In terms of my strengths, I am resilient, adaptable, and creative. Regarding my experience, I served as a career advisor and events planner for three years at my university. Additionally, I worked as a project manager for an artist, successfully orchestrating two events while concurrently training a team of 15 interns. Apart from my professional experience, I also worked as a peer counselor in high school, providing support to fellow students and referring them to the school psychologist when necessary.

I am energetic, eager to learn and hope to showcase this in the classroom.

I am a positive and motivated teacher who is committed to providing students with a dynamic and interesting learning environment in which they can grow and truly flourish. I am familiar with the current curriculum and I thrive on keeping abreast of the latest developments and resources in the field of education. I seek to encourage students to participate in extra-curricular activities such as study groups, which I believe instils in them a self-directed self-motivated lifelong learning culture. My approach to my teaching is underpinned in key initiatives, robust performance measures and a holistic student centred-approach strategy. I firmly believe students learn with greater ease when they feel safe in their learning environment and feeling comfortable with their teacher plays an integral role in achieving the desired outcomes of learning. My lessons plans take into consideration individual student’s learning abilities and endeavour to incorporate a variety of learning styles to engage all the learners.

My classroom approach to remaining professional, maintaining good discipline, exciting progressive learning, fostering an environment most conducive to learning: The fundamental principle for learners is creating clear boundaries and I am very aware of maintaining clear lines to maintain a good student–teacher relationship centred on good classroom management framework. Education, learning, training and development is my passion, and my overarching aim is to see that all my learners achieve their full potential.

I am writing this letter to express my interest in the ESL teaching positions available for late July, August and/ early September, 2024.

I am passionate about education and cultural sensitivity and I a strong desire to make an impact on student's lives through language learning. I love traveling and meeting with new people and learning about their different cultural backgrounds.

I currently hold a 4 year Bachelor of Health sciences in Environmental Health which I obtained from Durban University of Technology. I also completed a 120h TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate with TEFL Universal.

I’ve worked as an Environmental Health Practitioner at the Airport where I was constantly interacting with passengers from different nations and helping them out with health protocols midst Covid 19 pandemic. I was also tasked with facilitating health educational programs among Airport employees and stakeholders. In late 2022, I was presented with an opportunity to work as an education assistant in my hometown primary school. My tasks included: supporting teachers with lesson planning and preparations as well as supporting the main teacher in managing behaviour in the classroom. This is where I got the opportunity to learn classroom and young learners behavioral management skills.

Although the above experiences may be less related to the ESL teaching industry, I believe that I can apply some of the relevant skills that I acquired from these two workplaces. Those skills include communication, interpersonal, presentations, creativity, report writing, classroom management and organizational skills.

South Korea especially stands out to me because of their rich cultural heritage and diverse traditions. Therefore working in Korea will provide me with an opportunity to be working while traveling and experiencing a different culture in another country.

I have just completed my Bachelor of Education Degree with a Cum Laude specializing in English and Social Science. I am also TEFL qualified with the following certifications: Teaching English online and one on one, Teaching business English and Teaching English to young children. As an educator, I am extremely passionate about what I do. I understand that every learner has different learning needs and that it is my responsibility to cater for those needs the best that I can. I work well under pressure, I am organized and hard working and I can adapt to any situation easily. I work well independently but can also thrive when in a team.

I am a professionally qualified SACE registered Educator with more than ten years teaching experIence in South Africa and two years abroad. I have a Honours Bachelor of Education degree from the University of South Africa. I am presently writing up for my Masters degree in Education. I am passionate about education. Many of my students achieved excellent results in the past and are now in tertiary institutions.
