I am an outgoing, adventurous, and passionate person in all manners, professional or personal. Throughout my time at university in Madrid, Spain, I developed a passion for the English language in all its uses. By taking on leadership roles in both student-led and university-sanctioned programs, I learned I had a knack for helping others in the many stages of their English-speaking journeys. Additionally, my years of client-facing roles in the service industry have strengthened my dependability, drive, and leadership. A friendly and approachable attitude has granted me friendships all over the world and in all aspects of life, giving me the chance to strengthen social skills with those from different walks of life. I look forward to new opportunities and am excited for new challenges and experiences within any position I hold.

My experience in healthcare and academic administration has uniquely prepared me to be an effective, patient, and highly organized English teacher in South Korea. In my role at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, I coordinated interpretation support for over 200 different languages and managed patient relations. This daily immersion in cross-cultural communication taught me how to bridge steep language gaps, anticipate student frustrations, and maintain total composure during high-stress situations. It also honed my ability to practice empathy and active listening, traits that are essential for making young or non-native learners feel comfortable and supported in a classroom. Additionally, my work as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Illinois Chicago sharpened my operational and educational design skills. I routinely audited and updated academic documents to maximize readability and clarity, which directly translates to designing accessible lesson plans. Combined with my 120-hour TEFL certification, I have the practical toolkit needed to break down complex grammatical concepts, track student progress efficiently, and keep a classroom highly organized and engaging.

My experience with children ranges from ages 5-18 years old. I have experience teaching students in one on one music lessons, large group ensemble rehearsals, and student management with students as a school bus driver. My strengths lie in my patience, understanding, acceptance, and resilience. I consider myself a forever learner and naturally curious about the world. Having taught kindergarten and primary levels in Hong Kong and China, I believe I am suitable for teaching positions in South Korea.

What separates me from other teachers is my other experiences. I graduated with a philosophy degree (don't worry, I have a level 5, 200 hour TEFL qualification and have since gained TKT band 3 certification for Young Learners), and my degree gives me an edge in communication and critical thinking. Fundamental 21st century skills. I also worked as a camp counselor in the USA showcasing an excellent ability to care for young children 24/7 for months, coaching sports, wilderness activities, and aiding them daily as they live away from home for the first time. I was awarded counselor of the summer for the young age group.

I am extremely passionate about teaching and my key skills are patience; and being able to create fun, engaging lessons where the children have fun and learn.
