I am a highly adaptable individual with a great passion for travel, discovery and languages.

I have previously gained experience in teaching English whilst volunteering in Cambodia and as an English language assistant in Spain in a private school environment.

In addition to this I currently tutor English online using Preply.

I have travelled a lot previously, spending 6 months in Asia and 1 year in South America. Meeting new people and adapting to new environments is something that I take great pleasure in.

My travel experiences have meant that I can handle culture shock well and I can form bonds with people from a variety of backrounds and cultures.

I have worked as a tutor with children from ages ranging 5-14 in maths, English and general studies. This was something that I enjoyed and is one of the key reasons why I am pursuing a job in education. In my current role as Business Manager, I apply my keen eye for detail and methodical approach to help our team deliver exceptional results. I am well versed in Microsoft applications, for having an excellent command of the English language, and have routinely been praised for my analytical thinking skills. Through adept application of results orientation and influence, I enjoy collaborating across all levels to ensure alignment and efficiencies.

Meanwhile, I have completed and obtained two Level 5 120 Hour TEFL qualifications with The TEFL Academy and with TEFL Online Pro. Additionally, I have undertaken language camps in Greece for children between ages 10-16, have undertaken adult language camps in Poland and thoroughly enjoyed inspiring and being inspired by people from different backgrounds and abilities.

With regards to experience, I would say a valuable and relevant role that I performed was tutoring online and in person to family and friends. This taught me the importance of catering a different lesson for each person, as each person has a different way of learning, hence I would find what method was most effective for the individual. Furthermore, I have worked at a franchise retail store, The Coop, where I learned the importance of always having a positive attitude to any situation, as many things may not go as expected, therefore it was always important to counteract this with a positive mindset and adapt. In addition, this experience taught me the importance of being organised in every aspect, whether it was with planning the tasks for the day, or just the overall presentation of the store, I understood that success is built on being organised. As of now, I work in the events and promotions industry which involves helping set up events, as well as promoting many companies such as Samsung, Deliveroo and The Guardian. This has allowed me to work with hundreds of new people and help me understand the importance of working as a cohesive unit, in order to present the brand in the best possible manner to others.

To describe myself, I would say that I'm pro-active, innovative and always up for trying new things. I enjoy competing in many sports such as football, badminton, table tennis, cricket and so on, in order to keep fit and I just enjoy them greatly. In addition, I enjoy editing videos of any events I go, whether it's an exhibition or a concert, I edit a compilation of videos together to make a complete video at the end of it. Moreover, I am always open to new experiences and obtaining new skills, whether its exploring different countries (even my own) or learning a new language. I have take French lessons and obtained an intermediate level in French and have been learning the keyboard. I intend to add many more skills to my portfolio in the future aswell.

I am a recent graduate in Accounting and Finance, achieving a 1st in my degree. Since graduating, I have been completing a TEFL course in order to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to teach English abroad.

As you can see on my resume I have a variety of experiences with many different skill sets ranging from anywhere from office clerical work, all the way to becoming doctors assistants within the medical field. Although these jobs are not correlated to teaching English, I believe that the skills that I have gained from these occupations will bring a lot to the TEFL team. I am a worker who can juggle multiple tasks at once, and am able to work both independently and dependently. I’m a quick learner and will always find ways to better my job performance. I enjoy working within a new culture to help grow my own personal self but to also work in a challenging and versatile environment.

As an applicant for this program I believe that with not only the skills I have, I also can bring my experiences and prior knowledge of living in South Korea while I was studying abroad at Hanyang University in Seoul in the Summer of 2022. Having lived in South Korea during this period was what made me officially want to become an ESL teacher. I will be graduating with my undergraduate degree in the Spring of 2023 (and have an official letter certifying my graduation date by my University's Registrars Office. I also have a copy of my TEFL License if needed for hopeful future meetings :D) and have obtained my TEFL License as of January 11, 2023.
