Experience: Taught tae kwon do to classes of young children, teaching them how to properly execute forms and techniques. Also volunteered as a figure skating coach, teaching children how to skate on ice.

In November of 2023, I graudated with my Masters degree in English. I also have my TEFL certification, which I recieved last fall. I have several years of experience as a writer and editor, and have an in-depth understanding of the English language, how it's put together, and how it is and can be used. In my current position at work, I am a content manager, aiding others in their use of the language for casual as well as more professional tasks. I have also tutored students and family friends with their English essays and projects, which has allowed me to continully refine how I can express concepts in a simple, effective way.

I've had a love for language and literature since I was a child. As I’ve grown and expanded on my education and passions, I’ve come to develop an admiration for other languages alongside my native tongue. Language is an art in many forms, and no matter the language that someone speaks, it is something that should be appreciated, studied, and most importantly, shared, seeing just how interconnected our world has become.

Alongside being a lifelong learner, travelling, and doing all I can to experience new places and cultures, I am someone who has learned how to adapt to many settings and circumstances when needed, including knowing when to ask for help and collaborate with others and when to take initiative and focus on a task individually. With all that said, I would love to teach to help others find their own love for language. A whole new world opens up when you immerse yourself in something new and I would love to be the person who opens that door for children and adults alike.

I have two years of teaching experience in college, and in high school I served as a mentor for a kindergarten-aged girl, so I am familiar with both teaching and working with kids. I also think of myself as a friendly, patient person. In terms of skills I am good at copyediting, organization, completing tasks in a timely manner, and communicating both with coworkers and superiors.

I am a qualified ESL teacher with an Honours degree in Arts (English and Political Science) and a Masters degree in law. I enjoy using my professional experience and creativity to produce interesting and productive lessons. During my time as a Project Officer in Coonamble NSW, I recruited and led a small team to plan and implement an adult literacy campaign. I designed and implemented a curriculum for students ranging from beginners to advanced learners, and gained valuable experience in classroom management, lesson planning and adapting teaching methods to suit various learning styles. I was able to draw on my previous experiences in teaching at a local school in Ghana where I developed skills in working with both primary school aged children and culturally diverse populations and gained a sound understanding of the importance of cultural exchange in language education.

Experience: Through my roles as a board member across various organizations, a Dean’s Office Assistant, and a Student Writer, I have developed strong leadership and communication skills. I have experience managing teams, coordinating events, and engaging with diverse groups, allowing me to create a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

As a Youth Group Leader and English Tutor, I have dedicated myself to mentoring students, ensuring they feel encouraged and motivated to succeed. Hi, my name is Deanicia Syriac! I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and a Level 5 TEFL Certification. I also possess a Professional Certificate in Events Management and a Certificate in Digital Marketing and E-commerce. For the past two years, I've been teaching Business English to professionals in the Italian market, helping them improve their communication skills for the workplace. I also have experience teaching preteens and teenagers during Summer 2024, which has strengthened my ability to adapt my teaching style to different age groups and learning needs.

Beyond teaching, I’ve worked as a Programme Coordinator in the fashion industry and as a contracted Customer Engagement Manager for a small business. These roles have allowed me to develop a strong skill set in social media marketing, event coordination, and customer relationship management. I'm also experienced in professional communication, business writing, and curriculum development, and I love using Canva to create engaging visuals for my work.

In terms of personality, I’m a natural communicator who thrives on building connections with people. I bring a fun, engaging, and flexible approach to everything I do, whether it's teaching, managing projects, or working with customers. I love problem-solving and thinking creatively to find the best solutions, and my strong sense of organization helps me balance multiple tasks effectively.
