I am writing to express my sincere interest in an English teaching position in one of your classrooms. With a strong academic background in molecular biology and data science, as well as several years of experience mentoring and training colleagues, I am eager to apply my communication skills in a classroom setting. I recently completed a 120 hour TEFL certification and am committed to beginning my teaching career with professionalism, dedication, and respect for Korean educational values.
Throughout my five years working in genetics and bioinformatics, I frequently took on roles that required teaching, guiding, and presenting complex information to diverse audiences. I trained new team members in laboratory techniques, prepared clear documentation for scientific workflows, and led sessions to help colleagues understand new tools and systems. These experiences strengthened my ability to explain challenging material in a clear, supportive, and patient manner. Ultimately, being able to teach someone effectively and watch them grasp a new concept in real time is what inspired me to become a teacher.
My motivation for teaching in South Korea is grounded in both personal and professional goals. I have great respect for Korea’s strong emphasis on education and am inspired by the commitment teachers and students bring to their studies. I am also drawn to Korea’s vibrant culture, history, and modern lifestyle, and I am eager to engage with the community, learn the language, and better understand Korean customs. As a teacher, my goal is to help students feel supported, motivated, and curious.
