I am a recent college graduate with a degree in Business Administration, and I possess a unique set of strengths that make me well-suited for a teaching position in South Korea:

Cultural Immersion: My study abroad semester in Suwon, South Korea, in March 2022 allowed me to deeply immerse myself in Korean culture. This experience broadened my understanding of the local culture, customs, and education system, enabling me to relate more effectively to students and colleagues.

Language Proficiency: I am self-taught in basic Korean skills, including reading, writing, and speaking. This linguistic ability not only facilitates effective communication with local communities but also demonstrates my dedication to connecting with students and their families on a personal level.

Engaging Personality: My calm yet engaging personality is a valuable asset when working with children. I have a natural ability to create a comfortable and interactive learning environment, encouraging students to actively participate and learn with enthusiasm.

Adaptability and Quick Learning: My experiences, including studying abroad and self-teaching Korean, have honed my adaptability and quick learning skills. I thrive in new and unfamiliar environments, readily embracing challenges and utilizing them as opportunities for personal and professional growth.

i have 2 years teachingof experience.I am qualified to teach biology and i currently tutor biology.I also tutor english as a second language.My weakness is, i do not have deep experience in ESL compared to biology but my strength is that i am doing short courses online.South Africa has 11 official languages and i am fluent in 8 languages ,that is a strenght because i know the frustration of learning a new language.

My name is Katherine Hyon, and I am a seasoned educator, writer, and editor with more than 15 years of experience. As much as I love my current position as Assistant Professor of English at an American University, I have always desired to travel to Korea in order to connect with my Korean heritage and also to contribute to the culture and society that I proudly claim as my own. Although I was born in Seoul, I immigrated to the United States when I was only 2 years old, so I am a native English speaker; I have been educated in the American school system from kindergarten through my graduate degree programs. I hold BA, MFA, and PhD degrees in English and Writing, and I believe that my extensive teaching experience will be an asset to your organization and your students.

While most of my formal teaching experience has been in the university, I feel confident that I can effectively teach English to all ages and grade levels. Throughout the course of my career, I have also provided my services as a private tutor in the areas of writing, reading, language acquisition, and standardized test preparation to students of all ages, from elementary school students to college graduates. I am confident that no matter what age group I engage, I can give my students the attention, care, and direction that they require so that their language skills will thrive. In my extensive experience working with students, I have learned that teaching is not confined to lesson plans, exams, and interactions that take place just in the classroom. Teachers have the potential to impact a young person’s life for the better, but that can only be done through example and authentic interactions. I believe that to be an effective educator, I must invest in the lives of my students and willingly be a mentor who can bring out a student’s full potential. I have worked at Lonwabo School for LSEN with students aged between 5-17 years for about a full
year. My duties included: To create effective lesson plan, conducting lessons, organizing learning materials, grade and evaluate students, field trips and communicating with parents. Moreover, trainee at Plant Peddler Inc United States, involved in plant production. From these positions, I have a wide range of essential skills namely: adapting and adjusting to the environment, ability to work in a team and individual, good communication, class management, patience, dealing with different cultures and being innovative. I am passionate and devoted to achieving high standards in what I do. My supervisors commented on my good attitude and willingness to learn new things. Holds a computer knowledge and is quick to adapt and learn new processes, information, systems and products.

I am eager to make a positive impact by fostering a love for language learning and cross-cultural understanding among students in an international setting.

Furthermore, my adaptability, openness, and strong communication skills have allowed me to connect with students from diverse backgrounds effortlessly. I am adept at building rapport and trust, which facilitates a positive learning experience for both myself and my students. In my previous roles, I have been commended for my patience, flexibility, and ability to foster a supportive learning community.

Beyond my passion for education, I am also deeply intrigued by the prospect of living and working in a foreign country. Embracing a new culture and language excites me, as I believe this immersion experience will enrich my teaching methods and deepen my global perspectives.

I currently attend university in Southern California at Chapman University heading into my last year. I have recently decided to transfer to Yonsei University by the spring semester. During my last year in school at Chapman I worked a part-time job at a local elementary school located in the Irvine school district. I was an after school program leader working for Kids Stuff Center. I would help students (ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade) with any questions they had with homework but did not teach new material. I also planned physical as well as arts & crafts activities for these students. I also ensured their safety outside during playground time. Personally, I am a very patient individual and am told that I am compassionate. I am flexible and for that reason I work well with others easily. I also would like to work this job part-time as I am still a student if that would be possible. Thank you so much.

After recently completing a Film and Television Prodcution Arts Degree at the University of
Cumbria, where I was involved in several productions. I started an assignment at one of the
major Medical Insurance Providers in the United Kingdom. Both of these experiences have
allowed me to both learn new skills, but also to impart upon others the teachings I have
been afforded.

I come from a large family, and believe family is one of the most important things in life. I
am an avid reader and enjoy travelling and experiencing new peoples and cultures.
