ESL Teachers

I studied history both at undergraduate and postgraduate level at Oxford University and Durham University from 2017 to 2021. Through my research I developed an interest in South-East Asian history, and in particular, Korean history. The ancient historical relationships between Korea, China, Japan and other surrounding countries is a source of fascination for me. Korea in the 21st century finds itself placed in a challenging geo-political context because of the legacy of the Second World War and the Cold War. I am hugely impressed with how Korea has created political stability and economic growth in such a challenging context. It is clear to me that Korean culture and traditions, allied to its drive to be at the heart of technological change and artistic creativity, gives Korea a special allure and a compelling strength. With this inspiration in mind I would like to discover as a teacher how Korean people live and thrive in such a society. As a teacher you are uniquely positioned to pick up the currents of political, economic, social and cultural imperatives and my respect for Korean people will underpin my approach to teaching. During the last year I have ‘trained’ myself to be a teacher and have developed advanced teaching and planning skills by taking on the role of ‘Tutor’ with the company ‘MyTutor’. This has meant fostering productive relationships online with students via teams/zoom all across the UK. I taught several sessions a week for individuals aged up to 21, specializing in English and History from KS1 to university level. I would love to combine both my passion for teaching and determination for travel by teaching EFL in Korea. I believe the experience and skills base I have garnered thus far will match the high expectations of Korean students. I am currently working towards achieving my TEFL qualification and I will be qualified in this respect in the next month. I would describe myself as having a very strong understanding and knowledge of my subject areas and pedagogy. I am empathetic, strong communicator who is highly diligent, inclusive and resilient. My higher education record demonstrates that I can absorb, analyse and make sense of complex concepts through the use of language that communicates sophisticated understanding and knowledge. I have long possessed a passion for working with young people and children, and I feel sure that I could further develop those qualities whilst teaching in Korea.

I have 3 years ESL teaching experience ( 2 years in person teaching, 1 year teaching online).

I am currently teaching in Korea on the EPIK program, I have also taught at a hagwon.

I am a positive person and I always look for the best in situations. I am very open minded and welcoming of new cultures and experiences. I am quite understanding and patient with students. However my best attribute is that I am very intuitive, this helps me pick up on what the students need individually and as group, I than am able to adjust accordingly to cater to everyone and to ensure the lessons go well and are engaging on all levels.

I'm currently teaching English, Maths and Science in Bangkok, Thailand to 3-16 year olds and have been since May 2022.

I am a hardworking, adaptable and reliable individual from England. I am a very inquisitive person and in my free time enjoy learning new cultures and languages. I enjoy helping children and young adults with their education and I am looking for a new challenge in a different country where I can continue to help children with their English.

I am a friendly, approachable, and hardworking individual who is excited about the prospect of re-establishing a career and challenge in teaching. To teach students of all ages in South Korea where I can develop my skills and knowledge further.

I have one year teaching experience (2019-2020) in Thailand, teaching enlgish, maths and science between the ages of 5-16 years old. I have currently been working in civil engineering for the last 2 years. I am now keen to return to a career of teaching English as a foreign language.

I am starting a 2month teaching role (Jan 6th-March6th 2023) in Indonesia. I would love to opportunity to work in S Korea after this date.

I have previous experience teaching English abroad in China. I am very charismatic and hard-working. I am also very creative and have the ability to make lessons fun and interactive in new ways.

I believe I would be an ideal candidate for this role as I have a multitude of experience in administrative roles, in which I continually worked to deadlines, liaised with many people and managed a heavy schedule. I am a driven individual who would thrive in a fast-paced atmosphere. I have many of the skills required for this position, including experience in working to deadlines and delivering at pace.

My skills include delivering excellent results at a demanding pace. Whilst working on my University’s Politics Committee as both Academic and Welfare Secretary, I faced many situations in which I was required to work quickly to organise committee events. This often required me to respond rapidly to changing circumstances by working effectively with my peers through timely responses.
I am also very adept at communicating with my peers; a skill which I developed at university through my role as a Course Representative. When asked by the faculty to collect student views on the department’s methods, I dedicated my time to organising drop-in sessions, in which students could come and leave constructive feedback which I would then promptly relay to the faculty.

With my relevant academic and organisational experience and driven attitude, I am certain that this position would be an ideal fit for me. Although I am a recent graduate, I am confident in my abilities and ready to make an immediate impact within this organisation. I believe that working within this company would provide me with the perfect opportunity to utilise my skills, whilst simultaneously allowing me to grow and develop further as a professional.

One of my strengths I have is my adaptability to a work environment. When I worked as an intern for “Rock to the future” I had a chance to come up with last minute effective activities to go along with designed lesson to help the kids better learn about the desired lesson.
I'm also a great communicator, through my different work experiences I've had the chance to work with many types of different people and companies which gave me different ways to potentially work with.

I think I can have a different perspective on teaching styles for different ranges and levels of understanding, as not all students will be on the same level, such as understanding the students' needs and differentiating the lesson to educate and engage them with a particular condition.

Hello my name is Nancy I am a Teacher Assistant and at present I am working at a Primary School in Brisbane, Australia. I have been a Teacher Assistant for over 15 years. I collaborate, communicate with teachers in the classrooms. The Years/Grades I have worked in are Prep students (5 years old ) to Year 6 (12 years old). I work with students on Literacy, numeracy, alphabets, counting, soundings of letters in vowels and consonants. I work one on one alone with students with learning difficulties and other students who are verified in small groups in classrooms. We teach and assist students with the latest technologies in Apple ipads and laptops, also using latest Applications on ipads and laptops from reading, spelling, typing and maths on the ipads and laptops.

As I don't have a teacher degree, I do hold a Certificate III in Teacher Assistant. I have excellent practical skills and a good knowledge working with students for many years in a school environment.

I have lived in Australia for more than 40 years and English is my main language. I am very interested to learn other languages as well if it is offered to me.

My strengths are; communication, strong work ethic, teamwork, open-mindedness, and trustworthiness. In high school, I taught first grade elementary students for physical education. There I would teach the children teamwork and communication skills. I carried these lessons throughout college and my work life. In my previous career, I was tasked with communicating between the office employees, customers, and warehouse employees. To which, gained the trust of employees in the warehouse to rely on and to confide in. The same career to which I previously had no experience in, I adapted by routinely studying and memorizing each product by its name, sizes, and materials. In addition to this, I helped many customers with my fluent ASL skills to solve a miscommunication dispute as I feel very open-minded and believe that everyone should be welcomed in our community.
