ESL Teachers

Through my work experience, I have developed skills in cross-cultural communication and assessing language criteria based on the common European framework of reference for languages. I am adept at reviewing assessments and conducting interviews for university applications. I work excellently in large teams and independently and have a wealth of experience in people-facing roles.
In terms of teaching, I have completed a L5 180 hour TEFL certificate and have experience in a primary school setting, assisting pupils aged 5-7 with phonetics, reading and comprehension. I have voluntary experience in an extra curricular club which supports girls between the ages of 6-10 with creativity, expedition and arts and crafts skills.
Personality wise, I am a bubbly, enthusiastic and approachable individual. I have been praised on use of initiative and professionalism and consider myself a strong relationship builder.

I am very excited for the opportunity to teach English abroad in South Korea. I have been a working professional in the music industry for 10 years and have been considering shifting careers into a teaching position since last year. I have built quite the creative skillset due to the artistic nature of my career so far. Innovation, creativity and Empathy are among my greatest assets. In addition, the years spent in various professional environments gives me a different perspective and work ethic than someone who is just starting their professional life.

I have a wealth of experience teaching music in one-on-one private lessons and small group learning environments. My first exposure to teaching was as a TA in University during my Master’s Program. I designed my own syllabus and curriculum based on the resources the school wished for me to use. I taught that class for three semesters. After graduation, I started teaching privately at an after school music academy in Loveland Colorado called the Loveland Academy of Music. My voice studio there consisted of 8-12 students at any given time. I also ran a master class once a month for a small group of up to 5 students for a group lesson. Eventually I opened my own private practice and have been teaching independently ever since.

In addition to those experiences, I also served as the Children’s Director for the Mountain Ancestor’s Grove Church in Longmont Colorado. Through this experience I had the opportunity to plan, prepare, and deliver curriculum and programming for a small group of children of various ages.

Other teaching experiences I have gathered over the years include substitute teaching in Conroe ISD as a part-time substitute teacher and working at a summer camp for St. Bartholomew in Katy Texas, the church that currently employs me. Our classroom at the camp had 40 kids in the 3rd-5th grade levels.

I have three key components that I incorporate into my teaching style; engagement, interaction and most importantly, inclusivity.

Although I have no experience teaching children and young learners per se, I have experience aiding and assisting adults with their written English, especially in articles, essays and scripts.

I have a keen interest in psychology, so I am interested in the bond between a teacher and their student/students on an educational and psychological level.

I have a strong background in acting and improv so implementing entertaining and energetic teaching methods comes naturally to me.

Through multiple years of experience publishing articles, think pieces and YouTube videos for ScreenRant and WhatCulture, I've showcased my understanding and utilisation of receptive and productive skills as well as strong grammar, correct punctuation and advanced vocabulary.

I bring a solid background in education with hands-on experience as a teacher assistant and private tutor, where I’ve developed effective teaching strategies and a deep understanding of student needs.
I am patient, empathetic, and highly adaptable, able to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and tailor my approach to foster a positive and engaging learning environment.

I am currently employed as a tutor in a language department at university. My responsibilities include assistance with undergraduate assignments, assistance during formal lectures, teaching extra classes, invigilating and marking tests and exams.
I am very spontaneous upon getting to know someone. When making mistakes in my academics or job responsibilities, I consider it important to identify my mistakes and rectifying them upon a next opportunity.
I am experienced in language, having studied two languages (English and Afrikaans) at university level, making me fully bilingual. My writing and speaking skills have also been recognized through competitions and general accomplishments during my university studies.

I hold a degree in Spanish and Portuguese from Queen's University Belfast, where I graduated with a 2:1 classification. My passion for language education was solidified during my two years working as an English Language Assistant in Spain, where I developed my teaching skills and cultural awareness. I also hold a CELTA certificate, which has equipped me with a strong foundation in English language teaching methodologies. Additionally, I have experience working in summer camps, where I honed my ability to engage students of different ages and learning styles in dynamic and interactive lessons. My adaptable and approachable personality helps me connect with students, fostering a positive and effective learning environment. I'm eager to bring my skills and enthusiasm to a teaching position in Korea.

I have just finished teaching English in two primary schools in Tokyo, Japan and am currently studying my Trinity Cert TESOL online. My undergraduate degree in International Relations and masters degree in International Journalism, prove my desire to work in a global context. I have travelled extensively, including most of Europe, China, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Japan and SE Asian. As a result I am comfortable working and living with people from different cultural backgrounds.

I have been internshiping with elementary school students, from grades 3 to special education. What I do love about being a part of the educational system is that there is ways to improve a students scores and behavior in the classroom. For example I have used to engage with students during reading time, by reading a specific sentence that they are having trouble with and also asking them their own thoughs into the sentance. In the future I would like to also engage students before a exam/quiz, using fun games like kahoot, quizet and more apps to engage. Not only I experienced the curriculum but even outside of the classroom there is potential for students to engage in nature and culture of the city or place. My skills usually are complex like engaging with the student on a specific word or problem, behavior managment to control stong emotions into positive emotions in the classroom, engaging in numerous of educational toys like building blocks and sticks, being attentive into students needs or care, creating lesson plans that are fun and engaging to students.

Some qualities that I believe would make me a good candidate are that I am very punctual, level-headed, creative, easy going, and patient. Since I enjoy writing in my free time, I am also very passionate about the English language. Although I am new to teaching, I am quick to learn and put my full effort into any task I take on. I have also worked with children in the past through my mom's daycare center when I was younger. This included helping organize safe educational activities for the children to engage with.

I am a fully certified teacher and have been teaching for many years!
