I am writing in response to the vacancy advertised on the internet. The
position seems an ideal prospect in view of my experience and career goals. I would
like to express my interest in teaching at Prince Sultan University, and working with
the students where I can share my experience and knowledge.
As a teacher, i hope to motivate students in ascertaining their inner strengths,
abilities, and discovering that truly inspires them. I have a strong understanding of
child development and have been consistently recognised by teachers and
administrators for my effective use of classroom management strategies, and my
ability to integrate new technologies into lesson planning.
Teaching experience
– Material and Curriculum Development – American, World, and Social Studies based on the
United States
– Teaching approaches, methods, and strategies include; Comprehensible Input, Audio-
Lingual Method (ALM), Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), Total-Physical Response
(TPR), Suggestopedia, Timed Spaced Learning (TSL), Blended Learning (BL), Flipped
Learning (FL), Grammar Translated Instruction (GTI), and Content Based Instruction (CBI).
– Motivating student using Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction (ARCS) model,
and Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD).
– Evaluating student through portfolio building, formative, summative, and Bloom's
Taxonomy
In class I maintain a student-focused classroom. I prefer that students actively
engage in class. To this end I will ask questions, sometimes challenging questions. I
expect everyone to participate, as this makes for a more interesting learning
experience, a better class, and more effective learning.
I prefer to write on the whiteboard. By teaching in this manner students can
see the development of an idea. This means that each lesson I give is somewhat
different, in response to the class and to student feedback. I believe that people
remember what they write a lot better.
