ESL Teachers

As a CELTA certified English teacher, during my teaching practice, I worked with wonderful adult learners, ranging in age from late teens to late sixties. My students also varied in their English proficiency from lower intermediate to upper intermediate. From this experience, I learned a lot about meeting my students' needs, time management, and classroom management.
Currently I teach English and critical thinking online through Aha! Academy to Chinese international students in their late teens and twenties. Through teaching in this one-on-one capacity, I have grown in my ability to guide students in their communication skills and cultural awareness. Previously, I taught weekly 3 hour American Culture and Conversation classes for international graduate students at UCLA to facilitate a smooth transition to the US. In this position, I was responsible for lesson-planning in addition to teaching.
These experiences have all contributed to my abilities to encourage my students, help them achieve their goals, and empower them to excel in their communicative and receptive abilities in English.
As someone with a warm and friendly personality, I care deeply about my students and one of my great strengths as a teacher is my ability to connect with my students.

I am a higly motivated, self driven individual with a great passion for transforming the lives of children through good education. I have been a volunteer tutor at the Vukani ma- africa community project , teaching English and Mathamatics to underprivileged children and some of those with special needs for over 5 years; their ages range between 5 and 18. Through this initiative I was able to realise that my greatest passion lies in education. I am patient; caring; dedicated and hard working. I possess good time management skills and love to be well prepared. Through my work, I have learnt to understand children from different backgrounds with different abilities and aptitudes and have been able to change their lives by improving their self confidence and enhancing their interests in their academics. I have unique teaching techniques for different children and generally love to have any fun that involves children. In 2017 I took part in a volunteering programme in the institutional office for HIV/AIDS in the University of Johannesburg. Through this initiative I gained great communication skills as it involved alot of public speaking; hosting dialogues and educating students on safe sexual and reproductive health and rights. In this institution we were challenged greatly as it was mandatory to interact with different people. Unfortunately. I could no longer be a peer educator because in April 2019 I obtained my BA Public management and governance degree. I have good typing skills, with the knowledge of Microsoft Word; Excel; Powerpoint and general computer skills as I worked in a call centre environment doing simulations at the discovery institute. The greatest highlight of my educational career was in 2006 when I was awarded with the best reader certificate in Horizon View Primary school.

I am a positive and self motivated young lady who has acquired extensive experience in being a team player and being independent. I've obtained this experience through working with an NGO where I had to complete a project on implementing a Public Relations campaign and a Human Resources Internship at the City of Johannesburg. This experience has helped strengthen my communication and flexibility skills by allowing me to be able to work and connect with all kinds of people and be able to adapt easily to any environment or situation.

I am 26 years old and I currently hold a Bachelors degree majoring in English and Psychology. In addition, I recently completed my Masters in Psychology (with a focus in child development) along with a TEFL certificate.

I knew that after completing my studies I wanted to pursue a career that would not only allow me to work with children but also initiate change in their lives. As such, my desire to change the lives of children inspired me to use my passion into a real purpose.

I started looking for places where I could volunteer while I was studying and this is when I came across the Iqanga Organisation. This organisation is an organisation that seeks to create a healthy school environment for children in disadvantaged areas in rural Eastern Cape. During my time there I helped prepare children for their exams. It was thus through my interaction with these children that I began to realise a new passion emerging through my interaction with these children, teaching. I have also had tutoring experience. This experience helped me to not only understand the challenges of teaching but the rewards of teaching as well.

As such, I feel that I would make a great teacher not only because of my brief experience around teaching children but because of my overall passion for children and their well-being. I am a very patient, kind and enthusiastic individual

I am Hlezi 흘레지 – I currently hold a Bachelor of Communications from the University of the Sunshine Coast in Australia. Upon completing university, I chose to work in the tertiary space for South Africa's top private institution a student advisor. The position entailed assisting students and parents with the decision making process when it comes to university pathways alongside marketing and communications for the institution.

I am a people person – I love seeing people reach their potential and I am passionate about education. My love for being in the classroom is the reason I have decided to pursue a career where I can give back to society and wake up every day loving what I do. I am a go-getter with an enthusiasm to achieve any goal or challenge I may have.

Growing up I was a sportswoman having represented South Africa in Aquatics and my province in track and field. Discipline and teamwork has been instilled in everything I do – I am proactive to challenges, I am compassionate towards others and have the ability to motivate most people I come to meet.

My strengths, personality and skill set is the single reason I have found my fit in teaching.

To begin with, I have 7 years of English education experience altogether. Moreover, I have a TESOL degree, so I am highly informed on how to teach first language and especially ESL students. I chose to get a teaching degree but it is my passion and joy to see others enjoy learning. I am very organized and creative. At my current job in Korea, I have had to make so much supplementary materials and a lot of them I made from scratch myself. I am very loving towards students but can also give a healthy and appropriate amount of discipline by showing students what they did right or wrong. I hope I am the right person for this job.

I am Anelisa Lusithi, an English Native speaker from South africa. I am a new graduate. I hold a degree in Bachelor of Social Sciences majored in Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology. I also completed the 120 hour TEFL course.

My qualification has equiped me with skills related to children development, early childhood development, adolescence, determinants of human behavior, understanding of human behavior etc as per their age in the development Stages.

I have the ability to adapt to different environment because South Africa is a multingual country with a diverse cultural mix where people are able to mingle and understand their cultural diversity hence I will be able to fit in any environment around our global village.
