My name is Sophia Kim. I am a current 4th year student at Ringling College of Art and Design studying to graduate in May with a degree in Illustration and minor in Visual Development. I am writing to you to express my strong interest in the English/ESL Teacher position as I aspire to surround myself with other teachers and grow in the educative environment there through this experience. As a Korean American in the United States, I was put into ESL classes through my elementary years as I had initially struggled with the English language. However, my experience in the ESL program unlocked the potential in me to eventually become an Honors student in high school who took Advanced Placement courses. I am always incredibly thankful for the opportunity to had been in ESL classes as I was able to forge special bonds with my fellow peers and learn the power of education. Due to my upbringing, I had grown a fervent passion to help others in my university years to give back to the community. Whether it be fellow peers or students as a Student Ambassador, Orientation Leader, and Tutor, I am always humbled to have the opportunity to help. Along with this passion for teaching others, I can bring an enthusiastic attitude with a creative mindset that can build upon classroom lessons, problem-solving, and imagination.

As I see from the job description on your listing on LinkedIn, I believe that my skillset described in my resume will indicate that I am a strong candidate. I am fluent in the English language, proficient in Korean, and have conversational understanding of Spanish. While I was focusing on improving my technical skills at Ringling College of Art and Design, I have practiced and developed leadership, communication, and teamwork skills in association with fellow students, parents, and young children. As an Orientation Leader/Student Ambassador for first year students and a Student Government Board Member at Ringling College, I promoted and encouraged the growth of student activity on campus, ultimately stimulating a more creative and friendlier environment for students. Through these experiences, I came across the opportunity to teach ESL students at the local Booker Middle School as a tutor. In my role as a tutor, I assisted struggling students to learn new material in various subjects such as English, science, math, and art. During this length of time, I also was given the position to become the Campus Activities Coordinator to help organize and coordinate school events on campus and supervise school activity development. These opportunities have allowed me to befriend other students, teachers, and children, often teaching me as well to better myself as an individual and grow as a teacher and artist.

I would define myself as a proactive individual with over 2.5 years of work experience. My goal is to leverage academic experience and a proven knowledge of classroom management, lesson planning and curriculum development to successfully fill the English Teacher role at your company. I am frequently praised as hard-woking by my peers and employer, I can be relied upon to help your company achieve it's goals.

I maintain a wonderful relationship with people of all ages, especially children. I also focus on building connections with my students and am able to teach simple and advanced concepts with ease.

My main goals in pursuing a career as an English language teacher is to travel. I aspire to communicate with, and help as many different people from different walks of life as possible. Sharing the gift of language.
I want to be the kind of teacher who encourages criticism and feedback from my students and peers. So, I can learn with them, and develop a personalized repertoire of teaching practices, alongside the guidance provided from my course. Experience Is the most crucial way to develop any skill, so I’m eager to start acquiring some as soon as possible. Therefore, I’m open to teaching any age group, and am willing to explore both long and short-term contract opportunities.

I am 22 years of age and just finished my Bcom.Honors degree.

I have a lot of experience with developing associates and teammates. I am known as a dedicated, results-oriented manager with the ability to build rapport at all levels. I have a successful track record of motivating employees to obtain maximum performance that leads to increase profits and revenue. I am a very outgoing person with a passion for teaching others. Bottom-line…..experienced leader, multi-tasker who enjoys a fast-paced environment.

I taught ESL in China for 18 months and this experience laid the foundation for my teaching ethic. I love seeing my students progress with their listening, speaking, reading and writing and I always plan activities to utilise these skills. I'm a patient, understanding and kind teaching and the goal of all my lessons, is that each student must walk out of the door having learnt something. I love smiling and am a happy and adventurous person. I enjoy the challenges that come with teaching a second language, and learning about a new environment. Living and working in China taught me a lot about myself as a teacher and I'm ready to use these skills in a new region.

I am now currently an online teacher and have 1 year expirience as a kindergardern teacher. I LOVE children and enjoy my job very much. I am a bubbly friendly teacher so I make the classes fun for my students while getting the job done. Because thier attention span is low I try to make classes fun so that it doesn't really feel like they are on a class but rather a fun learning environment. I enjoy working with children because I get to contribute to fundamental building blocks of helping shape thier future in English literature.

I am a very patient, organised person who adapts well to places and faces challenges head on with a big smile on my face.

I am currently in the process of completing an online 120 hour TEFL course in order to prepare me to teach English as a foreign language. I have a BA degree in English and German, due to one of my majors being German I took a semester off from university in 2017 to move to Germany, where I worked as an au pair in Munich for 3 months. During this time I took care of a 6 year old little boy and helped him with his English language learning. It was after this experience that I became certain that I wanted to pursue a career as an EFL teacher after university.

From September 2018 – December 2019 I worked as a nanny for a family with 3 children, 7 year old twin girls and their older brother who has Down Syndrome. This job involved picking the children up from school, preparing meals for them, helping them with homework, putting them to bed and minding them overnight when their mother had to take international trips for work. It was this job that verified my love for working with children and confirmed to me that I would like to be in a job where I am working with children in some capacity.

I have a great interest in foreign languages and cultures, hence why I chose to study German at university. Teaching English abroad allows me to combine two things I am very passionate about, by allowing me to work with children while immersing myself in another country's culture and language.

I am a native English speaker from South Africa. I am currently based in Hanoi, Vietnam and have been working with APAX English and with AMES English centre as well, with a combined experience of 2 years. I hold a Bachelor of Social Science in Geography and Environmental Management from the University of KwaZulu-Natal as well as an Honors degree from the University of South Africa in a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management. have also completed a 120-hour TESOL course. Thus, I am confident that I satisfy the requirements listed for the position.

I have chosen to pursue a career in teaching due to my passion for wanting to make a difference as well as work with children. I am a hardworking, humble and easy-going person. I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching over the past year and would love to continue this experience in South Korea.
