ESL Teachers

I graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2019 with a BA with Honours in English and graduated with an MA in Journalism in 2021. I completed my 240 hour TEFL qualification in July 2024 and since then have had experience teaching English to Spanish and Italian children who were attending summer school in the UK where I was planning and leading classes and shadowing more experiences teachers. I am an outgoing, personable and approachable teacher who aims to make all classes fun and interesting for students and I am always available for students should they wish to speak to me about any concerns.

I am a native English speaker from South Africa, recognized for my calm and strong nature. I have significant experience in classroom management and child development. My expertise lies in teaching English, creating curriculum and mentoring students. I have taught English for two years to kindergarten, elementary, and middle school students in diverse educational environments. I know how important teamwork and communication are. I can work independently or as part of a teaching team. My time in South Korea has enriched my understanding of the English language and its cultural aspects. I aim to create engaging learning experiences that focus on critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.

I have years of tertiary experience with constant essay writing. I came 2nd in Standard English in Year 12. I am a proficient and high-level writer and speaker with superior use of grammar and vocabulary. I am an honest person who enjoys helping people and doing my best at whatever I do.

I also have experience with all Microsoft software. Moreover, I am close to possessing my TEFL certificate from TEFL.org (awaiting final 2 assessments to be marked).

I do not have experience in teaching, but I do have experience with people management, having been a manager at supermarkets.

I have a Bachelors with Honours degree in Journalism, I graduated in 2020 with a 2:1. Since then I have worked freelance as a content writer and over the past few months as a volunteer English teacher. During my time teaching, I have taken on classes of 12-17 year olds, planning lessons and shadowing experienced teachers. As a teacher I’d like to think I’m approachable, fun and motivating. I make it clear to my classes that there are simple rules to follow, but if they ever have an issue they can feel comfortable talking to me.

Hi, I consider myself to be an extroverted individual who loves helping people learn. Despite it not being necessarily professional, my MBTI is an ENFJ – the very personality type who is considered a natural teacher. I have started, however not finished, a 120 TEFL course and I also have a TOPIK 3.

My strengths are built upon compassion and consistent communication that allows me to create a positive environment for myself and my team to grow. I have been a restaurant manager for 2 years while also accomplishing high marks at University, and placed onto the Dean’s list for more than 2 years. I am passionate about collaborating with others to achieve a collective goal and frequently praise hard-work and dedication at any level. My experience working as a crisis counselor and a support volunteer for church youth has enhanced my skills with guiding others towards their goals and in a positive direction. I have a proven track record of being organized and reliable while maintaining a positive attitude alongside a growth mindset.
