My teaching experience includes working in China for nearly three years. With my first job in Beijing I worked for an English training school and Kindergarten. I then worked for Beijing Royal Foreign Language School, a top international boarding private school. My teaching experience there has been with large classes in grades 2,3 and 5. I also helped run the schools ‘’Global Scholars’’ program, with grades 5 and 6.

Following on from this I worked as a homeroom teacher in Seoul at YBM PSA. Here I got to experience the more hands on elements of homeroom teaching and together with my two Korean colleagues thought a class of 20 students. This also afforded me the opportunity to teach new subjects. After completing my time in Korea I returned to BRS to teach grade 5 for another year.

My continual training and work in both these schools in China and my experience in Korea has given me a very good grasp of the key mechanism for teaching through English as a foreign language, and how to best apply these in a classroom environment.

I have also previously worked in the Irish Military. My experiences in the Irish Defence Forces have great relevance to teaching in China, as they have instilled in me a great sense of personal responsibility and high standards of professional and personal conduct. My time in the army also provided me with many opportunities to give History lectures.

With my teaching I hope to maximize my student’s individual performance while simultaneously providing an engaging and enjoyable classroom experience. Hopefully my teaching will inspire their passion for learning, encourage their personal growth and further their professional aspirations.

I originally become interested in teaching when I was in college with the goal of becoming an ESL teacher. I started my career in a sales position and progressed to more ‘hands on’ educational and serviceable roles supporting sellers within my organization. However, I have always found myself volunteering with children in and out of classrooms through various programs. I’ve helped teach classrooms of children, mentored high schoolers and taught kindergarteners through my church’s Sunday school program. I am certain my business and volunteer experience will provide a unique professional, structured and playful environment conducive to effective learning with students.

I have recently graduated university with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree and a 150-hour TEFL qualification.

During my time at university, I believe that I have developed strong communication skills, both on an individual basis and as a team player, through many presentations and events that I took part in. Through my university assignments I have learnt to have good time management skills and good knowledge of written and spoken English. I am computer literate with a variety of different software. I have the abilities to work independently and in a group setting.

Throughout my time at university I held a few different employment roles, which have helped to build my confidence. These roles have been customer facing so were variable and unpredictable. Having to problem solve any issues, as well as making sure that I completed all the tasks for the day. Time management skills and being punctual were a very important part of theses roles.

For the past two years, I have been volunteering with a local Girlguiding UK Brownie group with children aged 6 – 11. I work closely with the leader to plan and run all the weekly activities, incorporating the general programme set by the organisation. Working with this age group has really boosted my ability and confidence to deal with any situation that presents and thinking on my feet, as activities with this age group, often do not go to plan.

I believe that with these combined skills and experiences, I would provide a positive contribution to your school.

My name is India Graves and I am someone who is charismatic, reflective, and fun to be around. With my personality I do a lot of writing and also performance arts in my spare time which helps me develop my communication skills outside of a formal institutions. I also was able to find that I do really well with volunteering at my church by working with the children that are mainly from infants to about five year old. I got my degree in Communication with an emphasis in Electronic Media. I learned a lot of different styles of communication and dealings in telecommunication tools such as audio systems and cameras. I also was on the speech and debate team. On that team I was able to discover more about public speaking as a skill to learn in its writing, researching and in its oral projections. I also was able to compete and really see my progress in real time. From this I got to gain skills in teaching this skill to other students across my campus with tutoring.

I am someone who has had the opportunity to teach children and teenagers in real world classrooms thanks to my university and being on the speech team. I was able to teach English to children who needed to learn it as a second language and Public Speaking at a private college preparatory high school.

My experience that does not revolve around teaching or my education is mainly in retail management. I have had this job for eight years as I paid my way through school. In this role I started as a regular sales consultant and ended up getting promoted to management within the last two years. I also had the chance to work as an intern at Walt Disney World and gain networking skills with other international students.

I feel that my skills that I have would make me an excellent teacher in South Korea. I am someone who is personable and having teaching experiences that I could bring to the position. I am someone with longevity when it comes to work as I have a proven track record with my job in retail management.

I believe that some of my skills would be well suited to your company.

Creating a new planner is a new experience for me, however, after completing my certification I can create effective teaching planners that will cater to students of every English proficiency level. I have received my 120 Hours TESOL certification from The International Open Academy, founded in Dublin, Ireland. As an ESL teacher, I can select certain materials that would be beneficial to the student and help correct issues that they struggle with.

As a full-time student and an English major, I have been able to create many detailed and thorough essays, creative writing, presentations, and powerpoints that have helped me to be able to organize my work and closely read what the underlying themes of the essay are. I would harness the same skills in my teaching to identify learning material, organize them in my teaching planner, and effectively use it in the classroom.

I have been on the Equestrian team at Wesleyan College for 3 years and learned the essentials for being a team player, identifying nonverbal communication, and using verbal communication. These skills are important in order to be able to work as a team for your company and have effective team building. I am good at working under pressure and the ability to interact with many different people.

I have an ability to grow with a job, handle responsibility and build positive relationships with work colleagues and teach students at all levels. My previous employers were very satisfied with my work rate.

I am a hardworking employee who is not easily discouraged by a language barrier. As an EAP student in Algonquin College, my average grade was always in the A+ range which allowed me to skip a level with recommendation from professors. This achievement proves how much I strive to accelerate academically.

In addition, I am an active global citizen. Last year, I volunteered as a community developer at Sapa Hope Center, a charitable school for the lower-income children, in northwest Vietnam. My role included a variety of tasks such as participating in a construction of dormitory building for homeless children and assisting local farmers with financial independence program, and basic teachings to the students. It was a mind-growing experience to share my knowledge and optimism with others.

I have always loved learning and have always wanted to teach. I enjoyed studying for a Law degree and for the Legal Practice Course where I obtained a distinction. During my education, I have found that education is an important factor in helping to achieve social justice and I am very much interested in helping students to learn in a positive and supportive environment; I feel that this will be beneficial for them and will help to lay the foundations for a successful life, academically, professionally and socially by helping to make them more well informed and engaged members of society.

At GCSE and A – Level, I enjoyed helping other students and would often encourage them to complete their work and to revise for examinations. I achieved two A’s and a B at A-Level and was mentioned in the local newspaper and the college prospectus. I would like the opportunity to inspire young people, to teach them to love learning and to develop a positive attitude that will help them to overcome the fear of failure, for example in my first year at college I sat one of the modules for an exam early and was awarded a C grade by the end of the year I had achieved almost all A grades. I really want to encourage students from all backgrounds to ‘never give up,’ as my father always encouraged me to do.

During my first term at university, I volunteered one day a week at the Redbridge Refugee Forum and became aware of the challenges that refugee families face not just with acquiring a new language but with obtaining food, adequate shelter and other financial support which could have an adverse impact on their education. My volunteering experience reminded me of the difficulties that young people from disadvantaged backgrounds faced when learning and helped me to observe the importance of managing class time efficiently to make sure each student was provided with support in the classroom and to tailor the provision of information to accommodate different learning styles to different young people where possible.

I have worked as a Switchboard Operator and Receptionist during the day and night shifts at two hotels and have learnt to successfully work with people from different backgrounds and this has helped me to develop excellent communication skills. I have worked as a Commercial Litigation Paralegal and as a Business Support Officer, for the Children’s Social Services department, in the youth centre and office, as a result, I have resolved to provide young people with the same great educational experience I was given.

I am a CELTA and TEFL certified ESL/EAP teacher from the UK with over six years of experience. I am currently teaching at Canvard College University of Business and Technology in Beijing, China, and will finish my contract by teaching at the University of Plymouth, UK.

My current employment contract ends on September 5th, and after my visa documents are processed, I will be looking to come to Korea. 

During my career, I have lived and worked in four different countries, including two years in Korea. My skills include vast experience with lesson planning, creation of exciting and in-depth lessons for all ages and abilities, confidence and enthusiasm, an open and likeable personality, and a true interest in Korea and Korean culture.


My current role of Pre-Sessional Academic English Tutor at Canvard University of Business and Technology in China, (and later, University of Plymouth in the UK) has allowed me to refine my skills as an English instructor to a more professional level. Teaching in a university environment has been an extremely rewarding job with its own unique challenges that I have enjoyed every second of.

 With my experience, confidence, certification, creativity and enthusiastic personality, I know for a fact that I can actively contribute to the reputation of any school.

My name is Tifffany Nguyen. I graduated from Newman University with a degree in Psychology. I am bilingual in English and Vietnamese. The experiences of working with students and the interest in Korea's cultures have motivated and challenged me to apply for teaching English in Korea.

In high school, I joined Korean Fan Dance club to help at fundraising events for local churches and perform at the annual Asian Festival. Practicing with Hanbok, I was amazed and became curious about the Korean culture, food, and history. Throughout the years, I participated in Big Brother Big Sister program to assist middle school students with homework and after school's activities. In the summer of 2013 to 2015, I worked as a Tutor Counselor for Upward Bound Wichita Preparation program at Wichita State University to provide support and guidance for high school students preparing for college. Since 2016, I became a Vietnamese instructor to help elementary students at church improve and practice the Vietnamese language. The excitement of seeing them learn motivates me to teach better. I enjoy working with children and hope to have an opportunity to contribute my passion as an English teacher in Korea.

I have been working with children and teaching children specifically since i was 15. I participated at a performing arts school in Australia and taught 4 classes varying in different age groups. It was a family friend of mine who ran the school hint as to why i was able to teach there so young. I developed skills of communication, confidence, ways to handle tough situations and developing skills on how to read the students i was teaching and the best way to go about helping them understand. During those years i also participated in volunteer work at a Disabled children's school in japan whilst i was living over there last year.
