I consider myself hardworking, approachable and kind, qualities that make me well suited to teaching. I am also patient, understanding and empathetic. Growing up with three younger brothers and attending an international boarding school with both older and younger pupils, I have met a variety of people throughout my life, and this allowed me to develop strong awareness of the different challenges students face at various stages of learning, both in their native and second languages. This allows me to support and relate to my students effectively. I am also confident and self-assured enough to maintain respect and authority in the classroom.

During secondary school and sixth form, I volunteered at local primary schools, teaching students aged 5-9 learn to read. As such I was exposed to a wide range of abilities and backgrounds, and this taught me how to adapt to best help each of these students. I also volunteered to teach dance classes to secondary school students aged 11-15 where I learned how to adjust my instructions for different skill levels and balance focused individual support with the needs of an entire classroom. These experiences strengthened my classroom management, communication, and time management skills.

My name is Caleigh De Luca. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education (General Curriculum) from Georgia State University. I also hold a California Multiple Subject Teacher Certification.

For the past three and a half years, I have been teaching at Fulton Science Academy Private School, where I had the privilege of working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Prior to that, I gained experience in various classroom settings, which helped me develop a strong understanding of adapting my teaching style to meet the needs of different learners. I also have experience in South Korea international school with younger students. I specialize in designing and delivering engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of all students. Additionally, I hold Gifted In-Field Certificate and STEM Education Endorsement.

With a diverse background that includes teaching at international schools and academies overseas, I have developed a strong sense of adaptability and a quick learning mindset. These qualities enable me to thrive in new environments and tackle challenges both inside and outside the classroom with confidence. In my current job at Chaucer College I quickly found a love for teaching and helping students from all different walks of life. I have also worked as an independant music teacher, with younger students too. Every week at work I have worked with people from different countries, teaching them English along the way, gaining many beautiful memories already. To describe myself, I would say I am as supportive as possible, and I like to make learning a fun and engaging experience. I do genuinely enjoy my work and my wish would be able to carry part of that over with me. This experience would not only be a good chance for students to learn off of me, but for me to learn off of them too. I am a motivated self starter, with a passion for teaching and a thorough understanding of English language and cultures. Through my 200 hour TEFL course I refined my knowledge of English grammar and honed my teaching skills. At The University of Manchester I studied mathematics with financial mathematics. This included business modules, giving me a thorough grounding in business English, financial reporting and management techniques. For six years I have coached table tennis to a range of age groups. This has given me further experience in using a wide range of strategies to create a fun and productive learning environment. At university I was elected president of the table tennis society, here I showed leadership and worked effectively under tight budgetary restrictions.
