I am a confident and energetic teacher from England. I have a years experience as a teacher working online with Magic Ears. This company has allowed me to grow and learn as a teacher. I'm patient and enthusiastic with my teaching bringing as much life to my lessons as I possibly can. I believe that you get back what you put in so I always give my classes 110% so my students feel engaged and enthusiastic as well.

On top of this I love finding new ways to keep lessons interesting. Over the past couple of years, I have taken up several key opportunities and positions that have collectively allowed me to develop and build upon the strengths and skills I would consider to be among my most prominent today. I have always been immensely interested in experiencing and learning more about cultures different from my own, and I was able to do so firsthand when I studied abroad on Semester at Sea in the spring of 2019 during which I visited a number of countries throughout Asia, Africa, and Europe. The experiences I gained on Semester at Sea implanted in me a newfound love of traveling and a deeper appreciation for the world around me, and I came away with a greater understanding of not just the places I went to and the world in general, but of myself as well. Embarking on that journey alone and continually going to places I was unfamiliar with forced me out of my comfort zone and pushed me to become a more confident, positive, genuine, empathetic, and outgoing person, qualities I would heavily rely on when I took up job positions at the beginning of my final year at Colorado State University upon returning home. Throughout my time working as news editor of CSU's student publication, The Rocky Mountain Collegian, and as a leadership coach for Key Communities, I recognized the wellbeing of the students I was in constant communication with — whether it be through editing with them or mentoring them — was paramount. My job at The Collegian consisted of working together with the news director to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the news desk at The Collegian and to ensure that there was always content to report on, and in making sure operations went as smoothly as possible, I always made myself available to reporters on the desk whenever they needed assistance. I proofread and edited almost every article the news desk published, and I helped organize and conduct meetings with engagement and creativity first in mind. As leadership coach, I mentored and supported a group of students throughout the year and offered guidance and resources as needed. I kept track of students' academic and personal progress and achievements through individual meetings and weekly checkups; I celebrated their accomplishments and lent a sympathetic ear and support when they were faced with challenges. As part of a team made up of four other leadership coaches and our director, I often collaborated with my team members on planning educational seminars and meetings that helped students explore professional opportunities and career goals. Relying on the qualities and values I developed from Semester at Sea as a basis for confidently and effectively carrying out various responsibilities throughout my last year at CSU, I learned how to be a leader. With this knowledge and experience, I aspire to teach English abroad, something I have dreamt of doing since my time on Semester at Sea.

I have experience with ages 6 months to 12 years of age, primarily within the range of 18 months to 5 years of age. I have worked in both a daycare setting and a TEFL classroom as an assistant, working with groups of 5-25. I have co-managed and independently managed a classroom. I love to have an energetic and active classroom that features as much engagement from the students as possible while still creating a constructive learning environment. I am very flexible when it comes to the different needs and learning strategies that vary between every classroom and student. I feel comfortable with many aspects of teaching technology such as smartboards, projectors, and of course whiteboards. I like to think of myself as silly with structure. I believe that learning can be fun while still teaching. I also believe that part of teaching students at a young age goes beyond just teaching the subject matter, but includes teaching them basic life skills that they can develop early and use their whole life.

My strengths when it comes to my career I could describe for myself is that I'm enthusiastic, energetic and patient. I enjoy teaching kids and I can easily bond with young learners, I take time to get to know the kids and young learners, I understand learning a new language is difficult. I've been an ESL teacher for more than a year for Chinese & French kids aging 4 years old to 15 years old and I've also been teaching Chinese & Japanese adults Business English as well. For kids I focus on their pronunciation, grammar and reading skills, I know most kids have short attention span so I do make sure every lesson is fun and full of learning. While the adults, I focus on their conversation skills, teaching them idioms & expressions and assisting them in their work presentations & tasks as well.

I'm a graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration Majoring Entrepreneurial Management. I've been in Sales & Marketing for more than 5 years. As for being a ESL Teacher, I've been teaching for more than a year holding one on one and even group classes online. I hold a TEFL Degree for a 120hr course from TEFL Org UK.

I have spent a large deal of my working life in customer service and so I am at my best in people focused positions. At the current student residence I am managing I have made sure to know all of the 170 students by name and build a report with them. I truly believe that everything comes down to your relationship with individuals and so in a teaching scenario I hold my students experience as paramount to my role.
I have spent many years as a creative whether that is in music or photography and thusly I am well aware of what it takes to create an engaging and fun environment for new learners and students.
I am ready to get started in a career that I am driven by, that can not only provide me with a challenge but a rewarding experience for myself and those around me.

I am currently completing a 140 TEFL course, both in person and online.

I have worked for an additional needs charity, ages 4 to 19, by helping the children become more involved in mainstream activities. I helped teach a 4 year-old boy with autism how to swim and I arranged online activities for our children and teenagers during the pandemic.

I look forward to teaching English abroad and I feel like I will bring a lot of energy and fun into my lessons. I will make sure that I get students off their feet and excited to learn about English!

Having had promotion/marketing experience, I’ve had to interact with plenty of customers and fellow colleagues, so I have good communication skills, excellent people skills as well. I am super friendly and therefore very easy to get along with. I am naturally a bubbly person and I love making conversation with people.

The closest I’ve gotten to working with students was when I held the position of a senior monitor and prefect (in high school). My role in this position was mainly to supervise the students and keep them occupied when there was no teacher present. I thoroughly enjoyed this as I got along very well with the students and now I hope to do this on a more larger, professional scale.

Not only do I want to help others grow and enjoy the English language , but I believe that I have a lot of learning and growing to do as well . What better way to do it than to incorporate a new culture and environment !
