I have a strong background in communication, organization, and leadership through my experience in customer-facing retail roles and multiple internships in fast-paced, professional environments. I would like to be considered for a Full Time Elementary Teacher Position in Seoul. I saw your recruitment listing on the TFL Academy website.

I am a mature teacher, from the UK, who has been working at SLP Gwanggyo for the past 18 months, where, I have been teaching Kindergarten and Elementary. I enjoy seeing how young minds adapt to learning a language, that as a British subject, am passionate about. I enjoy using stories and immersive teaching as well as other ‘child friendly’ activities, to highlight how the English language has evolved and works. I believe story books in particular, are one of the most important tools that any child should have access to. I like to use creative activities such as art and play, to encourage children to enjoy learning and to expand their horizons.

I started working for SLP Gwanggyo in March 2024, and although I have a deep connection and attachment to many of the children in the school, I feel now is the right time to consider the next stage in my teaching journey. This is my second year of teaching 5-year-old Kindergarten children and Elementary, who now, with the help of my Korean co-teacher, are becoming more confident and beginning to understand the dynamics of the English language.

Children are an integral part of our society, and I enjoy opening up young minds to the possibility the World may hold for them. As a mother of four grown up children myself, all of whom I have encouraged to be the best they can be and who have consequently all succeeded in their ambitions, I understand how important the full spectrum of education is.

I feel that I have a lot to offer a school and more importantly, young learners, in learning the English language.

My name is Ella Galmot-Kerr and I am a French–British teacher, fluent in English, French, and Italian. I hold a First-Class Honours degree from UCL and bring a strong foundation of teaching experience to this role. I worked for six months in France as an English Teaching Assistant, helping high school children build confidence and fluency through interactive, supportive lessons. Over the past three years, I have also tutored IB (International Baccalaureate) students online with Lanterna, developing personalised learning plans and delivering engaging, results-driven sessions. I am now completing my TEFL qualification to further formalise my skills. I am patient, enthusiastic, and committed to creating a positive and motivating learning environment for every student.
