My personality is very outgoing, I am not afraid to meet new people and be confident. I like to think this is an asset when moving overseas as these qualities aid in the process of settling in and making new friends. I am very patient and compassionate, I show great care in my work and for the people I work with. I allow people to feel comfortable around me and for them to let their guard down so as relax and be themselves.
I have previously studied at Deakin University in Australia receiving a degree in Arts, majoring in Contemporary History and Gender and Sexuality Studies. I have a passion for history and cultural studies as I can see the real effects of past events in todays society. Every action taken whether from a small uprising or a major global event is the reason the world is the way it is today. I am constantly reading and analysing historical literature; as well as feminist literature, to understand the attitudes and actions of those throughout history.
I have experience in coaching young kids in netball (commonwealth sport) as well as gymnastics. One was paid employment and the other was on a volunteers basis. I am confident in teaching children and allowing them to learn and grow in their own time. They too teach me about enjoying the little things in life and about having fun. I more recently coached in gymnastics and it was here at this job that I decided to move overseas to teach children abroad. I enjoyed coaching, however, I feel I know more about English and cultural studies to be a confident and successful teacher.

All of my work experiences have influenced and strengthened my skills to approach people from all walks of life. For example, in terms of employment history, I have worked as a support worker which allowed me to help older vulnerable people and young vulnerable people. It strengthened my communication skills along with my time management. I have also worked as a receptionist and leisure assistant at the Mercure Grand Hotel in Bristol, my time in this employment pushed me into meeting the needs of every hotel guest, especially families. I was always making sure that children using facilities were safe and as well as having a memorable experience at the hotel. All my employments have polished my skills of working in a team as well as individually. I never shy away from any challenge and I take efficiency, professionalism as well as a strong work ethic very seriously.

During my educational career at university, I volunteered for a programme called “StreetLaw”, this programme focused on educating and encouraging young children finishing higher education into pursuing a career in Law and studying the subject at University. This programme focused on children from low income families and children who would be the first of their families to attend university. I really valued this experience as I come from a low income family myself, as well as being the first in my family to attend university. I had so much passion for this programme as I could see the impact of pursuing education had on young children. This experience enhance my communication skills, presenting, managing young children's needs and safety. I also learnt to adapt my hard work ethic into something relatable for young children, I was able to make the experience for them not only educationally but fun as well. This would motivate the children to finish the programme and get the most out of the information provided for them aout university so they would be able to make an informed opinion. The programme has rightly prepared me into taking a step further into a career of educating children and being a fundamental pillar of the education careers.

I am very energetic and ready to pursue every challenge with hard work and discipline, which was developed due to my family dynamics. Having two younger brothers, I was always aware of what each child needs and how their personalities affect that, especially when considering age ranges. So I was made emotionally aware and I have also developed the strength to take on burdens of others in order to improve.

I am a recent English Language Masters Degree graduate, looking to use my Level 5 TEFL for the first time. I am passionate about language, and excited at the opportunity to develop my language teaching skills further within this role. While this would be my first TEFL role, my academic skills in studying English Language and Linguistics give me plenty of excellent experience and knowledge regarding how English can be taught. Furthermore, I have experience in teaching school children in the UK sport and extracurricular activities for a number of years, so I am comfortable with teaching and working with children. I am extremely interested in learning more about Korean culture and lifestyle and look forward to experiencing the beautiful scenic country and people.
