I completed my Bachelor's degree in Sociology in 2020 and went on to complete a 120-hour TEFL course shortly after. I have always wanted to work with children and during my time in school I completed a weeks work experience at my local primary school, assisting teachers in their classrooms. It was here that I gained my understanding of why people choose to teach; simple tasks such as encouraging a child to tackle a hard word in a book they're reading can have the biggest impact, and there is nothing like seeing the look of accomplishment on a child face once they get it right. I feel that my passion for helping others, taking on new challenges and the skills I have acquired whilst completing my degree and TEFL course make me the ideal candidate for this role.

I believe that I have a good combination of skills and experience that will ensure that I will succeed at teaching English as a foreign language. I believe that I will be an asset to any classroom. I recently completed a 120-hour TEFL qualification alongside my bachelor's undergraduate degree. I studied anthropology, which allowed me to develop my interest in different cultures, and appreciate cultures different from my own British upbringing. This has allowed me to become more open minded, and passionate about various cultures and traditions, which is why I believe that I will flourish as a teacher in South Korea.

I am enthusiastic, outgoing, and confident in my abilities. I work well in a team, but also thrive on my own, organising activities that ensure that the children receive the best education. I have previous experience working with kindergarten age children (3-5 years old), and I enjoy facilitating their growth and understanding of a topic. I worked with these young children as a play facilitator in a nursery, where I assisted in running activities and free play time for the children to explore and contribute to their own education. I believe strongly that younger children have incredible minds which can be guided, to ensure that the children grow to their fullest potential.

During my secondary education, I was a prefect and mentor to younger students, and organised one-on-one literacy tutoring, with students that needed more assistance with their reading and speaking skills; I believe that this experience will lend itself well to teaching English to students, as I already have experience surrounding tutoring in the English language, alongside the certified 120-hour TEFL qualification. I am patient, and care about the development of each child, and I believe strongly in ensuring a good education for all children.

Since graduating from university with a second-class bachelor of science degree, I have been living and working in Liverpool, a city that is known as the culture capitol of the United Kingdom. I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people and talking to them, understanding their lives and being able to connect on a human level, and share experiences and cultures. This is the reason why I strongly wish to teach English in South Korea. I am so excited at the prospect of immersing myself in the culture, and experiencing all that South Korea can offer, from rich cultural traditions, to beautiful landscapes and delicious food!

As a person, I believe that I have a wide range of experience in both academia and in a professional capacity. Having completed a degree in psychology with honours, I have learnt a lot about different cultures as well as human behaviour. In my final year, I conducted my own piece of research which involved collecting, analysing and compiling data into a final research project which demanded good time management and work discipline.

As well as my degree, I believe I have an outstanding mix of work experience which will aid me well as a teacher in Korea! I have worked as a special needs camp counsellor in the United States for 3 months, which involved not only running camp activities but also physical and emotional care work for both children and adults. We had a mix of people with physical and mental special needs throughout the summer, with a weekly turnaround of campers. During the summer, I worked in a team of 5 counsellors and have learnt valuable teamwork skills. I also took part in a leadership course at the start of the summer to return as a unit leader for my cabin, which gave me excellent evaluative and assessment skills.
This was a challenging job, as well as being in another country for a significant amount of time and has given me valuable experiences that will aid me in all walks of life. I am certain that I can bring what I have learnt at camp to the classroom and encourage creative ways of learning!

I have also worked as a sales associate part-time for the last 2.5 years at Superdry in the centre of Liverpool, and more recently also joined the LEGO store part time for the last 6 months. Working full-time hours over two jobs has been challenging but has granted me with good time management. I have gained more experience from engaging with both children and adults in both clothing and toy retail, and with the experience I had as a camp counsellor, I believe can make me a well-rounded English teacher.

Personality wise, I am very open minded with a passion for learning about other cultures and experiences! I have a varied number of hobbies including outdoor rock climbing, computer programming, football and playing the guitar. I would love to live and work in Korea, with not just teaching others but also learning about Korean culture and tradition myself.

I am very passionate about education and working with children. Teaching is a career that I stumbled upon but found great enjoyment and growth. I am super inquisitive and always go above the call of duty which is how I became head teacher and mentor at my previous school. I am also very patient as I feel to be an educator you need to have this personality trait in order for students to not fear you and feel comfortable.

As a qualified Social Worker, i have worked with children and adults in many different settings, from schools, to prison, court and hospitals doing group as well as individual work. I am Naturally empathetic and easily adaptable. I taught in China for one year and loved the experience of learning about a different culture and sharing my knowledge as esl teacher.

I consider myself as a polite, confident and well mannered individual with a desire to succeed. I have a positive attitude not only in my work ethic but also in general and always ready to work as a team member. I can approach all situations in a professional manner and instilled confidence in those around me. During my online teaching training experience i have gained valuable experience that will be of great use in the classrooms, i have gained to be patient and understanding, but also calm when dealing with difficult classroom situations and how to deal with them.

Though this is my first year in South Korea as a teacher, I have been teaching both in and out of the classroom for the past 7 years.

I obtained my ESL certification in 2015 and have since travelled abroad to teach before coming to South Korea. I developed a passion for teaching after completing a summer program in Puebla, Mexico where I taught English and French to children and adults of all ages. This was my first classroom experience and I loved making connections with my students- watching them grow and become proud and confident in their progress.

I find myself to be a very easy-going person that gets along well with others, and I manage my time wisely. I am very detailed oriented, and adapt well to new situations.
