My name is Lethuxolo Ndalenhle Thomo, but most people call me ‘Lethu’. I am from South Africa. I recently completed my postgraduate studies in Political Science with an undergraduate degree in Humanities, majoring in English Studies and Political Science. I also recently completed my 120-hour TEFL certification in the hopes that I can begin teaching English abroad. I would like to begin my teaching career abroad is because I would like to experience different cultures and learn all about them. I have never left my home country and would like to learn about the world while helping students with the English language. I would also like to pass on things that I have learned in my culture to other citizens and leave a lasting impression as an English teacher. My mother was also an English teacher and she inspired me to help where I am good, and I am good at English, just like her.

I believe I am well-equipped for this position because I have excellent social skills and establish good relationships with those around me. I love to help and find peace in making the lives of those around me, especially my students, a little better. With my knowledge of the English language I can navigate the different and complex ways in which it is used and conceptualise it in a way that students can understand. I make myself available to every and any student who may need extra help after classes and find joy in seeing them succeed because their success is my success. I am a very energetic and caring person and I strive to give my all in everything that I do. I like to complete my tasks ahead of time and remain prepared.

I am seeking a teaching position in Korea. My preference is with a University in Seoul; however, I am flexible. As you can see from my resume, my credentials set me apart from other applicants.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Teaching, have 12 years of full-time teaching experience and am a licensed teacher in Colorado, USA. I am TEFL certified and have a certification in Teaching Business English. I have lived abroad (in the UAE) and taught English Language Learners.

As a teacher, I strive to make each lesson dynamic and challenging. I encourage each student to maximize his or her potential. The strong rapport I build with my students helps motivate them to be successful and builds a class environment of inclusion and positivity.

On a personal note, my parents are Korean immigrants who were born and raised in Busan. I have had the privilege of spending time in Korea with familiy and to study and travel throughout the country. Much of Korean culture is familiar to me.

I am a very encouraging, patient, and creative person which is why I feel like I would be very suited to an English Teacher role. I decided to train to be a teacher as I want to do something worthwhile and share my enthusiasm for learning. I am also very calm and positive so in stressful situations or fast-paced environments I can stay focused. I have experience in both Secondary and Primary education as during my PGCE course I have been on placements in two secondary schools where I taught a range of students with varying abilities. I have also had a primary experience day where primary school children came to the university and I taught them lessons and I have taught primary school children French for six weeks. I have also had experience working in a college as a Learning Support Worker where I assisted students with learning or behavioural difficulties in various subjects such as Games Design, Art, English, Mathematics and Music. I have been a tutor in the past where I tutored GCSE and A level students in English Literature to help them pass their exams and coursework.

I have excellent communication skills as I have a degree in English Literature. I would love to share my excitement for language with children and help them become excellent communicators and open up opportunities for them. I also achieved a distinction award in my Art Foundation degree so I have various artistic skills. I love to incorporate visual language into my lessons to help to meet the students' various learning styles.

I have an undergraduate degree from Durham University and a Masters degree from the University of Oxford, both in English. I am certified with TEFL's 120-hour course, and have taught EFL previously in Hong Kong for two months over the summer, as well as working for seven months as an English teaching assistant in France. In both instances I planned and delivered my own lessons to classes of 14-16-year-old students. Having studied for a year abroad at the University of Hong Kong I'm excited at the prospect of living in South Korea, learning more about the culture and sharing my own language and culture with the students.

I’m an enthusiastic 23 year old Graduate that enjoys teaching immensely. I’ve had 3+ years in teaching experience (both volunteering and full time/ part time jobs). I have a love for teaching and have chosen to do it as a life long career from a young age! I can work with various age groups and I am very flexible in every way possible! I have taught TEFL in China and Korea.
In China I had a chance to teach TEFL at all levels of age.
My experiences included teaching at a university, in children's training centres, and private tutoring. I have worked at a temporary position in Korea for a friend's academy during my University's summer and winter holidays for a few weeks at a time in 2019 and 2020.
I have also worked as a martial arts teacher to children and adults.

My personality is fairly high energy as long as I can keep moving.
I have more of a technical personality than someone who enjoys planning.
What I mean is that I enjoy following the plans that others have written and maybe modifying it to the class's needs and my personality.

I have background in accent modification with standard American English because of the class I took in college.
I know how to use most programs such as word,outlook,etc.
I can be assertive and try to practice empathy to other's needs.
My talent includes sports, martial arts, and teaching martial arts. I have practiced this since I was a teenager.
I keep things professional at work and expect to excel in what I do to look for more class hours and projects my superior may have.

I enjoy nature and exercise. If there is somewhere I can go in nature or to the ocean to swim I would be quiet, happy and calm.
