I am writing to you to apply for the English teacher position.
I have experience teaching English in Vietnam and Japan. In Vietnam, I taught for a semester in elementary, middle, and high schools. In Japan, I taught in elementary schools for one year. I gained experience in teaching in varied settings to different ages. I worked successfully alongside other teachers, as well as by myself, to provide engaging lessons for learners of varied abilities.
I find it extremely rewarding being among, and learning from, people from different backgrounds and cultures to my own. Travelling and working among people from different countries is something that is very important to me and, through my many and varied work experiences, I realise that finding ways to engage positively with young people is going to be something I would like to continue throughout my life.
During my time coaching sport in South Africa and America, I enjoyed working as part of teams made up of diverse groups of people from all over the world. I am very experienced at and capable of fitting into a team and contributing to it. From my time spent playing sport and working as a PE teacher and football coach, I appreciate the importance of teamwork and cooperation in achieving a goal.
I greatly enjoy teaching English. My desire to do so has increased since working as an English teacher in Vietnam and Japan. I would now very much like to further test and develop my English teaching skills in Korea.
From my merchandise vending and front of house roles I have developed strong skills in communicating effectively with clients and potential customers in a high pressure and sometimes challenging setting. I enjoy being the face of my team in demanding environments. I am adept at quickly forming positive working relationships with individuals from all backgrounds.
During my time in teaching and in hospitality, I strengthened my ability to maintain my sense of humour during trying circumstances. This enables me to cooperate effectively regardless of pressure. I also developed diligence in my work ethic, as I built my skills in understanding, managing, and exceeding clients’ expectations.
