I have worked at my church club for four years. The club is called Adventurers and Pathfinders. I taught the younger groups of 4-5 year olds and it was very rewarding. We mostly teach them outdoor skills and about the bible.

I have also worked on a summer camp in Pennsylvania America. I worked with all age groups and again it was very rewarding. The best part of the job was working with the different children who came every week.

I have a TEFL 130 hr certificate and I was able to do in person classes and gain experience from that before COVID truly hit the UK.

I am an enthusiastic individual with a strong desire to learn new skills and work in new challenging environments. I have worked in the tourist industry for a few years as a tour guide. I worked at Glenfiddich and Cardhu distilleries, conducting guided tours and speaking to large groups of people, teaching them about the whisky making process.

I am conscientious and I can be relied upon to support my team. My main skills are communication, team work, and adaptability. All of which I demonstrated in my previous role as a tour guide. Over lockdown I have worked as a production runner, assisting photographers and producers in a fast paced environment.

In my free time I enjoy drone photography, hill climbing, and traveling.

My academic training and eight years of experience teaching K-12 students and adults in a variety of settings, as well as university students preparing for graduate school admission, has prepared me to be a highly effective instructor. In addition to teaching English Language Arts at a charter school in Baltimore, I am also the Gifted and Talented Learners Lead. Moreover, as a former English teacher in New York City and Korea, I have experience teaching a diverse, tech-savvy student base.

Beyond my teaching expertise, I also have written several papers on the issue of ENL/TESOL education, both in the United States and globally. My research has informed my instruction, which allows me to better serve my students by understanding the unique position of a diverse student body. I have extensive experience incorporating community outreach into my classroom and my curriculum. For example, as an ELA teacher, I led a mini-unit on civil rights, using my knowledge in educational theory and differentiated learning. From those lessons, my students spent some time writing letters to their congressional leaders, advocating for more responsive leadership. Also, while teaching in Korea, I developed speaking lessons to aid my students in applying for jobs in the United States and Australia, mainly based on the TOEIC and IELTS exams. I truly love discovering ways to integrate cultural relevance into my lesson plans, and would like to continue this process.

It is my goal to combine my range of experiences with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, intelligent teacher who will make a positive contribution. After receiving my Masters in Education, I became not only proficient in the practical aspects of teaching, but also the more technical concepts. I’m Carmen and I’m from Cape Town, South Africa. I’m 32 years old and have been teaching English since 2018.

I have experience teaching children of all ages and adults. I have a BA degree and I’m TESOL certified.

I am passionate about teaching and eager to help all my students achieve all their goals. I would like to make a career out of teaching and I aim to obtain my teaching license next year.

I am a hardworking yet kind hearted teacher. I am very open and positive, which I believe has been one of my greatest strengths as an English Language teacher. I tend to allow students to express themselves – giving them the confidence to make mistakes here and there, before carefully and appropriately correcting them.

I am a cheerful person, who loves seeing others happy. I also am a very relaxed and easy listener – which many have described as refreshing. In terms of skills, other than attentive social skills and awareness, I am becoming quite an experienced English language teacher. I am also a creative writer and author in my spare time, and I enjoy writing short stories.

A joy and passion working with children and adults. Experience educating in my local aquarium with tour sizes from 4-20 students and ages ranging from 3 years old to college students. Teaching topics would include species identification, adaptations, habitat, water quality and conservation. Organization, patience and time management are skills that I excel in.

My most recent experience in teaching is when I taught English in Shenzhen, China to 4-6 year olds from sept 2019 to Jan 2020. I have gained many skills though this, most notably my confidence, when teaching those at a young age its important to make the lessons fun with games and songs, so I had to let go of insecurities like 'looking silly'. The second most important skill I learnt was patience, I had a class of around 23, all at different stages in the English language development, not only did I have to be patient with those who lacked behind, but I also had to be flexible in ensuring those who were at a higher level were still engaged with the lesson.
I perform well in stressful situations, and find it easy to work with my colleagues. I love to explore and experience new things, and I'm not afraid to throw myself into new environments for example, when I arrived in China, it was the first time I had ever been abroad! Despite this, I was able to adapt very easily to the new culture and climate.
I have a deep passion for teaching and the rewarding feeling of seeing my students succeed.

I have come to a path in my life where I want to pursue something I’m passionate about doing which would be teaching children. I had research and looked into TEFL courses which would help me take the step in the correct direction for my goal. I have since completed my TEFL course (December 2019) which has helped push my personal growth and development.

I pride myself on being a helpful person, a go to person who people feel comfortable to be around and able to provide look after student’s development. I do truly believe that to keep attention of young students that learning and classes need to be fun but also able to work hard when it is needed. I believe I would make a great teacher and help benefit a school.

My teaching philosophy is I want children to enjoy learning, come away from a lesson happy and knowing they have learnt something that day. By being a positive person, I want to make students feel confidence when learn are new language and grammar. I understand that some children might not need to use English but it will always beneficial to them as it is a language which is used almost every.

My strengths are that I am determined to succeed, to push myself and help out others. I've done over two years of voluntary work and this has motivated me to pursue a career in which I can help others. I believe that teaching would give me the best opportunity to do so. I can adapt to new environments pretty easy but also know when to ask for help and advice when needed.

I've also been a camp counselor in the United States, in which I mainly looked after children at the ages of 10 to 11 years old. This experience made me realise how amazing it is to help a kid grow, to help them solve their problems and create an environment in which they could improve as a person. It's motivated me to pursue it full time as it was a highly rewarding job. I also want to have a change in my life, to experience a culture as wonderful as South Korea and explore the country and meet the people whilst I'm there.

I have always felt that travelling is my passion. So I cannot help but think the opportunity to become an English Teacher abroad is the perfect place for me. South Korean culture has always fascinated me. It started when I discovered Kpop to the amazing food to then meeting some of the kindest Korean people at university.

Fast forward to 2017, I graduated with a 2:1 from Manchester Metropolitan University in Computing. Outside my academics, I also worked part-time as Front of House and played Badminton and Volleyball in my spare time. Currently, I am a UX Research Executive at a company called Dentsu International with 3+ years of experience. During this period, I sharpened my qualities as a researcher as well as my communication, time management and interpersonal skills. I am always keen to enhance and develop more qualities as a teacher. Therefore, I took the next step by starting a 120 TEFL course to help me prepare and initiate my new adventure in South Korea.

I believe my background in user experience and previous hospitality roles would provide value by adding a unique perspective when it comes to teaching. I am a fast and enthusiastic learner, ready to become part of the school.
