ESL Teachers

I have 7 years of teaching experience related to law, and almost 2 years (1 year 6 months to be exact) ESL teaching experience in Korea.

I started teaching in Korea on 01 June 2017, where I taught kindergarten, elementary, middle school and adult students at Gwangju City Foreign Language Center for seven months (01 June 2017 until 31 December 2017).

After my contract expired, I started teaching at Wonderland Language Institute in Guro-go, Seoul, where I currently work (10 January 2018 until 28 February 2019). Here I work with children aged 5-15 years old and I teach kindergarten, elementary and middle school students every day.

Since I have taught students of all ages, I have the ability to alter my teaching style and preparation to cater for a varied audience.

For me teaching is more than a "nine to five job" or merely going through the motions of teaching every day and collect your paycheck at the end of the month. I am a goal driven person, and I see it as my goal to help all my students to improve all of their English skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) and in the process improve themselves professionally by gaining quality education. I am always going the extra mile for my students and are always there for them.

I have experience in tutoring GCSE and A-level students in English Literature so have classroom skills that will be valuable for this role. I am kind, hardworking, passionate, flexible and outgoing which I believe to be important in such a role.

During my undergrad, I got the opportunity to work directly with youth and apply the skills that I have learned. I completed 150 hours of community service at an Early Development Center. I also have experience working with student K-5. I am outgoing and full of energy which would lend itself well towards working with younger students.

I have currently been teaching for six years in South Africa. I am hard working, creative, enthusiastic educator. I believe children need to be nurtured and helped during schooling.

I’m a self-motivated, willing to learn, individual with a high level of energy, good leadership and pays great attention to detail and I would love to share my experiences with others. I have exceptional computer and administration skills. I use this as an integrated part of my job to capture statistics and plan events.

I have a strong work ethic and am fluent in English. I am an open minded person who recognizes that it is not a one size fits all situation and that every student is different and just because they do not understand the first time something is explained does not mean they will not understand the next time when it is presented in a slightly different manner.

Back in University I did a lot of part time tutoring to make some pocket money, that has taught me to be patient and Encouraging towards my pupils as well as provide an open and safe environment that does not judge them and lets them know that it is okay to make mistakes and that mistakes are welcomed because that is how we learn.

I am a very adaptive person who handles pressure really well, I feel as if I have an easy to approach personality and are very sensitive towards issues involving cross-cultural communications as well as relationships at a personal level.

My name is MyLia Vang. I am from the Midwest of the United States from a state called Minnesota.
I have no teaching experiences but I have tutored throughout my school career.
Up until 6th grade I had the experience of going to the same school which my mother taught at.. Throughout my high school years I also would go back and help with volunteering at my mother’s school.
The reason why I want to begin teaching abroad is, I had the experience of studying in South Korea last year. I found that I really like the culture, food and enjoyed the beauty of Korea. During that time I also got the chance to volunteer at center for children which really inspired me to comeback. I am really intrigued by the Korean schooling system and I really want to be a supporting figure in those who want to learn English. I want to teach creatively and bring fun into the classroom, while focusing on development among my students. I am a patient and caring person and want to create a great learning environment for my students. I can relate to being shy and filling embarrassed as a student when learning a new language, therefore I want to create an environment where students don't have to worry about that feeling.
Lastly, as a note, I am currently in South Korea and would like to start as soon as possible!

I'm currently an ESL leacher in Beijing. I've been in the classroom since January an I love it. I'm ready to take another step in my life and move to another country. I find it very rewarding to watch my students english skills blossom. I'm excited to move forward and embrace any new challenges that come my way.

I am about to complete a one year contract as an ESL teacher in Beijing, I have been working as an ESL teacher since January 2018. During performance reviews, my boss has always complimented me on how well I get along with all other members of staff and how well I work within the team. She also says I am quick to learn and adapt to new situations.

I am often told that students, when speaking to local members of staff and.or their parents, will often say positive things about me and my lessons, saying they have a lot of fun, sometimes even saying I am their favourite teacher, which I think is very rewarding.
