I am an enthusiastic and creative educator with a diverse professional background that blends the performing arts, design, and teaching. For over 17 years, I traveled the world as a professional performer, experiences that deepened my love for different cultures and sparked a passion for education. I have over 4 years of professional teaching experience. This has included teaching students of all ages, from as young as the age of 5 up through retirees. The diverse experience has been a wonderful time for me to really hone my skills and understand my strengths in explaining vocabulary, using visual aids and songs for younger students, as well as tips and tricks for older, advanced students, or even helping high school and university age students prepare for an English exam such as TOEFL. I have really taught all across the board which has helped me to be prepared in any situation when teaching.

I am a friendly, hardworking, motivated, and reliable person. I have a lot of experience traveling and working with different types of people and in various circumstances. Currently I am woking in a school where I work with kids who are 13-14 years old. My main job is as a special circumstance aid to a 14 year old with autism but when he is in class I work with other students helping them with their work individually or in small groups. I also teach english to a student from China who recently moved to my town and was struggling in class. We will either work on her school work or I will create various worksheets on grammar and vocabulary that will help her assimilate in school. I do a lot of research on how to best work with different students as many of the kids I work with have various issues that sometimes require extra help such as trauma, autism, or ADHD. I also understand that each student learns differently and you have to be flexible in how you teach and listen to the student. I have also completed a 120 hour course for TEFL which I have put into practices at times when teaching English.
