My teaching journey began when I was 18 and teaching drama to children aged 7-18 at summer camps run by the Nicholas Branston Foundation from 2015-2018. During this time, I learned to tailor my teaching style for different age groups and numbers, and taught singing and acting to as many as 50 children at one time. In the summer of 2019, I was invited to teach music at Exsportise summer camp. Here, I taught children with low to intermediate levels of English. I enjoyed adapting my teaching style to accommodate those children, and I am proud of the work they achieved and the new language they were able to utilise by the end of the course.

From 2017 – 2020, I completed my degree in Acting and Theatre Making, achieving a first-class Honours Degree. During the course I acquired a plethora of skills that I would later use to inform my teaching. Leading group projects at university helped shape the way I lead groups and provided valuable experience in taking charge of fellow adults. I also gained experience in creating my own resources for assessments. To accompany the skills nurtured during my degree, I am also a strong vocalist and competent guitarist, with a good knowledge of music theory. Upon graduating in 2020, I utilised my time during the Covid 19 lockdown to complete a 120-hour TEFL qualification. I am currently working as an English Communication Development teacher in Uttaradit, Thailand. I work with students aged 12-14. I also tutor students privately, adapting each lesson to the individual based upon age, level and proficiency.
