I am a 24 year old female and have obtained my Bachelors degree majoring in Psychology and Applied Language studies at Nelson Mandela University. I have received training for online teaching and so have a better insight of what is required of an English teacher.

I am in the process of seeking employment in order to get real world work experience and in turn I would have the opportunity to share my knowledge and skills in order to help young learners advance in their school career and grow as individuals.
I am a very patient, hard-working, passionate person who pays attention to detail. I am friendly and good-natured and i always try to bring out the best in others.

As someone who has a passion for both children and education, I believe my personality and skills would make me a perfect candidate for this teaching experience. I am currently living in Lianyungang, China. I am working as an English teacher, and am loving every second of it! I love all of the experiences that come with living in a foreign country, I am constantly learning new customs and ways of life every day!
I love the process of preparing for classes and lesson plans, and then seeing the students soak up the information in the classroom. Children have tons of energy, and in order to truly connect with children, you need to have just as much if not more! Fortunately, my high energy and outgoing personality keeps my students constantly engaged. I believe that all teachers have an obligation, and that is to create a comfortable learning environment. An environment that is warm and welcoming, that allows for students to flourish. Such an environment will promote critical thinking, along with creativity in the classroom. This is my teaching philosophy, and this is exactly the environment that I create and will continue to create for all of my students.
My passion for teaching and education all began when I volunteered at an after school literacy program when I was a teenager. Many of the students were learning English as a second language, and I would assist them in reading and proper pronunciation. This is when I realized how important the power of language truly is. I speak English and Spanish, and am currently enrolled in Korean lessons online.
My teaching experience, engaging personality, and linguistic skills make me exceptionally unique. I understand all of the trials and difficulties that accompany the process of learning a new language, which is what makes me a remarkable English teacher.

The written and verbal communication skills I have gained from my English Literature degree can be put into practice by coaching non-native English speakers with their language acquisition. Through my ability to encourage, empathise and instruct, I feel these skills would be useful in establishing a sense of rapport with students, fostering a welcoming learning environment which will give them the confidence to practice their English in the classroom.

I believe that it is a value of importance to have effective communication and listening skills, alongside organisational skills and patience. I believe that I have the potential and skills that would be needed in order to be a reliable Foreign Language Teacher. I have a passion for education and progression.

The experience that I have includes working in a Further Education setting in a College that is situated in the United Kingdom. My role as a Careers and Employability Adviser includes working to a high and professional standard, in which I must use effective skills when working with Learners, my team members and other staff members. I must ensure to use effective communication skills both written and verbally, active listening skills for when delivering a Careers advice and Guidance, or groups sessions to learners of different ages and levels. It is also a value of importance to be creative, organised and to ensure that tasks are completed on time.

Safeguarding is very important in my current role as it is put in place to ensure that all of our Learners are able to study in safe education setting. I believe it is a value of importance to work ethically, being non-judgemental and to have cultural sensitivity, tolerance and patience in order to deliver a quality service to potential Learners.

I am a team focused employee with a desire to work to and with the needs of the team and of the students. Development both personal and professional is my main goal. Over the past year I have worked hard at improving my trade and I now approach teaching with what I believe to be the right mix of confidence and and self reflection to be an effective educator. I am interested in applying for the ESL teaching positions with your company in Seoul, Korea. I love Korea and have a strong personal and professional connection with it. I speak Korean to a very high standard as I lived, studied and worked in Korea from 2000 to 2008. Thus, I have a very good understanding of Korean culture, mentality, work ethics and local traditions. This understanding cannot be learned from books, it can only come from first-hand experience.

I graduated from Korea University, Seoul, with a BA in English language education, which enables me to teach in state and private schools in Korea. More specifically, I hold a certificate as a qualified secondary school teacher of English (Grade 2) issued by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Republic of Korea. I did my teacher's training course in one of the middle schools in Seoul. I went on to complete my Master's in Comparative Politics (Democracy) at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in London. Thus, I can teach history, social studies or politics at a middle school and high school level as well.

My professional experience is in education, editing research papers, report writing, translation, and publishing, which is very relevant for the ESL or social studies teacher’s role. I have extensive experience tutoring students aged 4-16 in Korea from 2000 to 2008. Therefore, I am very familiar with parents' expectations and potential problems students might face when learning English as a foreign language in Korea. I am skilled at adapting my instruction methods to students' needs and interests, which I think is a key to helping students succeed in their studies.

Beyond that, I am experienced in translating (Korean to English), checking translation and editing academic and research papers written by older students at a university level. This has been my job for the last 10 years. I can support older students with developing their academic and research writing skills very well.

I also have first-hand experience of the UK education system as I worked in UK state schools and my teenage daughter has been attending a private school in the UK since she was 4 years old.

Having lived and worked both in Korea and the UK in the past 19 years, I love to challenge myself and I am a self-starter. I have co-founded three businesses during that time, one of which is currently a fast-growing company in Korea. I love learning new things and am highly adaptable to new environments, as my CV demonstrates.

Finally, my interest in Korea and my drive to contribute to this country and keep learning about its people, culture, and society is very strong, which I believe is a prerequisite for being successful as a foreigner in any job in Korea.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s in psychology and sociology. I am a team-player, who enjoys patiently helping others be the best they can be. I would say that I am skilled in communication, collaboration, listening, and self-discipline. While attending Concord University, I worked as a babysitter where I watched newborns to five year olds. I would create fun games that would allow my children to learn their colors, numbers and alphabet. I also taught my children how to write their names and other life skills, such as tying shoes and bathroom training. Also, while attending college, I formed my own study group. The primary focus of the group was test prep, lesson and essay review. I aided my fellow classmates with subject based assignments, created study guides that covered previous materials, and review written assignments for grammatical errors.

I am a hard working and dedicated individual. I am passionate about education therefore, teaching children would be an honour to me as I believe that education is important. I took English Literature as a course during my degree therefore this would be an added bonus. I also tutored children in high school whilst I was studying so I would be able to command a classroom since i have done it successfully before. I believe that I would be an excellent employee.

By the end of my current contract, I will have two years experience teaching children from age 3 to 16 under my belt. This has allowed me to become more flexible, organised and creative with my teaching and lesson plans, adapting each lesson plan to specific ages and strengths. I am a creative, outgoing and hard working individual. In my current workplace, I have strove to contribute as much to the team and children as possible, often going beyond my job role to assist the team. This includes working outside office hours, planning events and holiday themed parties for the children, and using my media knowledge to create media for these activities and classes in my own time. At first, I wanted to teach ESL as a way of experiencing the world, but now this job has become so much more to me, and this is because of the passion and dedication I see from the children I teach. I am used to being away from home for long period of time, and I am used to living in a new environment as I have lived in China for the last year.
