While I don't have experience teaching English, I have taught older adults how to use computers, as I specialize in Computers.

I am extremely patient, outgoing, and extroverted with the right atmosphere.

Above education, I value having a good time and having fun, I think that students will thrive and learn more if the atmosphere isn't too focused on learning, this creates pressure that is not necessary and counter-intuitive/detrimental to the overall experience of learning English.

I come from a philosophy background, I understand that learning in principle, only comes from interest, and fun, which creates dedication and spurs motivation.

I am here to teach, but to reiterate again, to create a positive environment for the kids, and since I'm so cool, they'll want to learn and try to impress me (joke).

I have outstanding experience in teaching students from all cultural and economical backgrounds. I have excellent student satisfaction ratings and have helped students with specific goals in increasing their English abilities ranging from OPIC, business english, speech, and essay writing. Furthermore, I have taught a wide range of age groups from elementary students to working adults. I am very adaptable to any working situation and have great leadership. My ability to connect with students and bring out the best of them is second to none and I find it extremely rewarding when I see my students succeed. I am punctual, diligent, and excellent in time and stress management. Additionally, I have proven to myself and employers that I am a great asset to any team due to my consistent efforts and desire to always improve and learn.

I am a 26 year old native English speaker, I have over 2 years experience teaching ESL in both China and Italy, to ages ranging 2 – 40 years old. I have taught classes from 1:1 to up to 20 students per class.
I am trained in Cambridge and Trinity curriculum.

I studied Drama and Performance at university, I am a very friendly and outgoing person, who enjoys learning new cultures and meeting new people and making new friends.

I believe every child should have the opportunity to progress regardless of background or language.

I aim to provide compelling reasons as to why I am the perfect candidate to teach English in Korea. I will first explain my approach to teaching before outlining my experience both with Korea specifically and with living abroad more generally.
I firmly believe that teachers must be able to play two key roles: that of an instructor, and that of a learner. To be an effective instructor, the teacher must know the material, be an effective communicator, and have the ability to express ideas in a lucid and engaging manner – this is the intellectual component of what it means to be an effective instructor. However, there is also an emotional component: the effective instructor will be encouraging, compassionate, and patient – yet firm, confident, and assertive. Teachers must also play the role of a learner; they must be open-minded enough to question the methods they employ, and flexible enough to adjust those methods to suit the needs of their students.
On a more personal note: throughout my time in school – from grade school through university – I always appreciated teachers who were motivated to have their students develop a genuine liking of the subject material, and who really enjoyed interacting with their students and keeping them engaged. Without exception, I found these teachers to be extremely empathetic toward the needs of their students, and it was these classes that students enjoyed the most. I aim to emulate this approach when I teach, for which the above description of the roles I think teachers must be able to play provides a framework.
I have had exposure to different cultures in the past because, from grades nine to twelve, I studied at an international boarding school in India under the British A-Level curriculum, where I had the chance to interact with students from many different countries, including many students from Korea. I found that they were very warm, friendly, generous, and open-minded. Overall I found that living abroad was an incredibly enriching experience, cultivating within me an even greater sense of curiosity about the world. I am very aware that there's the chance for culture shock in cases where one moves somewhere new; I am confident my experience living abroad for school has prepared me well for any such challenges, should they ever arise.
I firmly believe that as a foreign teacher I am representing Canada and Canadian culture. Teaching in Korea would be an amazing opportunity for us to exchange cultures and to learn more about each other – this fills me with excitement!

I have numerous qualifications in the area of education and it is something I am truly passionate about. I have been involved in educating others in various capacities since the age of 15, when I first started volunteering in my local sports club as a youth coach. And more recently, I have gained valuable classroom experience working as an ESL teacher with Apax English in Vietnam.

Since my youth, I have worked and volunteered in a number of different roles involving coaching and teaching both children and adults. I have worked with children from a range of age groups (5years-17years) in my role as a sports coach, camp leader, and teacher. However, through my work as a Games Development Administrator and a Personal Trainer, I have also gathered valuable experience working with, and tutoring adults in both group & one-to-one settings.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary school teaching, specializing in the areas of Physical Education and Geography, as well as numerous coaching qualifications. My recent TEFL qualification has added greatly to my knowledge of teaching methodologies and has further enhanced these qualifications. I also hold a Master’s degree in the area of Sports Science, something that proves I am a hardworking and motivated individual.

I have spent the last year working as an English teacher in Vietnam, something which has allowed me to apply all I have learned throughout the years, but in a school setting. I have taught children ranging in age from 4 years to 16 years old and have really enjoyed the challenge of teaching English as a second language. In June of last year, I was promoted to the position of Senior Teacher at my centre. This involved the new responsibility of reviewing my peers’ lessons and providing them with critical feedback on how to improve in their role as teacher. In November of last year, I was promoted to the role of Head Teacher at my centre, which made me responsible for all admin, scheduling, staff training and staff assessment at the centre, as well as still making sure to maintain my own high standards of teaching in the classroom. I really enjoyed the challenge of this new role and I look forward to applying all I have learned this past year in a new environment.

My passion for making a lasting impact in someone's life is what compels me to work hard everyday. I believe this is most memorable and apparent with children as we mold and shape them to be successors of the future. Not only this, but the innocent hearts of the children are what bring sincere joy in the midst of my seemingly chaotic life. Firmly believing this, I've dedicated seven years to serving as a Sunday School teacher at a Korean-American church in the U.S. to help nurture students' educational and social growth. Here, I've utilized and grown my verbal and written communication skills, ability in lesson planning, and presentation skills while further increasing my eye for detail and organization. I've also participated in the Junior Achievement program, where I taught a 4th grade class about business and economics through visual based activities, hands on group work, as well as individual reading and writing assignments. During my visits to Korea in the past summers, I have also volunteered at the Pyungkang Christian Academy in Seoul, where children between the ages 5 to 7 are taught English in an intimate, caring environment. Through these experiences, I've realized that it's not just about what you teach, but how you teach it. I understand that patience and genuine care is what makes a great teacher.

I am TEFL certified, and I believe that my many years of English teaching and tutoring experiences make me an ideal candidate for the teaching position.

I am an outgoing individual, and I enjoy interacting with people. My students and the parents of my younger students would say that kindness and patience are my top qualities. In my opinion, these two qualities are incredibly important to be an effective teacher. I also speak multiple languages. This is another quality of mine that allows me to be an effective English teacher. English is my native language; the experiences of learning other languages have taught me the complicated process of learning a new language and given me the insight to teach the complexity of the English language.

I tend to be flexible with my teaching style to cater to each individual student. I also work with my students to establish rules that will help them succeed during the learning process. Finally, my favourite teachers in life have influenced me to become the teacher I am. My mother is a teacher, and she has inspired me the most.

Please consider my application for your program. I have lots of experience working with children, as a tutor, private French teacher and over a year an au pair with families in France and Germany. I received a Bachelor of Music in 2019 from the University of Melbourne, one of the best universities in Australia. I am interested in teaching English as a next step on my career path as I value immensely learning about other cultures and languages.

Experience-wise I have always loved working with kids (I’ve been an au pair for a large part of my adult life!). Ever since I was young, I have been involved in helping my mother (who is a music teacher and classroom teacher) with class preparation, testing out lessons and more. I was also involved in a reptile show company Lizzy’s Lizzards as an assistant presenter and later as a presenter. This is a service that goes to kindergartens, schools, and children’s birthday parties to teach them about the animals of Australia, what they can do and what we can do to look after them. Being an au pair involves getting the kids ready in the morning, teaching them English through games, songs and daily phrases, taking them to school, helping them with homework, making dinner and babysitting. In France, I was occasionally a teaching assistant at the local primary school. I also tutored English one on one and in small groups. I held a weekly French class in Australia throughout 2018/19. I look forward to being able to teach in a more formal setting with larger classes one day.

Personality-wise, I am consistently optimistic, hard-working and respectful. I take great care to understand every aspect of my work, through my job as a waitress I learnt a high level of professionalism and collaboration with other staff. As an au pair one must consistently be in communication with the parents, parents of friends of the children, schools and kindergartens as well as being constantly extremely responsible.

In terms of skills, most importantly I have great communication skills, problem solving, and initiative. All of these are important for my current position and have been important throughout my time as an University student and a head waitress at Le Voltaire Bistro Francais. Additionally, I have a Bachelor of Music and have worked with opera companies and choirs in both Europe and Australia so I am perhaps overqualified for singing English education songs but I really enjoy it! I am applying for the role of teacher of English as a foreign language. Having spent the last two years working in education as a teaching assistant at Hillbrook primary school, I know that I want to go into a career in teaching.

Taking the Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching course this summer was an experience I found not only hugely enjoyable, but intellectually demanding and highly fulfilling.

My experience on the CELTA course convinced me that teaching English as a foreign language was something I really wanted to do. I welcomed the opportunity to interact with a wide range of students and helping them to progress in their attempts to improve their ability to understand and communicate in English. Seeing the students on the course make progress was hugely fulfilling.

I feel that I am well suited to the role of English language teacher: I have not only a deep interest in educating students and helping them to progress in achieving their aims, but I also have an ever-increasing interest in the English language and what methods are best suited to its teaching. I am happy and confident in interacting with students and colleagues and I really enjoy working as part of a team.

I am also, of course, very interested in the travel opportunities that this job brings with it and would be very happy to emerse myself in a new country and culture.

I am a passionate, enthusiastic and friendly ESL teacher, who has one year's experience in the field, working with children between the ages of 3 and 12. In addition to this, I have worked with older students in Uganda, when I worked as a Volunteer following my graduation from University in 2018.

These experiences have equipped me to the necessary skills to undertake a new ESL challenge within a new environment. They have allowed me to become an adaptable candidate who is not afraid to take risks and react to changing situations. For example, I have excelled in roles in diverse locations such as Beijing and a rural village called Nazigo in the Kayunga district of Uganda and transitioned to Online teaching when the current pandemic took hold around the world.

Furthermore, in undertaking my first ESL roles, I have built upon the communication and presentation skills developed during my academic studies to become an excellent teacher, who can inject passion and energy into every class that I teach. I thrive on building a relationship with my students and helping them to excel in a friendly and welcoming environment. As a teacher in Beijing, I was praised for my teaching style by both my Chinese colleagues and the Academic Director of my school, who later headhunted me to work for the company remotely on a new project, after the COVID-19 outbreak had initially forced me to leave the company when I decided to return home.

Teaching online has reinvigorated my love for ESL teaching and I am now seeking a new opportunity in Korea, a country which I have long sought to visit. I believe I could thrive as a teacher in this setting. and look forward to hearing from you soon.
