I am finishing up three years of teaching in Korea and I am looking for a new opportunity for late January or Feb/March 2019. My current contract finishes on January 7th, and I'd like to take a short vacation in America to see my family. I really love working and living in South Korea. I find both my professional and personal life here to be so fulfilling! I like to plan and have opportunities to be creative with my lessons. At my current and most recent job, I have become more experienced with developing curriculum and creating lessons for storytelling classes (discussing storybooks with elementary school students), as well as fun lessons in cooking, art and craft, and random subjects with a focus on conversational English. I have obtained experience teaching Kindergarten-Middle School, and most recently, a few classes teaching adults. I am looking forward to a new experience to challenge myself and develop as a teacher. Thank you for reading this!

1. Assistant Manager at Bistro Colorado – (Aug 2012 – Jun 2018)

Assisted General Manager with the planning and executing of achieving monthly labor and food cost goals. Accomplished this through efficient scheduling and minimal food waste. Responsible for majority of administrative duties including organizing paperwork, returning phone calls, and monitoring inventory levels related to front of house operations. Helped supervise front of the house staff performance and trained new hires to follow company policies. Developed excellent people skills in demanding, unpredictable, high volume environment.

2. Brand Representative/Sales Associate at Hollister Co. – (Nov 2012 – Mar 2013)

Duties included greeting customers at storefront, helping customers find merchandise, setting up displays, cleaning up assigned areas and working cash registers to complete sales

Having a bachelors degree in drama and a TEFL qualification and being incredibly interested in Asian culture made me feel that I would be well qualified to teach English to speakers of other
languages. Although I have no experience teaching as yet, during my degree I did facilitate a class of teenagers so have some small experience and have done a lot of research.

My previous experience in Drama from my degree will help to make the lessons fun and engaging for my students whilst also keeping things fresh and exciting experience for the students so that learning a new language can be as enjoyable as possible for them. I have always had a passion for language and children & combining to passions of mine with be an enriching experience to my life.

I am Hali Wetzel and I am very excited for the opportunity to apply for this position. I am passionate about working with young students, especially students learning English. I have a Bachelors of Arts in English from Northern Arizona University with a specific focus in linguistics, which has fueled my interest in teaching English to speakers of other languages. I have worked in classroom settings for nearly two years, both in the United States and abroad. I have taught English is an elementary school in Peru and worked in a kindergarten classroom in the United States. I have also worked with university level students in a classroom setting. Living and working in South Korea perfectly suits my passion for teaching English and my interest in exploring a new culture.

I believe in providing a style of education that sets students up for success. Teachers should provide students with the resources and passion to learn. This is especially critical in elementary school. Through modeling, guided practice, and hands-on education, I can provide students with the tools they need to successfully learn the English language. I have written lesson plans that are adjusted for different learners. I can adapt lessons and bring universal design for learning into the classroom. I work well with other teachers and students. Collaboration is very important in education and I can work well with other teachers and administrators. I am open to feedback and eager to grow as a teacher. I have had the luxury of having two teachers for parents, one being an English teacher, and I have just completed my degree at Saint Louis University. I studied philosophy primarily, and I think the skills that I gained in this discipline would translate well into a classroom setting. I understand that everyone comes from different backgrounds with different skill levels, so I would try to help make the classes as informative as possible while still being fun. I'm a fast learner, very analytically driven, and an easy person to be around. I understand that language is something that is always in flux, so I look forward to finding a position that would allow me to share my knowledge and experience with those who wish to learn.

I am a native English speaker and a British citizen who has recently graduated with a university degree and I have also completed a 168 hour TEFL course. I have a genuine interest in helping to broaden the minds of other people through teaching as I believe education is one of the most important aspects of people’s lives and learning a foreign language is an amazing opportunity to bring people together.
For the past year I have worked as a volunteer at the Polish Centre in my home city of Newcastle upon Tyne teaching Basic English to Polish immigrants who have started new lives in the United Kingdom. During my time as a union rep I was often required to give brief lectures on worker’s rights to new employees that started with the company I previously worked for. During my time as a student studying for my degree I was required to give numerous presentations to both academic and non-academic audiences explaining my research and experimental instructions for my dissertation and as well group discussions.

I have eight years experience in teaching. I am a very organised, creative and friendly person who always come to school prepared. I really enjoy the outdoors and I keep myself busy with art, reading, hiking or running if I am not teaching or preparing activities for the class.

I have coached tennis, hockey, athletics and soccer. Last year I was in charge of the decor for the school concert. I also did a First Aid course 3 years ago.

I am 20 years old, and have recently resigned from a job, which is meant for university graduates, to pursue a career in teaching English abroad.

With a great interest in pursuing a new change of career, I am currently in the process of completing the 150 Hours Tefl course Teaching in English Language with the possibility to start teaching in early February 2019.
I am a native English speaker and a citizen of UK, seeking for an opportunity to teach English to foreign students in their native country. Preferably in a major city in South Korea.
