As a 2020 graduate of the University of Johannesburg, I have teaching experience in the intermediate, FET and Senior Phase in both suburban and urban schools. I believe my teaching experience, passion for community engagement and love for innovation make me an ideal candidate for being an online teacher.
Miss Shoniwa has experience in teaching both high school and primary school level. I have acquired skills for both public and private institutions. Having completed my school practical at the high schools I interacted with, I grew to learn that the school is one that promotes diversity and as on working closely with the learners of the school by improving their skills and knowledge to make them individuals that would be able to contribute to our society and be independent. I am eager to be amongst a staff that has a great team of hard-working team players and supportive staff.
I would like to work for your school as I have the skills of good time management, great communication, capable of facilitating a good lesson according to the curriculum, learners age, interests, and motivations, and I am computer literate. Since the learners are on an online platform, I follow the approach that links daily routines into learning of which that makes learners feel involved and encouraged to use the language spontaneously and freely integrate the language into their everyday lives.

A postgraduate with an International Relations MA in Human Rights and Global Ethics from the University of Leicester having achieved a First-Class honours degree in BA International Relations and History from the same University.

I possess prior EFL experience working overseas as an English teacher for young learners in Thailand between October 2022 and May 2023.
In addition to this I worked in Felsted International Summer School as a Global Studies Teacher for international students throughout the month of July 2023.

I am very passionate about teaching and find working to teach English to young people to be an extremely rewarding experience. I would also love to immerse myself in a new country and culture and I believe that South Korea is a place I could really feel at home.

I have two years of teaching children that have been diagnosed with Autism. I have taught said children everything from reading and writing to basic daily living skills. I also have five years of teaching in general as a VIP Kid teacher. I am a kind person who has a lot of patience. I am Microsoft Office proficient and can type 60 words per minute.

I am inspired to teach by my love of learning and communicating, and by the reward of helping others to develop their understanding of the world and their ability to express ideas, as well as for personal and professional development.

Studying philosophy and history, planning career and further studies options, and extensive wider thinking and reading developed my ability to understand, organise and communicate complex ideas clearly. Teaching English as a foreign language and charity fundraising work taught me the importance of clear communication, enthusiasm, exemplary body language, and frequent praise and encouragement. Proofreading and social media evaluation roles developed my sense checking and correction skills.

I love creating and developing lessons and educational materials that inspire and enable students to think, to connect the curriculum to the modern world and to their everyday experiences, and to develop cognitively and intellectually. I understand the value of helping students to structure their ideas and to organise their work with access to plenty of resources to help them to prepare for exams. I value not 'levelling-down' learning by providing sufficiently complex ideas, but balancing this with taking care with differentiation and to not leave any student behind.

Whilst volunteering as a Teaching Assistant, I acknowledged a student's interests and skill in an expressive piece of their writing and encouraged them to develop their ideas. Feeling that I had enthused them and boosted their self-confidence was a rewarding experience which boosted my self-esteem. It also reminded me that everyone is trying their best and of the value of recognising and supporting each individual's interests, efforts, skills and challenges. Whilst covering an English class, I noticed that asking students what they thought the characters in George Orwell's Animal Farm represented stopped them from talking and misbehaving as they began to focus their thinking and to learn.

Complex, verbal communication intensive environments motivate me and help me to focus. I am diligently self-analytical, and I am keen to develop my communication and class management skills as well as my understanding of diverse issues in education.

Work Experience: Freelance – Translator and Proof-reader. Compliance Manager, Interim HR Manager and Office Manager at an Engineering Company. Manager of the Engineering company’s other division. I worked abroad on cruise ships as a Documentation Purser and Sales Representative – for 5 years. I have experience as a Call Center Agent, Personal Assistant, Assistant Manager and Chef.

I have taught dance to university students for 4 years but have not taught English before.
I work hard and excel in leadership. I have always been good at English and learning languages in general, and I am curious to see if the sense of achievement and being proud of the students is the same as when I was teaching dance. I am familiar with South Korea's culture as I have been exposed to it through media and Korean friends for years. I adapt and improve quickly. I can be both strict and relaxed depending on the situation.

I have close to four years experience teaching at kinder, primary and elementary level.
My personality is suitable to teaching as I have a kind and approachable demeanor. I want students to feel that they can come to me about their struggles and insecurities. My goal is always to motivate them and encourage learning. At the same time I am able to set boundaries and assert control over my classroom.
In terms of skills, I have a background in English writing and editing so I am capable of guiding students to better writing and am easily able to spot mistakes and offer ways to improve on them. I often read blogs on teaching styles, classroom management and other teacher tips to see where I can improve on my own skills.

I'm a highly skilled teacher with exceptional experience in teaching and dedication. I teach English, mathematics, and science online and I also do contact learning on weekends. In my lessons, I focus on grammar, articulation, and pronunciation to keep English conversation at a better level. I can handle unexpected circumstances, ensure good communication with my students, prioritize discipline, help students who don't perform well in class, and promote bilingual language. In my classes, we learn with confidence and enthusiasm. I use different lesson plans such as presentation practice production (PPP), test teach the test, task-based learning, and student talk time. I'm very insistent and consistent in my classes to reach my target language.

My attention to detail in contract drafting ensures precision and clarity in legal documents, providing the utmost protection for my client's interests.
