I am dedicated, punctual and reliable which are very important traits for this position. I am also very flexible and solutions-driven. I have taught different age groups from kindergarten to adults, I am a fast learner and adapt very easily. I have also taught in China for 5 years this was very good for me as I learned how to adjust to different environments, cultures and people. I have also travelled to South Korea a number of times so I am familiar with the culture and love being there and would definitely love to learn more.

My name is Kelly Samuels, I am a 23-year-old South African female with five years’ worth of education at the University of the Western Cape. I have completed a 3-year BA degree double majoring in English and History.

I have a passion for teaching English and following the recent completion of my BA (Hons) degree in the UK, I have undertaken teaching placements in both primary and secondary schools. I have an interest in fashion and popular culture. I undertook a degree in Fashion Design, which taught me to think for myself, use my initiative and solve complex problems. I hold a level 5, 168 hour TEFL certification from the TEFL Academy, where I acquired valuable insights into effective language teaching methodologies and classroom management techniques. I learnt a variety of lesson planning methods and how to create engaging and interesting lessons for all age groups and levels. The course has given me a great amount of knowledge and experience providing a solid starting point which I can now build and improve upon.

In the last two years I have had the pleasure of teaching middle school students of multiple levels, and believe that such experience has given me the skills necessary to lead students of varying abilities on their language learning journeys.
