The written and verbal communication skills I have gained from my English Literature degree can be put into practice by coaching non-native English speakers with their language acquisition. Through my ability to encourage, empathise and instruct, I feel these skills would be useful in establishing a sense of rapport with students, fostering a welcoming learning environment which will give them the confidence to practice their English in the classroom.

I believe that it is a value of importance to have effective communication and listening skills, alongside organisational skills and patience. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in psychology and sociology. I am a team-player, who enjoys patiently helping others be the best they can be. I would say that I am skilled in communication, collaboration, listening, and self-discipline. While attending Concord University, I worked as a babysitter where I watched newborns to five year olds. I would create fun games that would allow my children to learn their colors, numbers and alphabet. I also taught my children how to write their names and other life skills, such as tying shoes and bathroom training. Also, while attending college, I formed my own study group. The primary focus of the group was test prep, lesson and essay review. I aided my fellow classmates with subject based assignments, created study guides that covered previous materials, and review written assignments for grammatical errors.

I am a hard working and dedicated individual. I am passionate about education therefore, teaching children would be an honour to me as I believe that education is important. I took English Literature as a course during my degree therefore this would be an added bonus. Something I have always wished to do is to help others. Being able to share knowledge with others and gain a lot in return, excites me. Seeing people being happy and knowing I was the reason for their happiness, is something I always dreamt of.

I have a strong desire for teaching. Being interested in a lot of foreign tv shows, films and music, I knew that languages would be the area I would like to teach in.
