I have a Bachelor's in Environmental Science and a Master's in Public Policy. I have honed in my written and verbal English skills throughout my academic career, resulting in completing two degrees of study. The latter relying on a high level of written English to excel in.
I have previously taught English in Tanzania, Africa, over a 3 month period. The key focus of the sessions was to build functional use of English for job skills and to improve employability.
I have also completed the 120-hour Premier Online TEFL Course.
I have previously tutored GCSE students whilst studying my Alevels in Maths, Science and English.
My professional experience have enabled me to widen my range of English skills both written and verbal across multiple platforms, domains and for varying purposes. I have an excellent grasp of English and have the personality to teach competently and effectively.

Since I can remember, I have been teaching my mother and family members English as it is not their first language, which continued to others I have met during my lifetime. People find it comfortable asking me to help them with their pronunciation and teaching them the meanings of words when they ask. They appreciated me being patient and understanding, and no judgement passed on them. I volunteered to teach art at the BIY Summer School programme for young people aged 10-25 who came from disadvantaged areas in London. The core group I taught were aged 12 -16. The students enjoyed the sessions, and they came up with very creative and fun artwork even though at the beginning they were sceptical. Some were even afraid to draw because they thought they were not good enough to make art. But watching them gain confidence and seeing them grow week by week was priceless. I enjoyed working with the kids on this programme. I learnt a lot about myself during this experience. I carried out a plan from start to finish and executed it. I learned how to time-manage and command a classroom with the addition of being patient, empathetic and my fondness for young children would make me a perfect candidate as an EFL teacher. The skills I picked up can easily be transferred to teaching English, and I can also bring creativity, fun and positivity to the class.

I currently hold a Masters Degree and received a 168-hour Level 5 TEFL Certificate from the TEFL Academy (with 20-hour classroom teaching practice) in 2020. I have three years teaching experience and currently working as an online ESL Teacher.

Embarking on that journey alone and continually going to places I was unfamiliar with forced me out of my comfort zone and pushed me to become a more confident, positive, genuine, empathetic, and outgoing person, qualities I would heavily rely on when I took up job positions at the beginning of my final year at Colorado State University upon returning home. Throughout my time working as news editor of CSU's student publication, The Rocky Mountain Collegian, and as a leadership coach for Key Communities, I recognized the wellbeing of the students I was in constant communication with — whether it be through editing with them or mentoring them — was paramount. My job at The Collegian consisted of working together with the news director to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the news desk at The Collegian and to ensure that there was always content to report on, and in making sure operations went as smoothly as possible, I always made myself available to reporters on the desk whenever they needed assistance. I proofread and edited almost every article the news desk published, and I helped organize and conduct meetings with engagement and creativity first in mind. As leadership coach, I mentored and supported a group of students throughout the year and offered guidance and resources as needed. I kept track of students' academic and personal progress and achievements through individual meetings and weekly checkups; I celebrated their accomplishments and lent a sympathetic ear and support when they were faced with challenges. I have experience with ages 6 months to 12 years of age, primarily within the range of 18 months to 5 years of age. I have worked in both a daycare setting and a TEFL classroom as an assistant, working with groups of 5-25. I have co-managed and independently managed a classroom. My strengths when it comes to my career I could describe for myself is that I'm enthusiastic, energetic and patient. I enjoy teaching kids and I can easily bond with young learners, I take time to get to know the kids and young learners, I understand learning a new language is difficult. I've been an ESL teacher for more than a year for Chinese & French kids aging 4 years old to 15 years old and I've also been teaching Chinese & Japanese adults Business English as well. For kids I focus on their pronunciation, grammar and reading skills, I know most kids have short attention span so I do make sure every lesson is fun and full of learning. While the adults, I focus on their conversation skills, teaching them idioms & expressions and assisting them in their work presentations & tasks as well.

I'm a graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration Majoring Entrepreneurial Management. I've been in Sales & Marketing for more than 5 years. I have spent a large deal of my working life in customer service and so I am at my best in people focused positions. At the current student residence I am managing I have made sure to know all of the 170 students by name and build a report with them. I have worked for an additional needs charity, ages 4 to 19, by helping the children become more involved in mainstream activities. I helped teach a 4 year-old boy with autism how to swim and I arranged online activities for our children and teenagers during the pandemic.

Having had promotion/marketing experience, I’ve had to interact with plenty of customers and fellow colleagues, so I have good communication skills, excellent people skills as well. I am super friendly and therefore very easy to get along with. I am naturally a bubbly person and I love making conversation with people.

The closest I’ve gotten to working with students was when I held the position of a senior monitor and prefect (in high school). My role in this position was mainly to supervise the students and keep them occupied when there was no teacher present. I thoroughly enjoyed this as I got along very well with the students and now I hope to do this on a more larger, professional scale.

Over the past 10 years of work and education combined, I have
subconsciously worked alongside one principle, work smarter. I am a
person who looks for the most efficient way of doing a procedure,
streamline them and consistently strive to boost productivity. That's
what has allowed me to achieve my Bachelors Degree in Civil
Engineering, and of course, my TEFL 120 hour certification, amongst
