I am good with kids and young adults, and have had past experience Au Pairing children when I was a University student. My Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design (Communication Design) was obtained from the University of Johannesburg (South Africa) in 2016.

My love for English makes me more than suitable to this role, as I have always loved reading and English grammar. I am friendly and active, and enjoy doing yoga as well as going for hikes in my free time.

I have just completed my 120 hour TEFL course, and am busy completing a 30 hour Advanced Grammar course. I will be completing a 20 hour in-class course on the 17th and 18th of November, as well as a 30 hour Teaching Young Learners course that I will be completing once I've passed my Advanced Grammar course. I will have completed a total of 200 course hours once I have passed all of my courses.

I have been teaching young learners English in China for the past year and a half. During this time I have mastered the curriculum at my company and learned to make lessons that are unique and fun for children. I try to make lessons that encorporate previously learned material while teaching new material, and whenever possible get the students to act out the language in fun, playful ways. I have found physically performing material makes the lessons more relevant and memorable for the students.

I have a fun and inviting personality. I enjoy working with kids and I make sure to plan lessons that are fun. I'm also very interested in my students. I make a point to learn their favorite colors, it's interesting to me and it gives them an opportunity to show the class something unique about themselves. I can also be strict when necessary. The discipline of each student is important for their own success as well as group cohesion. I am also constantly examining my own performance to see what I can do better: how I can learn from my experiences and make better and different lessons.

I have been planning ninety minute lessons independently. I'm good at understanding learning goals and evaluating students progress. I'm good with grammar as well the intricacies of spelling English words. I'm also quite a good representative of myself and my company around parents. I perform demonstration classes for prospective students and their parents, during which I will answer questions about myself and my company.

Although admittedly I haven’t had any first-hand experience of teaching students English, I still feel I have gained enough knowledge on the topic through the recent TEFL course I completed. I possess the right attitude and am hugely determined to do very well within a rewarding teaching role in South Korea.
Throughout the course of completing the TEFL program I learned and developed a teaching philosophy that I feel will make learning English for foreign students both fun and engaging, while still challenging in an open, relaxed and safe environment.
The use of the teaching method and lesson plan structure: Presentation – Practice – Production (PPP) that I learned during the TEFL program, I believe is ideal for guiding all students towards using the language they are learning themselves, and is the best way in getting the best out of each student as it maximizes student talking time. Increasing STT through this lesson structure gives students time to communicate with each other when learning new English concepts, rather than listening to the teacher for longer periods of time. As this would work well with all age ranges of students, I also believe keeping the classroom environment fun and relaxed for younger students through games and songs, is a good teaching philosophy to have.
In addition to the TEFL course, I have spent a number of hours shadowing a close friend of mine who is currently a Year 1 primary school teacher at a local school where I live. This has given me a direct insight into what teaching a large class of younger students is like. I have gained experience of what teaching methods, reward schemes and methods in dealing with disruptions work well within the class room, specifically tailored for the students around the ages of 5 and 6 years old.

During my final year of uni I realized I wanted to get into teaching. As such started doing language exchanges and realized I absolutely loved the sharing of language. This lead me to complete a 140 hour tefl last march and I started to teach conversational English through skype and italki, while finishing my degree.
Having completed my degree and being an open and outgoing person, I plan on following my dream of teaching English. I'm very adaptable and willing to learn and in my current job as a leisure attendant I work with all ages . This involves supervising children parties and swimming/sports events. I have a wide array of skills form this and my degree. Which includes the likes of photography, video editing and all round being an excitable person.

I am an incredibly passionate and outgoing person and always give 100% effort in anything I do. I find it very easy to communicate with others; both written and verbally which I think is important when teaching any subject. I am a qualified horse riding instructor and have previously worked as a freelance instructor. I have taught people of various ages (both children and adults), and of different abilities (complete beginner to advanced riders). I think that being able to provide someone with a skill and see them develop and grow in confidence is one of the most rewarding jobs.

I'm a very organised person and find it easy to manage my daily work load and plan ahead. I have previously worked as a customer services manager which required a lot of planning and organisation in terms of rotas and employee evaluations. In my current role I am also required to provide training to other members of staff.

I'm an open minded person who takes a lot of interest in other countries and cultures. One of my passions is to travel and experience as much of the world as possible. Being open minded makes me very adaptable and I feel that I would be able to embrace life in a new country. I am also interested in learning languages and have been learning to speak Korean over the past few months!

I would like to teach overseas to challenge myself and to learn more about other cultures along the way. I love travelling and making new friends, while sharing as much about Australian culture as I can along the way.

I would be a suitable teaching candidate, as I have a passion about helping people communicate across cultures and different languages. I have seen many of my friends who don’t speak English as their first language, struggle with learning it. As part of my TEFL course, I was required to plan and conduct an English class for both beginner and intermediate learners. I has required to create a lesson plan with a teaching objective with the aim of teaching the class without the the use of a second language. In my previous job, I was also required to deal with clients from countries whose primary language was not English. In both these cases I learnt how important it is to change your language level to match that of the speaker.

I have taught English, History and Social Studies in schools in London since 2000. Grades 6-11 in Secondary schools, teaching the British National Curriculum, which includes Keystages 3 & 4.

I have been teaching English as a Second Language for 3 years, and have worked in Bangkok, Thailand and now in Saigon, Vietnam. I teach conversational English mostly.

I also tutor student's in the evening. We focus on Cambridge Checkpoint, and IMYC lessons. These student's are full time International school attendees.

My current class size is 40 student's per class, and I teach for 4 hours per day with the remainder being administration time.

I also enjoy training new teaching staff, and excel in this area.

I have a degree from Bristol University in the West Country, UK, gained in 1998. I have also studied for a PGCE at Greenwich University in London in 2000. I have been teaching since then.
