Hello, as stated my name is Alanna, I am a bilingual student with a bachelor's degree in English. I can fluently speak, write and read both English and Spanish fluently. One of my favorite hobbies is write and read literature . In my different sets of skills I have, customer service, social media management, front desk in a hotel, regular retail and tutoring for kids ages of 7 to 12 in the subjects of math, science, English and Spanish. In my skills dance can also be included, I've been a dancer since I was five years old and can teach Salsa.

I have over 12 years of experience in consulting, marketing, and managing projects, which has allowed me to develop strong leadership and communication skills. My roles in social media management for major companies like eNCA and Bloo Money have equipped me with the ability to create engaging content, connect with diverse audiences, and effectively manage multiple platforms. I’ve also worked extensively with agile methodologies and project management tools, ensuring that I can adapt to dynamic environments while delivering high-quality results. My international exposure, including attending London Tech Week and working with cross-functional teams, has strengthened my cultural awareness and ability to collaborate with people from different backgrounds.

As someone who values structure and precision, I thrive in environments where clear goals and detailed planning are key. I’m passionate about continuous learning and innovation, especially in emerging technologies, and I bring a practical, results-driven approach to everything I do. I’m also deeply committed to ethical decision-making, which aligns with my belief in fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Although I grew up in the United States, I traveled and lived in many countries over the last ten years of my life. Along the way, I embarked on numerous adventures, and embraced the richness of different cultures. On my journey I became a cosmopolitan citizen of the world, but I wanted to continue my education through the academic track, so I can have the necessary tools to be a diversified teacher. My pursuit of higher education led me to the Netherlands, where I graduated with an interdisciplinary bachelor's degree in European studies. Maastricht university where I studied, relays on a teaching method called Problem Based Learning (PBL) where it is research and group oriented in practice. Therefore, retaining information and learning through PBL is unorthodox to say the least and allows for an innovative and diversified approach to the learning process.
Furthermore, motivated by a deep love for education instilled in me by my mother, an English teacher who would often take me to her private lessons, I pursued further professional development by obtaining my TESOL and CELTA certifications while traveling, where I was able to gain some teaching experience as an English teacher in Spain. These qualifications have equipped me with the necessary skills to create dynamic and inclusive learning environments that empower students to reach their full potential.

I have four months teaching experience ,teaching English at Education First Online.My strength is that when I have employment ,I give of my best at all times ,I am dedicated and I learn the whole time whist I am on the job.

Teaching at Education First ,was a phenonemal experience ,the only reason I do not work at Education First any more ,is that my working hours were from 12 pm to 6pm and 12 am to 6am Monday to Sunday.

The contract was for 1 year ,and having a teacher no show ,qualifies as a breach of contract ,unfortunately I had 10 teacher no shows ,all these teacher no shows happened around 1 am to 5 am South African time ,when unfortunately I could not hear the alarm to wake up.

As to try and make the best opportunity for the job.

At Education First ,it was my first teaching job ,and I gave it my all from day one ,this is because I took the training seriously and studied the courses at the training ,to hopefully prepare me for a successful journey.

Which then became apparent in my student ratings,as I was teaching English to working adults ,my student ratings were 4.75/5 for group lessons and 4.68/5 private lessons.I taught approximately 180 hours of group lessons and 90 hours of private lessons.

At Education First a teacher is booked privately for a private one to one lesson ,if they are seen by a student in a group lesson that they are good at they do and can be an asset to them.

My personality ,is that I am a fun person to be around , I enjoy learning from people ,I am also am dedicated and hardworking.

My hobbies are jogging ,hiking ,swimming ,gyming & I also like to write poetry.

I have communication skills as well as analytical skills ,which ,with the assistance of the language school through training ,will be of utmost benefit to not only to the school but to the students as well.

I grow up on a farm in County Limerick. When I was in school my favourite subject was History and Art. When I was in secondary school I won an art competition to design a Christmas card to Pope from the school.
I study business in the Limerick institute of Technology.
I have three months teaching English in a Kindergarten in China and three months teaching in primary school in Thailand

I will bring with me my love of language and coaching skills to develop young learners ability in the English language and techniques that they may use to learn other subjects.
Being able to speak more than one language opens a new door to another  culture and a different way of thinking. English being the business and IT language of the world anyone with fluency in English has an advantage in Industry and the potential to work anywhere in the world or develop their own countries industry.

I have recently completed a Foundation English course for the UBI Business school in Brussels. The requirements was to bring there level of English to B2-C1 level so they are ready for the beginning of the academic year. All course work was prepared by myself.

You will see from my C.V that I have worked in IT which taught me different methods of problem solving. I also worked alongside international colleagues in small and large teams learning about the different cultures.

Over a period of 20 years I have coached people of all ages in Hapkido and Chi Gong. This experience has been invaluable as it helped me see and understand peoples difficulties in learning and how to find solutions to overcome such mental blockages. At the companies I would teach Chi Gong as a means of mental relaxation from the stress of work.

I am a well rounded Teacher with qualifications in Education (Bachelor's degree) as well as Post graduate certificate in education. I am currently enrolled for TEFL course and completed the classroom practicals successfully. I was a Facilitator for three years and taught for couple of months at a college. I believe in education and the impact it can have on one's life. English through formal education one can achieve a lot in life.

I would like to underline three personal qualities that an ideal candidate might need: a love of languages, an adventurous spirit, and a commitment to lifelong teaching and learning.

Language learning has defined my life. From taking my Latin GCSE a year early, to gaining B2 in Spanish within 6 months and moving to Italy (wherein my last romantic relationship was in Italian), language learning has seeped into all areas of my life. Furthermore, my learning style is highly independent, which means I have honed my teaching skills alongside my core language abilities. For instance, I have spent the last year working in French, writing grant applications and managing our organisation’s finances. This necessitated continuous learning of financial vocabulary and adapting it to long-term memory. I am now studying for my Level 5 TEFL, which I aim to complete in November. As language learning is part of my identity, I believe that I have the passion and deep understanding of language components to transmit this passion to students.

Alongside this, I consider myself to be highly adventurous. This curiosity and open-heartedness should engender trust and strong bonds with students – and help me integrate well in Korea. To date, I have lived in Newcastle, Cambridge, Nice, Oléron (an island off Western France), London, Turin, and Calais. Whilst working with healf and as a Research Assistant, I was volunteering or travelling in Morocco, Poland, Ukraine, the West Bank, and France, before spending two months in Mexico. I love to live with an open mind, humility, and an exploratory mindset – essential traits for learning, and teaching, a language. I hope to bring this energy and openness to your students.

Finally, I have incorporated lifelong learning and teaching into my identity. I play multiple sports, pick up hobbies regularly (including skateboarding), and have taken on numerous jobs: from localisation to customer service, finances to public relations. My curiosity and ability to learn rapidly are core parts of my identity. Crucially, I believe that I can teach people how to understand their own learning style and make the most of it, due to my own understanding of how I work.
Furthermore, I teach languages on a casual basis. As an English native that speaks the language of the host country, I find that many people feel safe to practice their English and revert to their own language for any technical parts of the conversation. I have also done the same in Calais, teaching French and Italian to my English-speaking colleagues. Whilst this may not be the case in Korea, I am nevertheless used to coaxing the best out of people on a one-on-one basis as well as in groups.
