I am a dedicated and hardworking individual with excellent communication skills which I've consolidated through my years of service in the hospitality sector. I demonstrate a high level of leadership both in and out of the workplace, being responsible for up to twenty staff and also captaining sports clubs in my extra-curricular life, both at university and in my post university life. I've earned these leadership roles due to my outstanding teamwork skills and commitment to both my employer and the teams I've represented.

Throughout my education, I have acquired over four years of university level education, acquiring a degree in History and international Politics and a Master's in Multimedia Journalism. I've also used my quality interpersonal skills to coach the university basketball team during the year I studied my MA. This was an unpaid voluntary role, which required a great deal of commitment and confidence in order to drive standards and effectively develop the skills of my peers. This required me to balance educational commitments with both paid employment and also this role as a volunteer. Evidence of my superb organisational skills and hardworking nature.

After spending the last five years teaching English in Spain (Madrid and Mallorca) and
just leaving my post in China (Shanghai), I have gained valuable insights and
experiences that have shaped my teaching philosophy. My extensive experience in
teaching students how to excel in their English exams has allowed me to develop my
skills in classroom management, lesson planning, and student engagement, preparing
me to excel as a teacher.
Having heard many positive things about working within various international education
systems, I, as a teacher myself, was intrigued to explore what opportunities a teaching

My work experience shows that I have been a Teacher's Assistant and a Character Performer. These jobs have required me to work with kids, think on my feet, and be smart. My bachelor's of science is in Business, Management, and Economics: International Economics. I'm also currently enrolled in my Master's in English. These have required me to work with adults and on challenging topics. I can also speak Spanish, ASL, JSL, and some basic Mandarin. English is my native language.

Personality-wise I'm very kind, compassionate, determined, hardworking, and passionate about teaching as well as languages. I love being around people as much as I love reading a good book. I also adore a good challenge.

A recently fully-qualified English Language teacher and chartered surveyor with 12 years PQE, I relocated back to Edinburgh after a decade in London, following a major change in mindset and personal circumstances.

I have decided to focus on the skills and attributes that I enjoy, namely language, culture, education and equality.
