As a new teacher, I am enthusiastic to begin a new adventure in Korea. I am eager to learn about the rich culture, diverse traditions, beliefs, practices and history. In my short time on this planet, I have learnt that I love learning about different cultures and environments. As a South African living and educated in South Africa, I am surrounded by many different cultures and am thus very aware of cultural implications. This is advantageous in a school system as it can aid in teaching practices. I am able to discern how different cultural implications may affect and influence learners when they are in the midst of forming their own unique personalities, perceptions of the world and interactions with others.

I have a passion for English, which I aim to share through teaching. I can easily adapt to the changing world and environment. This will enable me to adapt my methods of teaching to meet each students’ unique needs, as each child’s development and learning processes are different. Learners are still navigating the world around them, and that does not change when they are in a classroom environment. I aim to utilize my Psychology and English degree and TEFL course, in a classroom of learners, in a creative and fun way and enable my students to advance in their knowledge which will open endless opportunities for them in the workplace, in the future.

I have a strong work ethic and good organisational, communication and creative skills. I am interested in people, language, expanding my knowledge and personal growth.

I am a friendly, patient, caring person who loves working with people. I have strong analytical, communication, adaptability and time management skills which I believe make me a great fit for this role.

I have previous experience working in a team and leading training sessions with colleagues, as well as volunteer experience teaching English to students in Indonesia.

I do not have teaching experience but I have been a finance manager.

I enjoy working with people and leading them to a desired outcome. I am a patient and kind person which I believe are important traits for someone who is looking to become a teacher abroad.

I have good computer and research skills. As someone who has been an accountant for the past 5 years I tend to be hard working, detail orientated and committed to my goals but also to helping others achieve theirs.

My experience spans across the formal education and non-formal education sector. I have been educating young people between the ages of 8 to 25 for over 6 years now in a variety of topic areas. Between 2018 and 2020 I was a teaching assistant at secondary school within the SEN department, supporting students with additional needs in topic areas like their reading, writing, maths and social skills. From 2019 to now I have worked in a variety of charities supporting young people with their future careers and developing life skills, as a youth worker, project coordinator and project manager. These roles require me to maintain connections with schools and colleges, as the outcomes within the projects have been to ensure young people enter education or employment.

Through both formal and non-formal educational avenues it has been my role to plan, prepare, deliver and review educational workshops relating to the areas I have mentioned above, so I have vast experience in being able to support groups of classes. As an individual I am extremely positive and enthusiastic, and my energy is contagious so the students and other teaching colleagues I work with will feel that energy which helps create a fun, engaging and inclusive environment.

Other key skills and attributes worth noting here are that I am a very adaptable person which is very important in a classroom setting, I am quick to realise when something needs changing based on the wider group needs. Beyond my practical experience in delivering classroom based work, I possess great non practical skills such as administration, creating resources, utilising systems and generally being organised and proactive with my work.

I believe I would excel as a teacher in South Korea because am a dedicated and versatile educator, with extensive experience as a teaching assistant as well as a teacher for two years in mainstream schools as well as children with special educational needs. I am a native speaker from the United Kingdom with clear and understandable speech. Io also have a PGCE in Primary Education, an MA and MSc plus a TEFL 120-hour certificate.

I am seeking full-time work and willing to move earlier if successful in obtaining the role.

I set high expectations which inspire and motivate and promote good progress and outcomes and plan and teach well-structured lessons, adapting my teaching to the needs and strengths of all pupils.
