ESL Teachers

I currently work in one of the most competitive industries in the UK, the Financial Services Industry. This experience has shaped my knowledge and skills hugely. For example, I manage large projects to bring new business opportunities, which require high levels of dedication, hard work and creativity. I believe that these skills are transferable to a teaching position as I will be looking after various students and it is my responsibility to ensure they are progressing educationally. Therefore, I would need to put a specific set of skills together to make this happen, such as the skills mentioned previously.

Furthermore, I can adapt well when faced with change. This is because I see this from a positive point of view in that change can present a new learning opportunity. I take the same outlook when faced with issues and in fact, I tend to keep my cool as this will keep me focused to find a solution. Overall, I can manage different situations with confidence, and I am aware that being a teacher can bring various situations on a day-to-day basis.

I grew up bilingual, speaking both English and French, and have always loved languages, as I believe they are a way to open yourself to a new culture and experiences.
Having studied abroad, I have experienced English lessons as a native speaker, and had an outside understanding of how ESL classes are conducted.
I studied English language, litterature and civilisation at University and then went on to complete a TEFL certification with TEFL.org. Although I have not taught English to students (outside of the TEFL course) yet, I have experience with working with children as a dance teacher.
I am a friendly and compassionate person, and although I can seem quiet when I first meet new people, I adapt very quickly to new situations.

Hi this is Antonella. I am fun-loving, friendly and goal-oriented. Striking a conversation with a stranger can be fun and engaging that works easy for me. Learning another culture and language interests me the most. And this lead me to cultivate my passion in Teaching English. For more than 15 years now, my extensive career in online ESL teaching gave me the opportunity to hone my skills with the following Certifications: TESOL certified Educator and TEFL with TEYL.
I also love to travel. Having a conversation or just meeting new people of different backgrounds can be fun and engaging as well. My personality speaks of being inspired to face up to challenges and adhere to enhance my capabilities and skills in teaching my favorite subject that is English. I make sure each class is fun and engaging. The greatest achievement si when a student, regardless of level (Elementary, Middle and High School, University and Professionals) would email or acknowledge my efforts when they give their Praise reports – “Teacher, I passed my English test! / I did it – Take one in IELTS with a score of 6.5 or 7. And this is more than rewarding for me as an e-Educator.
During my spare time, you would find me in the kitchen preparing a dish or a meal for my family and some friends. Long drives to the beach is what I love the most and I make sure that this happens once every month. Lastly, I find pleasure in making new friends and having a healthy lifestyle. But most important is spending quality time for yourself and those you love. Carpe Diem – Seize the day.

I have taught English formally in a school setting (Italian students) in the past and more recently on-line with both Chinese and Korean students.

I am a British citizen, so a native English speaker, and also a university graduate with a B.A. Honours Degree in History.
My academic qualifications also include GCSE O-Level and A-Level in English Language.

I have travelled extensively in the past, including periods living and working in both the USA – New York State and New Jersey – for 6 months and also in Germany – Berlin – for 2 years.
So I am quite comfortable living outside of my own culture and can adapt to new environments easily.

Being a mature professional with a lot of life experience, I can bring this as a benefit to any teaching environment.

I also have a lot of work experience, 29 years working the in the NHS – the Health Service in England, so I am used to being organised, responsible and prioritising my time and workload. These are all qualities I can bring to any teaching role.

I have been a grade 6 teachers assistant and a private Mathematics tutor. As a teachers assistant I helped plan lessons and graded tests and exams. I enjoy teaching children as well as young adults. I really enjoy seeing my students excel and become more confident in learning and using English. My strengths are that I am organized, patient and I love to use creative teaching techniques that include singing and dancing.

As a former tutor and dance instructor, I have a lot of experience in interacting with young students. I maintained positive relationships with the parents and caretakers of my students, and still am in contact with several of them. I'm extremely adept at breaking the barrier between student and instructor, creating a learning environment in which my students are able to be comfortable asking questions and growing. In general, I believe it is important for students to enjoy the education process, as it'll make them be excited to return and cause them to become invested in their own education. My personality as a teacher is geared towards this, as I truly want my students to be able to grow.

I am a hardworking and reliable person, who strives to complete every task to a high standard and quality. The knowledge and experience I have gained from working at a Middle School and two different Elementary Schools’ for a year has equipped me with a range of skills that allow me to thrive. Such as, excellent time keeping and a high level of commitment, together with an organized and enthusiastic approach to work. I enjoy being kept busy whether working alone using my own initiative or as a key member within a busy team.

I have a 9 months teaching experience, it has been an amazing 9 months of my life and challenging at the same time.

This past year I graduated with three degrees in English, International Studies, and Japanese Studies. All three of these degrees have enhanced my skill set in a way that would greatly benefit an ESL instructor. My English degree honed my understanding of the English language, my International Studies degree nurtured an appreciation for and desire to learn more about cultures outside of my own, and my Japanese Studies degree gave me a first hand grasp on what it means to be a student of a second language. Ultimately, my studies provided me with both the tools and the empathy necessary to be an ESL instructor abroad.

Beyond my educational background, I also have spent the past year as an English instructor to children aged 6-11. I teach several courses ranging from Elementary English to Speechwriting and Storytelling. Since my lessons are remote, I am able to give lessons to students outside of the country including one student I teach who is from Malaysia. These experiences as an instructor have given invaluable insight into what it means to be an English instructor, as well as what it means to be an English instructor for students who come from countries where English is not the primary language.

In my free time I enjoy traveling. One of my favorite travel experiences was to South Korea. I was lucky enough to spend a summer abroad in South Korea while taking courses at Yonsei University. I managed to spend some time traveling around the country and enjoyed the experience immensely. This trip also has prepared me for the next time I am in the country, in respect to cultural differences and possible struggles as a foreigner staying in Korea.
