Seeking economics, business and government teaching positions in high schools, colleges, and universities. Looking for an October 2018 start.
Recently taught Business & Economics studies to students a public high school in Hangzhou city, Zhejang, China. I taught 2 programs, preparing students to go to Australia and Canada. The Queensland (QCE) program allows students to study in China and then enter Australian universities with a Queensland high school diploma. The Canadian program is 2 years in China and the final year in Canada. They are accumulating credits for an Ontario, Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). They will complete their grade 12 studies in Canada and enter Canadian universities.
2 years ago I worked at Nanjing foreign language school, in Nanjing City, China. The school is a top 10 school in all of China. I taught A2 students, IBDP 1 year, and IGCSE students. Most completed exams in May and June 2017. In 2015 to 2016 school year I taught and prepared students for the AP micro and macroeconomics exams in May 2016 as well as the NCUK economics and business studies exams in June 2016.
From March 2012 to September 2014 I taught business administration studies at Dankook University in Cheonan, South Korea (ROK). In that role the courses I designed and taught were: Economics, Environmental Economics, , E Business, International Business Law, Math, M.I.S., International Business Management, Business Presentations & Academic Writing, Business Communications Skills, Management Studies and World History for our department. From 1996 to 2012 taught EFL in the Republic of Korea (12 Yrs.), Taiwan (2 months), the U.A.E. (1 Yr.) and Saudi Arabia (1 Yr.).
I'm interested in teaching & management, especially developing and implementing the following: business studies, economics, political science, and social science courses. Other courses include: government & governance, sustainability and global studies, EAP and ESP courses. I'm also interested in corporate training especially teaching business communications, presentation techniques, negotiations strategies and effective communications for professional people.
Have experience teaching professionals such as: bankers, doctors & nurses, teachers, lawyers, engineers, brokers & traders, designers, military personnel among other professional people. Have designed materials, edited texts and subsequently taught several programs while working for various organizations. I’m a Canadian male. My previous experiences enabled me to teach at Universities, a Technical College a Military training center, high schools, middle schools, corporate training centers, among other institutions. I’ve honed my skills in teaching, research, curriculum development, and pedagogy, as well as working in-depth with computers. Prior to teaching I was self-employed in the financial services and construction industries.
The marketable skills I have to offer include; teaching students from kindergarten & elementary up to graduate students as well as adult learners (employed professionals). Responsibilities included developing and implementing the following: curriculum development, creating materials, text selection, tests, assignments, various teats and exams, homework, written task preparation, listening tasks, Individual as well as group speaking and written assignments.
Areas of interest as well as expertise are: economics, business, policy analysis, governance & government, teaching and training, management, marketing, a natural leader, culturally sensitive, and substantial experience in dealing with the public.
