I am British by nationality, I grew up in Hungary and attended the Lycée in Budapest until I moved back to the UK to complete my A Levels. This cross-cultural upbringing has made me open to living and working abroad. My degree at the University of Manchester where I studied Arabic and French consolidated this ambition, when I lived in Amman, Jordan for eight months. Travelling has always featured strongly throughout my life, for example I have travelled solo around South America and worked at a Summer Camp in France.

I speak French, English and Arabic, and enjoy communicating with and learning from each new encounter in my life.

My involvement as an educator began while I was still at school; I did a work placement at a Preparatory School assisting with French and Drama. During my second year at University, I tutored first-year students under the PASS scheme (Peer-Assisted Study Sessions) alongside private tutoring, teaching English to IELTS students from South Korea. I then went on to teach English to Syrian refugees for the Manchester Refugee Rights society. During my year abroad I completed my Level 5 Ofqual TEFL qualification and taught Somali and Sudanese refugees English in Amman. In all of my teaching roles I strove to create an engaging and active atmosphere in the classroom.

I currently work with Global Nomads Group, an NGO facilitating cross-cultural understanding and relationships between youth across the world. Within my role I encourage discussions on global issues between American and Middle Eastern students.

Experience: I grew up in the United Kingdom, so I am fluent in English, and I can also speak basic Thai and Japanese. I completed a 150-hour TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Course, before continuing my studies at University.

Personality: I would describe my personality as versatile, insightful, principled, dependable, and passionate. I have a deep understanding and perception of people's emotions and situations. Whilst utilising integrity and consistency, I have a strong sense of right and wrong. Additionally, I show determination and enthusiasm towards a particular interest, task or pursuit.

Skills: I have a number of years of customer service experience which developed my communication skills, organisational skills, time management and abetted my ability to create interpersonal relationships with colleagues and customers. I am certain these fundamental skills are transferable to any work environment and profession. I regularly look after my 4 year old nephew, engaging and communicating with him that is easily understandable, and assisting in his learning and development.

At present, I am working as an NHS Scotland clinical microbiology employee, with skills encompassing a range of abilities, including and not limited to scientific competencies. To undertake daily duties, experimental data, prediction, classification and observations within the department.

A dedicated, meticulous and decisive clinical microbiologists with 3 years experience and a PhD in molecular biochemistry. I also have obtained a Teaching English as a foreign language certificate (TEFL) online 120 hours online. I am looking to seek a role where I can use my knowledge and skills to further enhance and develop on hand understanding in a timely and accurate manner.

As my projects and client networking are varied, I must be adept at multitasking, servicing different entities and interests, and achieving results in a high paced business setting.

My experience in an official teaching setting is fairly limited, but I do, and have always considered myself a natural teacher. Over the last five years, I held a career as a wilderness crew leader, primarily focused on teaching young adults a variety of skills for success in the outdoors. I was responsible for up to ten young adults in remote locations, providing their food, safety, and training. This is where I found my love of teaching. The fulfillment of providing someone a unique and rewarding experience is what I believe I am meant to do, and I want to transfer this skill to a global setting. I have recently been volunteering with a company called Asian Human Services, based in Chicago, Illinois. Watching my student grow and improve has been the most rewarding experience of my life, I want to carry that passion to your school.

Greatest strengths: My greatest strength is my ability to adapt to different situations quickly. I thrive in learning how to build a routine and executing it daily. I also think that I am adaptable within team environments. I am able to sense where I would be most helpful and fill in whatever that role may be. I love to learn, as well, and whatever I do not know, I pick up very easily.

I have great communications skills, confidence to deliver a great lesson plan, not being afraid of the challenges that come along with an engaging audience or the ability of showing empathy and patience to learners.

I believe in getting results, and I’m proud of the fact that my class has always scored above the school and state average in standardized testing. I make homework expectations clear at the beginning of the school year, and keep parents updated throughout about exactly where their children stand. I have posters on the wall explaining my discipline strategy and ask parents to sign that they have read it, and it has never been challenged.

I currently work in Southern California as a substitute teacher. I love my job and it has opened my mind to continue teaching full time in the future. Hands on and personal teaching are what I excel at, so the small class size of 10 students is perfect for me. My adaptability also makes me a strong teacher in the classroom, as I can take any issue head on and pivot into the best possible solution.

With over a year of teaching experience and a love of children I know that I will be able to showcase my passionate nature in teaching English. Communicating is something I have always excelled at, only perfecting my writing and speech giving skills through University, with my solid English communication skills paired with my TEFL certification I am completely confident that I will be able to improve the communication of others.
