ESL Teachers

I have a good grounding in both informal, creative forms of teaching, through my time in Athens, I have been able to engage with children, of all different backgrounds and cultures, in as many different ways as possible, from running summer camps, sports activities, film nights, art lessons, and also formally, through my two placements in Seville.
Last year I worked at OneWay Language School in Sevilla teaching a variety of students. also taught at a local school, across all ages from six to sixteen, giving me invaluable experience of teaching in a school, alongside teaching in an academy. Both roles allowed me to gain further teaching experience, working through student books, to implementing my own lesson plans. I taught from small intensive C1 classes, working alongside another teacher particularly with the youngest students, to being tasked to take half the class out to the library to teach independently. Working in both locations was a fantastic opportunity to experience and develop my teaching methods in both an academy setting, and even more importantly in a school setting, with a wide variety of different students and levels.
The year before I worked at a different academy in Sevilla, Connect Idiomas. This was my first formal teaching position, which gave me so much confidence and desire to continue in my hope to teach English abroad.
I taught a wide variety of different ages and levels, from four year olds to adult C2 classes, and from one to one, to intensive exam preparation lessons. What I most enjoyed about this role, and also with the role at OneWay was the ability to teach such a variety of different ages, abilities and needs. Both experiences were invaluable in giving me as much exposure to learning and implementing the way in which I want to teach. I always felt supported in my role, which gave me the confidence to really pursue and experiment the ways in which to get the best out of every student, which was at the heart of everything that I did.These experiences have given me the desire to teach again and to become an English teacher, especially as a foreign language, as I feel that is the most rewarding form, and what interests me the most. The ability to not only teach but to learn about new cultures and to teach others about mine, is incredibly appealing.
I have shown through the volunteer projects and my degree that I am able to learn quickly on the job, and that I am willing to engage completely in new topics and to settle quickly into a new environment.
I have demonstrated that I can work well within a group, also individually, that I am always happy and confident to work with a wide range of different people from very different backgrounds, languages, and cultures. I believe that with these unique experiences I can offer a great deal to this role.

I am writing to express my interest in the teaching positions you have available in South Korea. I am a native English speaker from the United Kingdom with a BA degree in English Literature from the University of Bristol. I have also completed a 140-hour TEFL qualification from TEFL.Org, including a 20-hour in-person course.

I now work at a state secondary school in the United Kingdom, as a special educational needs (SEN) teaching assistant. I work with a diverse range of students from ages 11-18, providing both educational and emotional support in a classroom setting. As well as this I have also previously volunteered with a local scout group, working with children from ages 6-8. This was a more practical role as I ran both educational and fun activities for children, and was responsible for a large group of young children.

This experience has shaped me into a well-prepared, adaptable and determined individual who is very passionate about working with children and allow them to have the best education possible. I am now keen on expanding my experience into the role of an English teacher abroad. I am confident and comfortable in a classroom setting and wish to bring my experience into an international classroom in order to allow students to learn in a positive and encouraging environment.

My degree in English Literature has meant that I have strong communication skills and a deep love for the English language and the many uses it has in both practical life and in accessing modern media for entertainment. As the world becomes more connected, being able to access the English language is of great interest to many people and I would love to have the opportunity to assist in this journey.

I babysat throughout my life for neighbours, family and friends and am very comfortable with children. I am hard-working, curious and open-minded. I have a degree in genetics and cell biology and would be happy to share my knowledge on variety on topics including biology and nutrition. I recently completed a 200 hour teacher training course which covered a variety of topics including anatomy, meditation, ayurveda, and anatomy. Again I would be happy to incorporate these topics into class if that was feasible.
While travelling i have also casually taught English to people i met from all over the world and as previously mentioned love to share my knowledge.

I have experience working with children at a summer camp a few years ago where I taught them basic lessons in biology and our surrounding native species. I'm a person who really likes to get all of the facts right as well as someone who has a strong attention to detail when carrying out any task. I am currently teaching piano lessons as well as percussion lessons to children and adults. My teaching style highlights meeting the student where their skill level is, and then progressing them from there. I also use a method of gathering knowledge of their interests and leveraging it to the advantage of providing them with a more engaging experience, and to accelerate their learning.
