As a teacher and colleague I am an effective communicator, delivering relevant information concisely and ensuring a more logical learning experience. The teaching experience I have had during my TEFL training and within my local church has shown me the importance of remaining adaptable and flexible in a learning environment, ensuring I offer my full attention to the students’ individual needs without becoming flustered or disorganised.

Further, I am an engaging teacher, interacting with students in a patient and empathetic manner, ensuring they have an approachable authority figure to turn to with their concerns. I am passionate about learning, having studied with many inspiring teachers, I understand the benefit of having a teacher who cares deeply about their work. I also understand the value of being organised, devoting time to pre-planning my work which allows for more time devoted to hands-on teaching, as well as for space to teach creatively.

As a person and as a teacher I am mindful of the fact that I will be interacting with students from a diverse age range and range of cultural backgrounds. My ability to be empathetic and understanding, showing respect towards people regardless of their gender, race, sexuality or disability is one of my greatest strengths, as it makes me approachable and gives people confidence in my openness and ability to relate to students. This will help me to be in tune with students’ hopes and fears, helping them towards a more holistic learning experience.

I have a BA Hons Degree in Spanish and German and Tefl Level 5 (168 hours) certification which I passed with distinction.

I am very keen to start my career as an English Language Teacher. I have had experience of working with younger students as a mentor and as a tutor in Spanish. The student I worked with had special educational needs so it was important to tailor the lesson plans to her individual skills and requirements. Such as breaking down tasks into manageable portions, with lots of visual and interactive work.

Having attended a specialist language school and worked with many teaching assistants I understand the importance of having an organised and methodical approach to teaching, whilst also recognising individual students skills, interests and abilities.

I have spent time in Mexico and Germany studying and would welcome the opportunity to teach in Japan, a country and culture that has always been of great interest to me. I am currently learning Korean by myself. As I have lived in different countries I feel I have the ability to adapt well and become accustomed to new situations and environments.

I'm a reliable, strong willed teacher who can forge a good relationship with any student. I care about education and learning, although my style in the classroom may be firm, I am also a fair teacher who will try their best with all placed under my care. I teach because I want students to achieve their potential.

The strengths that I hold are that I am a very ambitious and self-motivated individual. I have spent time on a work experience placement at a school in Kent in which I received excellent feedback. I also took part in the school mentoring programme between the ages of 16-18. This taught me how to cater to different students' needs and allowed me to experiment and perfect different teaching methods to ensure that my students achieved to the best of their abilities.

Furthermore, I spent time in the University Officer Training Corp in Canterbury. This taught me how to control and lead a group of up to thirty people in all manor of different environments, from a classroom, to a wooded area. This has given me a great deal of confidence in being able to explain difficult concepts in a concise and time effective manor, which I could translate into the classroom to allow students to achieve their full potential.

Finally, I have spent time working for my local Member of Parliament in Dorset. During my time working with my MP I was required to host debates and produce pieces of literature, such as leaflets, which would be posted to all constituents. This has given me great confidence in my ability to use proper grammar and punctuation as well as use a wide range of vocabulary.

I am a recent French and Spanish graduate from the University of Kent, United Kingdom. Languages have always been a big part of my life, as also being bilingual, I've always been interested in how different people that come from different backgrounds acquire a language. The experiences that I have lived have enabled me to have a great set of skills when coming to teaching languages. As a matter of fact, this year I had the chance of teaching Spanish to A-level students in preparation for their exams. My main skills were to prepare lessons, correct the homework set and help them improve accent and fluency while still understanding and acquiring new grammatical structures. Moreover, having lived in 4 different countries (Italy, England, Spain, France) I am confident that my linguistic and grammatical skills are of high standard. In fact, my past experiences have enabled me to acquire the correct skills and tips for learning and teaching a language, whether it is at a beginner, intermediate, advanced level to a range of different people. I’m a very organised and patient person, who takes time and care when explaining concepts and rules to pupils. This is a skills that I have also obtained over the years thanks to the multiple students that I tutored in French, Spanish and English and from which I received excellent feedback. I strongly believe that an individual achieves the best one can when stimulated, which is why I like to use several techniques in order to keep the student focused and the session interesting and fun.
As for personality, as already mentioned I am very organised and patient. I am bubbly and outgoing, always searching new things to discover. I like to interact with new people and learn new things about their culture and city and for this I believe that having the possibility to teach in South Korea would be an incredible experience.

I enjoy hiking and exploring in my free time and I am also an avid book reader, with a penchant for classics.

I am a passionate, results oriented teacher who has been teaching for the past two years. During this time I’ve created lessons that involve a variety of fun activities that challenge kids and allow me to assess their progress. While working at my current job I was given the opportunity to do demonstration lessons for parents which helped me understand how to work with children I’ve never met before. I was very successful at the demonstrations and during the month of April 2019, at a campus of seven foreign teachers, I was responsible for half of all sign ups. I’m very detailed oriented: we mostly use group and paired activities but I always try to incorporate independent activities so I can make sure the students actually know the material. I think competition can really help students out a lot. If they believe that they are thriving and winning then they will take responsibility for their learning. Besides these things try to keep the class disciplined while everyone is having fun. It’s fun to work with kids, you should keep it lighthearted.
