ESL Teachers

After over 6+ years in the legal field, I am transitioning into teaching English as a foreign language to continue my efforts in aiding others but in a more personal, proactive way. I am looking for the privilege of empowering students to unlock their potential and embrace the joy of learning, I wish to collaborate closely with other educators to design and deliver engaging lesson plans, support students in a group or one-on-one setting and cultivate positive classroom dynamics. My transition to education has been driven by a deep commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive, and inspiring environments where every student feels valued and encouraged to thrive. I take pride in my ability to adapt to diverse learning needs, tailoring my approach to ensure that each child receives the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed academically and personally. I am an analytical problem solver with talents for team building, leading and motivating, as well as excellent relationship-building skills. My empathetic nature and strong interpersonal skills will allow me to build meaningful connections with students, helping them overcome challenges and develop confidence in their abilities. I am particularly passionate about promoting curiosity, resilience, and a love for lifelong learning in every child I hopefully work with. I am proficient in using independent decision-making skills and sound judgement to positively impact overall success. I strongly believe that education is not just about imparting knowledge but about inspiring growth, self-belief and creativity. I am a friendly and enthusiastic individual with 7 years of experience in tutoring and child care. From the age of 15 to 18 years old, I worked for the tutoring company Kumon, assisting children aged between 3-13 with their English and Maths work sheets. During this time, I learnt how to engage students and analyse their strengths and weaknesses in order to adjust my teaching approach accordingly. Kumon gave me the opportunity to work with children who had special educational needs, developing my ability to teach a wide range of students with different requirements.

During my second year of University, I worked as a STEM Workshop Leader for Aveea Academy. I planned and delivered STEM workshops for groups of 20-30 children aged between 5 and 11, while supporting students with Special Educational Needs. Aveea Academy provided me Safeguarding, Diversity and Inclusion training and a Full Emergency Paediatric Certificate. Working at Aveea helped me to develop my skills in lesson planning, classroom engagement and managing large groups of children, while ensuring I could confidently communicate with parents and other members of staff. I enjoy being in a classroom environment and finding innovative ways to encourage students to learn and achieve their goals.

Additionally, I have experience working in two FE colleges, where I performed administrative tasks and co-ordinated industry placements for students. Working in Data admin enhanced my organisational skills, allowing me to plan lessons more efficiently.

I bring a well-rounded set of strengths, including diverse hands-on experience in team coordination, customer service, and care roles, demonstrating adaptability and leadership in fast-paced environments. My outgoing and positive personality fosters strong relationships, teamwork, and effective conflict resolution. Skilled in communication, behavioral management, safety protocols, and activity planning, I am organized, responsible, and capable of handling challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.

I have worked with children and adults of all ages in training and teaching classes. I have spent almost two years teaching art to children of all ages at my local children's museum. I also have over 5 years of training experience working with adults of all ages, teaching them how to read technical manuals and operate various equipment. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in History and American Sign Language. I also hold an Associate of Science degree and am a member of the National Honor Society. I am highly skilled in communication and team building. I also have several years of experience in team leading and management.

Experience: My previous roles as a graphic designer, retail assistant, front-of-house hospitality staff and volunteer work have equipped me with experience working with people of various backgrounds and cultures, as well as communicating within different contexts and purposes. I have worked in professional and hospitality settings, and contributed towards helping clients achieve their communication goals while supporting them throughout the process.

Personality: I am a deeply empathetic person who is constantly putting myself in others' shoes, interested in their perspectives, and how their backgrounds and cultures affect how they see the world; this significantly enables me to understand others well and communicate with them on many levels. I am also a great listener and have a big heart for people. Creativity is a large part of my personality; I value creative expression and look for new ways to solve problems. While I am very open to new experiences and welcome free-flowing expression, I am also equally diligent and organised, and will apply practical methods to achieve my goals. Being an adaptable person, I am resilient in work and life and take on challenges with a broad approach.

Skills: My experience and personality have strongly developed my ability to find new ways to communicate and problem solve, in order to assist clients, customers, or anyone, to achieve an outcome. I work diligently and pay great attention to detail, organising the various aspects of any job for a neat approach. Taking team members into account, I listen well and bring together many inputs in the process. I also evaluate scenarios thoroughly and take great care in understanding those I work with so that I can apply the best approach to any situation.

I’m TEFL-certified with a background in training, facilitation, and people development, which has strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, lead with confidence, and adapt to different learning needs. I’m energetic, reliable, and adaptable, with a genuine passion for helping others grow. My strengths lie in creating engaging, supportive environments where people feel encouraged to participate and improve, combining structure with creativity to keep lessons both effective and fun.

I currently run the cardiopulmonary critical care laboratory at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY where I grew up. In this position, I design injury models and treatments primarily for cardiopulmonary disease and sepsis. I also handle all of the training of procedures and protocols for new lab members. I facilitate an Advanced Trauma Operative Management(ATOM) course for 4th and 5th year surgical residents. I work well under pressure and pride myself in managing my time efficiently. My drive and outgoing personality has allowed me to be successful in professional and personal settings. I also recently finished a 6-year service in the New York Air National Guard as an Aerospace Medical Technician where I served as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge(NCOIC) of laboratory operations. In this position, I developed and implemented all training and procedures in the laboratory to ensure patient health and safety. As a Basic Life Support(BLS) Instructor I held classes for the wing to enhance base readiness. In both of these roles I was able to successfully combine my love and passion for both science/medicine and teaching.

I have completed two practicums in the education system and have worked in two daycares. I worked closely with a grade one classroom and two students diagnosed on the spectrum in kindergarten in the catholic school board. For my second placement I worked online with a private tutoring company serving young learners within high school, as a child and youth care worker, tutor, and attendance tracker utilizing phone call check-ins. Currently I work as an Early Childcare Assistant in a preschool classroom educating young learners aged 2yrs 5 mo to 3 yrs 4 mo.
I am a creative, empathetic and enthusiastic educator who utilizes a strengths-based approach, reward systems which encourages students to gain independence and confidence within a safe and welcoming learning environment.

I’m very strong with teaching and connecting to children based off of my experience teaching in preschool and summer camps. I also have strength in making students feel comfortable and confident. Based off of performance exams from previous campers I taught this summer, students said they felt free to express themselves in my class. I’m strong in virtues like kindness, creativity, and leadership. I aim to better others well-being in small or big ways daily! As a server in a busy restaurant, I am very strong in multitasking, moving quickly, patience, and listening to others needs.

I am a clear and effective communicator. I am a able to speak English at the highest level and am an excellent educator. I have a background as a tutor with dozens of long term clients.
