Qualifications Summary:​ Taught English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) in Seoul, Ilsan, and Daejeon in South Korea, in Fukui City in Japan, and in Washington, D.C. and Silver Spring, Maryland in the United States of America. Something I have always wished to do is to help others. Being able to share knowledge with others and gain a lot in return, excites me. Seeing people being happy and knowing I was the reason for their happiness, is something I always dreamt of.

I have a strong desire for teaching. Being interested in a lot of foreign tv shows, films and music, I knew that languages would be the area I would like to teach in. I recently completed a TEFL 120 hour certificate and would love to put the knowledge I have gained from studying, into practice, gain valuable experience, and become who I have always wished to become.

I have work experiences of helping out in a nursery and a primary school. Those experiences opened my eyes to the world of teaching and gave me a desire to want to teach. Seeing the teachers at the primary school teaching, and seeing the children's joy and happiness about learning new things, made me happy and motivated. I have two nephews who are of primary school age. Asking them about what they have learned at school, and seeing them talk happily and positively about their teachers further adds to the passion and desire that I have to help others, specifically, through teaching.

I have some knowledge of the South Korean culture, by watching tv shows, listening to music, reading websites and forums for around 2 years and as such have been very interested in visiting the country. Being able to not only visit, but to work in South Korea is a once in a lifetime opportunity and to have that opportunity, excites me. I have also recently started learning Korean and would love the opportunity to see the language being used/gain knowledge first-hand.

What I would bring to teaching are my best qualities, kindness, patience, optimism and always having a smile on my face. Being a teacher is not easy, it is something I am prepared to work hard to become, and is something I wish to do for the rest of my life.

I am friendly, easy-going, very easy to work with, passionate about everything I do, and I love meeting new people. I have a great attention to detail, love learning new things, diligent, a great multi-tasker and very patient. My skills include computer skills, many hours of research based work, problem solving, extensive writing and reading skills, professional speaking, and deep knowledge of interpersonal relations.

I have fantastic interpersonal and communication skills which allow me to get on and connect with people from all walks of life. I am very independent and can easily adapt to new work places and surroundings I work brilliantly as part of a team and also have the ability to work on my own and use my own initiative. I have worked in a number of different Finance contracts, and I have also completed my 140 hour Tefl certificate in my own time. I have always been very passionate about teaching and the English language has always been my favourite subject, from when I was a student myself till now

My strengths are micro-managing and organizing small projects and groups of students or teachers with clear objectives and goals in mind. I work to execute positive results and expected outcomes as an educator and professional. I enjoy being part of a team with other educators with similar goals and objectives in mind. I believe I would be an asset to your team as an ESL instructor for other educators with a combined total of over 4 years of educational experience at all age levels.
Futhermore, I have one year of teaching experience at GnB English Gimhae and Jangju campus as well as 2 years of teaching experience at Bewegung kindergarten in Busan. I returned to South Africa in 2018 where I worked as an Public High school teacher at P.J Oliver Art Center and continued to work at Jack Meyer Art Center in the beginning of 2019. Recently I’ve been working as an apprentice in Children Minstry at Christ Church Stellenbosch.

Lastly, I hold a bachelors degree in Visual Arts Fine Arts and a masters in Visual Arts Education from the University of Stellenbosch South Africa. I look forward to setting up a mutual convenient time to have an interview in person.

As an excellent communicator and presenter, I’m now seeking to apply my skills in a second career as a teacher of English. While working in corporate America the past 5 years, I’ve taught several classes, conducted countless presentations, and trained new hires one-on-one. I’ve worked voluntarily with youth the past 3 years, so I know a bit about how to keep kids interested and learning. In addition to the skills I learned while obtaining my Bachelor of Science, I also learned how to create meaningful lessons and activities while earning my TEFL. Certification.

While I am new to EFL instruction, I have much to offer you and your students, including:

I I am Rhiannon Croker, a 23-year old English Literature graduate. I am currently studying a part-time distant MA in Humanitarian Action, whereby I liaise with group members across the world. I have a desire to learn, travel and immerse myself in different cultures. I feel as though this role is the perfect fit.

I have a 120-hour TEFL qualification, which I obtained in 2014 and since then, have taught in Romania and at an international summer school called SAMIAD in the UK. I am very experienced working directly with children, which I have gained through various work experience and volunteering. I have assisted with learning experiences when I volunteered at the Story Museum in Oxford. I helped run educational workshops for children between the ages of 4 and 10. My role was to escort the students around the exhibitions, show them how to interact with the exhibits and also run little focus groups where we wrote stories, rhymes and sang with musical instruments. Proceeding this, I helped run an arts and crafts workshop, whereby students would make informative posters about their favourite books using collages. I undertook a similar role when I volunteered at the House of Illustration in London and at the Salisbury Playhouse, whereby I designed table tops that are still present in the main foyer. Whilst at the Story Museum, I was a steward at Oxford Literary festival and also a steward on mornings dedicated to children with learning difficulties, so that they could immerse themselves in a quiet and more serene environment. I have had experience in the teaching environment, which I practiced whilst working in Romania as an English Teacher and at SAMIAD international summer school in Trent. In Romania, although the camp was comprised of mainly privileged children, the organisation sponsored some children from various orphanages. In my class I had an orphaned boy from Brasov, of whom needed a different care plan. It was my responsibility to implement this care plan and to see that it was performed, of which I managed successfully. At SAMIAD, I taught students from all over the world including China, Russia and the Ivory Coast. When I volunteered at the Salisbury Journal, I helped lead Stage 65, the internal Youth Group. This was a fun, supportive community group with young people aged 4-25. Every member was given a role within the plays. In 2017 South Wilts Mencap awarded the Salisbury Playhouse organisation the Betty Williams Award for going the extra mile for people with learning disabilities and making them feel included. Currently, I work part-time as a residential support worker with unaccompanied asylum seeking children and young care leavers, of whom are placed in semi-independent living. I encourage them to go to college, attend extra curricular and to acquire life skills, such as cooking, budgeting, travelling etc.
