I am writing to express my interest in an ESL job in South Korea that I've seen advertised on your website.

To introduce myself, I’m a French & Italian BA graduate of The University of Manchester in the UK. I most recently worked in technology sales in London, though I’m looking for a career change from August 2021.

I hold an 120 hour TEFL qualification, and in the past have completed numerous placements at primary schools in the UK where I taught a variety of subjects to children aged 4-9, often with a focus on children who require slightly more aid in the classroom.

Training and teaching have also formed key parts of my professional experience in both the military and sales, so again I’m confident of my capability to teach. On top of this, excelling in technology sales and the Royal Navy demonstrates my consistency as a top performer, communicator, hard-worker, team player and leader, and key contributor inside and outside the immediate job description. I can provide references on request to speak to this as well.

On a more personal note, languages have always been a hobby of mine, hence my degree in French & Italian. I've spent a lot of time in classrooms as a student being taught languages, and therefore I have a strong understanding of what works well in different settings, what doesn't, and how different students respond to different methods.

Something else to note: I've been teaching myself Korean for the last two years in my free time, and particularly since lockdown hit, I’ve been able to make great strides with this. Whilst I’m not fully competent in speaking at the moment due to lack of people to practice with, I can read, write and understand to a good standard, though I’m learning more everyday.

I believe I've also already acquired the documents necessary for the E2 Visa: the apostile stamped degree certificate and criminal background check.

I visited South Korea in Summer 2019 on holiday, and I’m keen to return ASAP. Having lived in both France & Italy during my studies, I have experience in adapting to a new culture, new language and new surroundings far from home, and I'm ready for South Korea to be my next move.

I'm highly organised, ambitious and enthusiastic, and this programme stands out as something I would love to be involved in.

Even though I don't have formal teaching experience, I have extensive tutoring experience. I have tutored philosophy at Rhodes university from 2017 to 2020. I am passionate about helping others learn. During my time at The University of Birmingham, I had the opportunity to tutor and help students with their essay writing skills and I also led study sessions with my peers. During my time at Northampton University I studied Law and as a result, I was able to develop my organisational skills as I had to prepare for 5 different lectures and study groups everyday on a weekly basis. Once I had finished my studies I began working for HMCTS at Northampton County Court. I have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Queen's University Belfast and a Master's degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Surrey and have worked as an Engineer for 4 years.
I have also worked as a Carer for a physically disabled person where I had to look after my employer and be a companion to them. Previous to this, I have worked briefly in retail and at a theme park which helped to improve my customer service skills.
I enjoy music and am able to play the piano (grade 6) and the flute (grade 5). Prior to the pandemic, I played the keyboard and sang backing vocals in the church band.
I used to help run the church youth group and helped teach the kids in children's church on a Sunday.

In terms of experience, I have taught life skills and behavioral development classes for women ages 18 and up as an Addiction Recovery Technician for the past year. I have also tutored high school students that struggled with their English classes, and have tutored conversational English skills on Cambly for around a month now. I am going to be doing my practicum placement for my degree with Children's Division as well, so I will have a good amount of experience working with children due to that.

I am an extremely hard worker managing a full time job on top of university classes. My coworkers and classmates have stated that I am very positive, outgoing, and fun to be around and that I always bring good energy to my surroundings. I also am never afraid to try new things in order to expand my knowledge base. Currently, I am learning how to skateboard and play the piano, but I am always open to new hobbies and enjoy incorporating engaging activities into my everyday life (and hopefully into my lessons).

In December, I will be graduating with a Bachelors in Social Work meaning that I will have the skills to de-escalate intense situations, mediate arguments, and understand the reasons behind behavioral issues that may arise. I am skilled in active listening and practicing empathy as well. I am known to fix issues at work too; I have fixed freezers, computers, cameras, and keyboards due to my resourcefulness. Hello. My name is Neil. In terms of experience I have 15 years of work experience. This was gained in a career as a lawyer. However I am seeking to transition into education and use the skills I have acquired to enrich the lives of children. I am very determined and would do anything to succeed in this role. I have been writing and reading English at an advanced level for a long time. I graduated with a Medieval History degree which involves rigorous research with dense texts and extrapolating in order to craft a clear, concise essay. Additionally, I really enjoy working with kids and teaching. Teaching is a natural evolution of my degree and this is an opportunity I am very excited to explore. I have taught english in Italy and Costa Rica as well as college anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, and CHS 101 college introductory through Arizona State university as a student teacher. Additionally I coached swimming through Scottsdale Aquatics Club for 4 years working with the fastest 12-15 year olds in the state.

By trade and by nature, I am a storyteller. The human capacity for learning through the art of storytelling is both as old as time and yet remains timeless. I value both expressionism and language as I believe that both are critical measures of our ability as human beings to interact and evolve. I am a fully qualified TEFL instructor and hope to leverage off of this, so as to enable as many students as possible to present their stories to as wide an audience as possible.

As of 2018, I have been employed as a management consultant within the learning and development industry. As a result, I have come to specialize in the design, development and delivery of highly effective and targeted learning solutions, spanning across a diverse demographic. Each undertaking had demanded that I not only design an experience that is immersive, but so too one that is appropriate considering the audience in question. Consequently, I have had extensive experience when designing lessons and content that caters to a variety of learning styles, academic and linguistic levels, contrasting cultures and age brackets. Further, my position had demanded that I maintain an effective interpersonal relationship with several stakeholders, meaning that my ability to adjust and acclimatize to contrasting conditions and social groups has been sharpened and should hold me in good stead considering the nature of this industry.

I am a History graduate and currently a Masters student studying Politics and Economics in London, I really enjoy being able to study current affairs as well as making the most of my own intellectual experience in such tough times. I have worked in a kids summer camp in the UK, Barracudas, I was intending to take on a third season but it was naturally interrupted due to COVID. It was a fantastic experience and my task was to set a daily timetable of activities for kids aged 6-14, striking the right balance between fun and informative games – such as splat but placing the emphasis on team work and creativity. I also looked after, and catered for, special educational needs children – learning how to become a better, and more well-rounded, instructor.

I have worked with a wide range of children in the past in both direct leadership and auxiliary roles. I was the president of my Venture Crew through the Boy Scouts of America where I would lead meetings and serve as an example for many years to younger scouts in high school. I have also volunteered at various Scouting events where I helped manage various small group activities for school-age children. I have also worked as a camp councilor for Camp Invention, both leading children and assisting teachers in getting children engaged in STEM-related activities. In terms of direct language teaching experience, I was the vice president of the Korean Language and Culture Club in university where I would create short and basic grammar lessons and present them to teach the club. I also would work with my peers in both high school and college to help unofficially tutor them in wide range of classes. Overall, I have a wide background in terms of both leading a range of ages in group settings and teaching different subjects.
I am a very approachable person, so people tend to feel comfortable asking me for help. I also have a very calm personality, so I tend to be able to stay level-headed and adaptable in most situations. I am a creative person, so I can think of many different ways to create lessons to keep children engaged in learning, and I am very curious myself, so I work to inspire curiosity and the drive to learn in others.
My skills include use of technology, so I can easily integrate it into lesson, and language acquisition skills. I have studied to varying degrees Spanish, French, and Japanese, and I have done very well in all my language classes. Having a very strong foundation for language learning oneself is important to be able to teach others language, even if its one’s native language. I work to have clear communication with anyone I meet. I take the initiative in most things that I decide to do, and I have developed critical thinking skills through-out my college career as a STEM major.

I have worked for several years part time and both a babysitter and an au pair for local families in my town in the UK. Additionally, during my time at school I volunteered with local refugee children to help them with their homework. This experience, along with my friendly and outgoing personality, has enhanced my skills working with children and helping them to grow and learn as individuals. Throughout this last year at university, I have volunteered through a society helping local adult refugees to improve their English skills. This has given me valuable experience to put my TEFL qualification into practice. I am a very patient and dedicated individual and would love the opportunity to help young children with their English skills. I have always been very driven and motivated to continue my own learning experience, and this enthusiasm is reflected in my desire to help others get excited about learning too.
