old from the United States of America.  I have a bachelor's degree from Binghamton University in New York in psychology and I had a major in speech and language pathology. I also have a level 5 TEFL certification from The TEFL Academy. I was an au pair and taught English to a family in Madrid, Spain this past summer. This experience helped me to learn my passion of helping people in the ways that I can. Teaching English to children and being able to provide a comfortable, fun, and memorable learning environment while being able to immerse myself in a new culture is my dream. I bring a combination of TEFL training, international mentoring experience, and professional communication skills. At the University of the Arts London, I supported international students by explaining technical processes through clear, step-by-step guidance and visual demonstrations, and my professional design experience strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, solve problems, and adapt to different people. I have largely worked in hospitality or customer service industries so I'm very comfortable dealing with people.
I am a recently qualified English teacher and have mostly done tutoring and have not yet worked as a classroom teacher.
