My role as China Trip Co-ordinator revolved around the essential organisational and leadership skills gained from my degree. I have developed strong communication abilities from liaising with both my kung fu Master and the students attending the trip. Additionally, my public speaking skills have greatly improved from this experience, as I was required to give presentations to promote the expedition. This trip has benefitted me immensely in terms of my personal growth and perseverance, as I was able to push myself out of my comfort zone and train my body past its limits. I feel incredibly privileged to have been able to immerse myself in a different culture, making me particularly excited about the opportunity to teach in South Korea and engage with new environments.

During my Trinity CertTESOL training, I gained invaluable experience teaching online to learners from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. This course has taught me the importance of organisation, adaptability and empathy, as well as creating engaging learner-centred lessons, and ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom environment, all of which are fundamental to effective learning. I have delivered lessons on receptive skills (reading and listening), lexis and grammar using approaches such as PPP and guided discovery, to both pre-intermediate and upper-intermediate level learners. Additionally, I particularly enjoy designing and creating my own lesson materials, tailoring my approach to meet the specific learning needs and preferences of my learners, as well as making lessons more relevant and engaging for them. Beyond teaching techniques, this course has also been a personal journey, enabling me to grow both personally and professionally. I have discovered more about myself, with resilience being one of my strengths, along with my natural ability to connect with others. As such, I feel this empathetic and creative skill set and my enthusiasm for teaching, will make me a great addition to your team.

Throughout my life, I have had the privilege of growing up in a bilingual environment, with English and Spanish as my first languages. Specializing in English during my university years allowed me to expand my knowledge into various fields, including storytelling, creative writing, teaching, public speaking, and translation (both English to Spanish and Spanish to English). I also obtained research certifications such as HIPAA training, social behavioral research, and responsible conduct of research, which includes understanding copyright laws. In addition to my studies, I have explored literature for children and young adults and delved into the works of Shakespeare. I am well-versed in the origins of the language, having completed courses in American and English history.

My passion for language has always provided me with opportunities to teach and assist others. Recently, I have been involved in community tutoring programs aimed at helping low-income individuals access quality education. My expertise has also enabled me to translate official documents and facilitate conference meetings, where I act as a mediator between the two languages.

– I have a undergraduate degree in English Literature/English Language from the University of Glasgow. I was student representative for 2 years and I volunteered for the English conversational cafe.

– I have a MSc Psychology of Language from the University of Edinburgh. Extracurricular activities included writing for the student newspaper and the psychology magazine.

– I received my Level 5 diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (168 hours) in September 2024.
