Am a Teacher by profession with over 15 years exprience in teaching and training

Under TEFL tutors guidance, I learned to teach students Grammar and Language Awareness.
I received the Telephone teaching and Large classes certificate and learned to teach students effectively in these areas. This was a 220 hour course that equipped me to start teaching students English as a foreign language. I also learned management and leadership skills through my Business and International Economics degree which will help me control distributions and deal with situations that arise in the classroom.

I will use my previous tutoring experience to get comfortable teaching students in the classroom. I’ve assisted post-graduates preparing for British Council Exams, which helped me approach grammar principles in different techniques in order to help her ace the exams. I quizzed her on spelling, corrected pronunciation, and corrected grammar tenses which assisted in her passing the British Council Exams with a score of 7.

I would like for students to understand and be able to communicate in English, so I also intend to reference some of my own lessons and memories from English classes and instructors. I hope to make the English language experience enjoyable for all students!

All my work experiences from the past 6 years have been centred around working with children and teenagers: day camp monitor, substitute teacher, student teacher, tutor, private teacher. All these experiences and my passion for the English language make me the ideal candidate to become an English teacher. I am lively, creative, reliable, compassionate, and patient.

Through my studies and experiences, I have developed my ability to create material and lesson plans, as well as effectively teach the material to the class and evaluate the students' learning.

I am currently working as a teaching assistant for a pedagogy class at Laval University while finishing my bachelors' degree in teaching English as a second language. I am also a substitute teacher for a few schools around my area and a private English tutor.

For the last 7 years, I have worked as a day camp counselor during the summer. Since I started by degree, I have completed four practicums when I practised being a teacher and having my own class. I have also been a private teacher giving both online and in-person lessons.

My name is Kritina Maharaj and I am from Durban, South Africa. I currently hold a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Science (Cum Laude) from the University of South Africa and a National Diploma in Video Technology from The Durban University of Technology. I also possess a TEFL certificate from The TEFL Academy, where I completed 168 hours Level 5 Diploma.
During my time at Independent Media, I was able to hone my instructional skills by leading sessions where I taught interns the nuances of video editing. This experience enhanced my ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, tailoring the learning process to individual needs, and fostering an engaging educational environment. Moreover, it solidified my belief in the importance of adaptable and innovative teaching methodologies, a mindset I am eager to bring to your programme.

In addition to my video editing mentorship role, I have completed 10 hours of classroom teaching practice, providing me with first-hand experience in delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons. This hands-on experience, combined with my dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, has equipped me with the skills necessary to effectively engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.

I am a sociable and adaptable individual capable of handling diverse situations with precision. I thrive in fast-paced, multicultural environments and am adept at working under pressure. My strong, spontaneous, and determined personality is reflective of my commitment to seeking and embracing the challenges life offers.

I have always been captivated by the richness of Korean culture. From its deep- rooted traditions to the dynamic modernity seen in its entertainment and technological advancements, Korea has always held a special place in my heart.

I'm passionate about teaching and believe that Korea offers a vibrant and rewarding environment for educators. The dedication of Korean students to their studies and the emphasis placed on education resonate deeply with me. I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to contribute to their educational journey.

Moreover, I see teaching in Korea as a fantastic chance for cultural exchange. I'm eager to immerse myself in Korean society, learn the language, and engage with the local community. My ideal location would be Seoul and the age group that I would like to teach is kindergarten.
