I have over 3 years of experience working with children aged 3–15, both online and in person in the UK, and I currently teach Chinese students English at different levels. I am patient, friendly, enthusiastic and adaptable, with strong communication and classroom-management skills. I use phonics, TPR, CCQs, storytelling, games and interactive activities to create engaging, student-centred lessons and help learners build confidence in English.

I have around 18 months of experience teaching English at a hagwon in Seoul, where I taught students ranging from kindergarten to middle school age. During my time there, I gained valuable experience in lesson planning, classroom management, and adapting my teaching style to suit different ages and ability levels.

I would describe myself as friendly, patient, reliable, and adaptable. Having previously lived and worked in Korea, I am comfortable with the hagwon environment and understand the expectations of working in a Korean school. I enjoy working as part of a team and am always willing to learn and develop as a teacher.

After recently completing my studies in Esports Coaching and Management, I am looking to transfer my skills, knowledge and passion for helping and supporting individuals growth into teaching. Throughout my studies, I have developed practical experience through individual and team coaching, with a strong focus on teaching and learning, psychology, leadership and management.

Hello, my name is Alex, and I’m an experienced English teacher with three years of teaching experience and a TEFL certification.

I’ve had the opportunity to teach students from different backgrounds, and what I enjoy most about teaching is creating a comfortable and engaging classroom where students feel confident using English.

I’m currently preparing to return to Korea, where I previously taught, and I’m very excited about continuing my teaching career there. I’ve recently completed the required apostille process for my FBI background check, so I’m ready to move forward with the visa process.

I am an ESL educator and economic development consultant residing in Nicosia, Cyprus and Ocean City, New Jersey, USA. I am a native born citizen of the United States and a naturalized citizen of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. I currently hold the position of instructor in microeconomics in the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth program. I am also the founder, educational director, and lead instructor at Kuruçeşme Projekt, an education initiative based in Nicosia that provides tutoring and academic instruction in business, economics, and English to the student and adult population of an underserved urban community.

As outlined in my curriculum vitae, I am an educator, writer and economic development consultant with over thirty years of teaching and administrative experience including curriculum design and classroom instruction serving with public and private schools, nonprofit organizations and private educational programs.

My areas of teaching experience and research interest include English as a second language instruction, business English instruction, English language instruction targeting immigrant communities, critical reading and writing, public speaking and presentation methods, economic development and job development related to marginalized communities, public policy impact on urban communities, political initiatives addressing immigration and integration, economics, business management, and entrepreneurship.

My eduction in economics and urban studies includes graduate coursework in macroeconomics,
microeconomics, financial management, managerial accounting, urban economics, organizational management, economic development and small scale entrepreneurship in an urban setting. My work in economic development has included consulting with government agencies, nongovernmental entities and private companies to initiate and support business development initiatives including survey design, feasibility studies, pre feasibility studies, international marketing and logistics, document publication and executive presentation.

My education in literature and writing includes undergraduate coursework in journalism, copywriting, comparative literature, and early American and European poetry and prose. I am a published writer with creative work appearing in print and online journals, essays accepted by Social Justice Review, and a socioeconomic series published in Welcomat. I served as screenwriter for the 2006 film In the Footsteps of Elijah filmed in the Kormakitis area of Cyprus which documented the culture of the Maronite Cypriot community.
