During my time as a Project Officer in Coonamble NSW, I recruited and led a small team to plan and implement an adult literacy campaign. For the past two years, I've been teaching Business English to professionals in the Italian market, helping them improve their communication skills for the workplace. I have a bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in French from the United States and a master's degree in political science from Canada. While I was doing the bachelor's degree, I developed several skills including public speaking, organization, communication, and leadership. Since I had French as a minor, I was further able to develop my language skills, from learning to using. I feel that this makes me especially qualified to teach ESL. Throughout my master's degree, i was able to further develop and refine the skills I had picked up during my previous degree. I also added data analysis, technical writing, and time-management to my skillset. Although I wasn't able to speak French as much as I would have liked to during my time in Canada, I was still living in a foreign country and was able to learn the laws, social dynamics, and other cultural nuances fairly easily.

My personality is very sociable. I enjoy talking with people without judgement–hearing stories, understanding experiences, and learning different perspectives. Alongside being sociable, I enjoy learning about different cultures and languages. I have non-officially studied standard Korean for about a year, as well as Spanish, Norwegian, and continued French. I am a British citizen from Jersey, Channel Islands, and I graduated in 2023 with a degree in Politics and International Relations.

I have gained valuable teaching experience through volunteer placements, including 20 hours of English instruction at a school in Vietnam. I am currently on a placement in Tanzania working with a local NGO, where I am teaching English and Woman’s Rights. By mid-February, I will have completed a total of 80 hours of English lessons from both placements, working with students of all ages and abilities.
