I am a patient, determined, and adaptable individual from Coleraine, a small town in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. I am a bilingual native English speaker with an extensive background in art, computers, and literature. I have always had a passion for travel and adventure, which was further reinforced during my university years.
I have lived more than three years in Asia, between Thailand and Korea. I have also traveled to and visited many other countries during this time. I have developed a deep appreciation for other cultures and find I feel most comfortable when immersed in another countries traditions.
I have previous experience teaching in the Republic of Korea. I taught students between the ages of seven and sixteen years old. I helped guide and educate students onto their future paths and found it to be a truly rewarding experience. Helping students overcome their adversities and find confidence in themselves taught me a lot about teaching. I gained invaluable experiences in teaching children and teenagers, and I discovered subtle methods of engaging each age group.
During my tenure in Korea, the Covid-19 pandemic struck the world. During this time, we were able to continue educating our students by carefully planning and following social distancing guidelines along with efficient use of personal protection equipment (PPE). I believe the skills I developed during this time were invaluable and are still of use today as variants of Covid continue to persist. I have also been fully vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. I am confident in my ability to work safely and diligently under Covid safety restrictions.
I have completed my 120 hours TEFL course and an advanced 30 hour course for Teaching Young Learners.

My partner and I are looking for teaching positions in South Korea for as soon as possible in a public school!

We are both native English speakers from Oxford, UK, qualified with teaching experience.

We have recently been offered a job in BangBae but this was for a Hagwon and we really are only interested in working for a public school in South Korea.

We both have degrees, I qualified in English Literature, studying modules such as Children's Literature and gained a 2:1. We also both have 120 hour TEFL qualifications, our DBS and all of these documents are notarised and apostilled- ready to go.

We also have teaching experience, mine being teaching children ,primary and secondary, in person and online for a number of years. Coaching students from GCSE level, through to A Level and even assisting in the editing of dissertations for university students. As such, I grew in confidence and skill through working with such a variety of ages and abilities.

I am an extremely articulate, energetic and bubbly individual who is very driven and compassionate. Having lived in New York for a while too, I am used to living abroad and assimilating into foreign cultures and very much enjoy immersing myself in unfamiliar environments.

I have experience teaching students from the age of 8 to 18 years old. I have taught a range of subjects from engineering to history, as I previously worked for a British University. I have visited schools and colleges across the UK to teach them the benefits of higher education, alongside delivering subject taster sessions. I am highly motivated by ensuring that the students I teach progress and develop their skills. I am passionate about teaching and my passion for education shows when I am in a classroom. I also have experience working for a college working with students aged 16-18 teaching the benefits of work based learning.

I currently work as a Sales Advisor in a clothing store and during my time working, I have trained other colleagues to complete tasks such as using the tills, processing refunds, dealing with troublesome customers and greeting customers with a friendly and enthusiastic approach. I have also given presentations and seminars at university to over 20 students with ages ranging from 18-30, this included presenting and teaching skills and creating lesson plans and worksheets.
I have also worked with children – babysitting and a project on the learning development of young children which all included ages 3-12.
I have taught children during university events on how to handle animals, facts about the animals and any other questions they had.
I am passionate and enthusiastic about teaching and am dedicated to help the students be as successful in their learning as they can. I have a passion for gaining new knowledge and sharing that knowledge with others. I have a strong belief that the classroom should be a safe and fun place for students and to try and keep a positive atmosphere at all times. My goal is to teach students in a way that they can learn for themselves and have a positive and fun experience during their lesson time with me.

I have experience with young learners and non-verbal communication from my work shadowing and volunteering experience at a speech & language therapy practice. Coupled with my extensive work experience in hospitality, this has provided me with leadership and problem-solving skills. I am a creative and empathetic person, who loves reading and travelling, hence teaching appeals to my strengths and interests. I am hard-working, enthusiastic and always looking to learn and develop my existing skills.

Throughout my middle school and high school experience, I briefly tutored people in English and reading music. In college I consistently maintained high grades while holding 3 jobs in teaching which included working with adolescents. I was hired by my university to work with people from ages 5-80 teaching them music and communication skills which I still maintain. While in college I was also sent resumes, essays, and assignments that I assisted with grammar and reading comprehension. Throughout the pandemic I continued teaching high school and elementary aged students both in-person and virtually so I have confidence in my skill to teach any age group in any platform-virtual or otherwise. I have always had an affinity for teaching and am passionate about working with others to grow their education and support them, and through my experiences I have become confident in my skills, resilient, and energized to continue working with others.

I have been immersing myself in the Korean culture out of interest since 2009, and am learning the language. It would be a great privilege to combine my passion for teaching, working with others, and cultural exchange.

I do not have any formal teaching experience, however I have had brief jobs where I have been around children: I used to babysit younger children aged between 1 and 5, I have also led a summer sports academy for older children aged between 9 and 11 years old. In the sports academy, I had to teach the children a new sport everyday and it went on for two weeks. From this experience, I began to develop my leadership and communication skills, since I was in charge, I had to present myself in an authoritative yet playful way, as I was still only working with children.
I like to think of myself as quite a patient, sympathetic person. I am currently a care assistant who deals with all sorts of difficult situations involving vulnerable people. I have to be able to care for and understand their needs, and if i'm not making myself aware of everything, I cannot complete my tasks properly.
I have been able to develop other skills through my job and my time at university, which I believe would contribute to me being a good teacher: As well as those mentioned, I am confident in presenting tasks to others well enough for them to understand what needs to be done at that time, I also work very well with others (something I have picked up from my time at university as I had to work in small and large groups to prepare different shows and presentations).

I am a recent Anthropology and Law graduate from the world leading university – the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Being a first-generation student in the UK with neither of my parents having attending university placed me under an immense amount of pressure to succeed. It was the driving force behind my progression through my school years where I also discovered my love for education and its ability to provide opportunities for every student.

I started considering teaching as a career once my eyes were opened to the critical function educators play in society. I was a Course Assistant at my University, where I worked to help increase the representation of state school students from lower class backgrounds in higher education. I took my role very seriously as it had a huge impact on the level of ambition students like myself had.

I also volunteer as Pathways to Law mentor at the Sutton Trust. The Trust assists Sixth Form students from state school, BAME and low socioeconomic backgrounds. I mentor 6 students on a fortnightly basis assisting with university applications. As a student from state school, BAME and low socio-economical background I offer encouragement on the university application process. Two of my mentees have received offers to study Law at Oxford University.

I consider myself to be an enthusiastic advocate for education. My love, curiosity, and appreciation for different cultures is the main driving force behind why I would love to teach at your institution.

I have worked with with the YMCA with children for the last five years. I have completed many trainings such as Darkness to light child protection, i have been trained in CPR, sun and water protection.

i have graduated University with a bachelors in Musical Theatre. my passion is music, where ever i go and what ever i do i try and incorporate music as i believe music helps children grow.

I have experience living abroad. I lived in Japan for one year when I studied abroad in university. While in Japan, I did freelance work as an English conversation tutor in Japan. I also have experience with children. In the summer of 2020, I tutored a kindergarten aged child since he was unable to attend school due to covid-19. I taught him his ABC's, days of the week, months of the year, how to count, etc. Many years ago, in high school, I also babysat three kids regularly.

As for my personality, many people describe me as an energetic, positive, and confident person. I would also add that I am a highly adaptable person, too. By “highly adaptable,” I mean that I have the ability to adapt to many different situations and I remain calm under pressure.

I am also looking for a position ASAP. I already have my diploma and crc apostilled. HOWEVER, my CRC apostille expires late October.
