I have experience teaching ESL in Vietnam from 2017-2020. I also have experience teaching ESL online to Chinese students from 2020-2021. I am a focused teacher who establishes clear expectations in the classroom, leading to a fun and productive course for my students. While working at Apax English in Vietnam I received a Top FAS Achiever award in our faculty appraisal system review. This attests that I adapted to the curriculum and was able to carry out effective lessons that met the goals and standards of our programs/ courses. I am prepared and excited to adapt to a new program and bring my established skills to a school in Korea!

Experience
I have experience teaching English as a foreign language at a private children’s school in Florence, Italy. I taught classes of ages 7-15 years-old children at this school for over three months and developed a number of strengths.
Firstly, spoken communication skills. Being able to communicate effectively is the most important strength I have when it comes to teaching; it is necessary to effectively explain difficult ideas to children who do not speak the same language as you. This is a strength that can only be developed through practical experience which I have gained.
Secondly, classroom management. Teaching younger people is not always easy as they have a tendency to get distracted easily and misbehave. But maintaining an environment that is both interesting and fun for the children, without losing control over the class, is another important skill I was able to develop during my time as an English teacher.
I also volunteer for a company Refunet, where I teach an online class each week for an adult student who has a very high standard of English. Through this, I have gained experience planning and executing lessons for more advanced students.

Personality
I am an approachable and friendly person which are very strong strengths when applied to teaching. Because of this demeanour, I am able to make classrooms a relaxed environment, where students feel comfortable to try their best without being concerned they will make a mistake, as well as talk to me about any topic they are struggling with.
I am also very driven and hard-working in any task I take on. I will always see everything I do to its end, whether it is something as trivial as reading a book or watching a movie, or as important as preparing and planning for lessons. I will bring this passion into all of my classrooms and make sure to do the best job I can every day.

Skills
My best strengths in terms of skills are firstly my organisational and time management skills. I am always very organised in every aspect of my life, but especially when it comes to my work. This is an important strength as I will always be prepared and punctual for my classes. This provides consistency and high-quality education for the students, as well as support for other members of staff.
My second skill is my reading proficiency and passion for the English language. In my free time, my main hobby is reading. If I ever get a spare 30 minutes the first thing I do is pick up a book. From this, I have developed my reading skills, as well as grammar and vocabulary, to a very high standard. But, as well as this, I am also passionate about sharing this skill and teaching other people the English language so they too can enjoy it as I do.

My top five characteristics are patience, empathy, attention to detail, conflict resolution and kindness. These are some of my most valuable characteristics and they show in my personality. Kindness is something which I have always believed can make the biggest difference in an adult/child’s daily life. patience and empathy go hand in hand as whilst being a teacher I will see children struggling with things and it is my job to ensure they feel comfortable enough to ask for help and work at their own pace which is where patience plays the largest role. Attention to detail and conflict resolution ensure I am prepared for the role. I am a very enthusiastic person who has a great passion for leaning and teaching. I love working with children of all ages and helping them learn a new language and culture. In order to be the most effective teacher I can be I have gained both TEFL/TESOL and PGCE qualifications since graduating from university in 2019. My PGCE course required l complete two placements within two separate schools while also completing academic research and assignments. Since graduating in July 2021 l have been employed by my current employer as a native English teacher in Hong Kong for primary level students.

I am currently studying my PGCE Foundation Phase. I originally studied Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture which was a long 5 years and on completion of my studies I went to China to gain some experience. I am a honest, nurturing, loving, bubbly, vibrant female who is well organised, punctual and reliable. I am fun, I bring a lot of energy to my classes, I work well in groups and I get on well with everybody. I have good people skills and can communicate with people on all levels. I've taught for 7 years in the Korean Public School system and so I have garnered experience both teaching elementary school students and middle school students. It has been such an honor to want to teach Korean children as they are so keen for knowledge and English.

My personality is one that is extremely focused on creating an environment for children where they feel safe and able to be themselves. My biggest goal daily is to see children leaving my class happy while learning and enough confidence to conquer the world. As for my skills, over the seven years I have had the privilege to teach along side highly skilled Korean teachers who taught me a lot about the art of teaching.

My skills involve usually to sing, dance go beyond the borders of teaching and create a class where children are free to express opinions. I am good at classroom management and keeping students on track, to complete a task. I have been known to make a full class of middle schoolers and parents at Open Day, dance along and learn English in the process.
